The Shuttle Driver drives the City shuttle to designated locations within the City of East Palo Alto, and occasionally outside the City for regional events or activities, and performs related duties as assigned.

Work schedule:

Wednesday: 9:30 am - 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm-7:00 pm (7.hrs)

Thursday: 9:30 am – 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm -7:00 pm (7.hrs)

Friday: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm (4.hrs)

Saturday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (12.hrs) As needed

Sunday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (12.hrs) As needed

allcove™ https://allcove.org/ is a youth drop-in center model that has evolved from the Head Space Program in Australia and Foundry Program in British Columbia, Canada. PHCD is working closely with Stanford’s Center for Youth Mental Health and Well Being (CYMHWB) leadership who have been instrumental in defining the model for California and successfully influencing the State of California Mental Health Services & Oversight Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) to provide start up grants for five pilot centers around the State. The City of San Bruno Recreation and Aquatic Center offers an exciting part-time opportunity for a Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer. This position entails 10 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available during weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Position Summary

The Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer plays a key role in providing essential fitness instruction and personalized training programs to help individuals achieve their health and fitness goals. The responsibilities include instructing group fitness classes, offering personal training sessions, designing customized fitness programs for clients, ensuring safe and effective exercises, motivating and encouraging participants, providing feedback and adjustments to exercises, and monitoring clients' progress for continuous improvement. This role will also be providing excellent customer service, addressing fitness-related inquiries, maintaining a positive and motivating environment for everyone, and ensuring the fitness facility is clean, safe, and fully operational. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.  

• Certification in personal training or group fitness instruction required (e.g., ACE, NASM, or other recognized certification).  

• At least one year of experience in fitness instruction, personal training, or a related field preferred.  

• Experience in group instruction and one-on-one training is highly desirable. 

Knowledge and Skills

This position requires a knowledge of general fitness principles, exercise techniques, and wellness practices, instructing and motivating individuals or groups in a fitness setting, excellent communication to provide clear instruction and positive feedback and assessing client needs and creating individualized fitness programs. The position also requires ability to operate and maintain fitness equipment safely. 

Special Requirements: 

• Current certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 

• Fitness certifications (e.g., Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor) from a nationally recognized organization.

On-Call Expectations

Emergency Coordinators may be assigned on-call duties with a minimum of 7 days' advance notice, distributed equitably among qualified staff. During on-call periods, employees must remain within 30 miles of the facility and respond within 30 minutes of notification while maintaining reliable communication. Employees will be compensated for all on-call hours outside of normal working hours under applicable labor standards and collective bargaining agreements. Employees retain the right to engage in personal activities during on-call periods, cannot be assigned more than 7 consecutive days without a 48-hour break, and maintain full union representation rights and grievance procedures for any on-call related issues. All provisions comply with Fair Labor Standards Act requirements and union standards for emergency worker compensation and working conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Emergency Planning & Coordination
• Support technical tools such as SMCAlert , EOC software, GIS dashboards, and mapping platforms
• Develop visual aids and dashboards to support situational awareness
• Program Administration & Technical Support
• Develop and update all-hazards emergency plans, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with County departments and regional partners to ensure coordinated response strategies
• Lead and support planning meetings, working groups, and operational briefings
• Will be assigned to the Emergency Operations Center when activated
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency incidents as needed
• Liaise with Incident Commanders and partner agencies during activations
• Support situational awareness, logistics coordination, and field communications
• Provide Just-In-Time Training and support for County staff and first responders
• Training, Exercises & Public Engagement
• Help develop and administer the Integrated Preparedness Plan ( IP P)
• Coordinate and conduct drills and community outreach events
• Represent the County at regional stakeholder meetings and public forums
• Maintain inventory of emergency equipment, supplies, and documentation

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. A typical path includes:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, planning, GIS, or a related field

Experience: At least one year of experience supporting emergency planning, response coordination, training, or related public service activities

Preferred:

• ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Familiarity with EOC functions and emergency notification systems

Facility and Sports Field Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is hiring two part-time Recreation Specialist positions, each with a distinct focus. One position will support Youth, Adaptive, and Senior programs, while the other will focus specifically on serving the East Gilroy neighborhood with various recreation programs. Both roles will involve leading programs for socio-economically disadvantaged youth, teens, and adults, managing part-time staff, program planning, administering grants, and collaborating with local organizations and public agencies.
 
Under general supervision of a Recreation Manager, Recreation Supervisor, or Recreation Coordinator, the Recreation Specialist will plan, organize, and direct the physical, recreational, and social activities of assigned recreation programs. Program areas include but are not limited to: Adaptive (special needs), Adult and/or Youth Sports such as organized leagues or classes, After School Program, Cultural Arts, Facility Attendant, Senior Center, Special Events, Summer Camps, Theater, and Youth Center/Youth Services. This is an entry-level, paraprofessional position supporting the Recreation Division.
