This particular recruitment will be a 56 hour (Monday-Friday) position - with the exception of emergencies and Strike Teams. The base weekly schedule will resemble the following example:

Firefighter Recruit (20514831)
The San José Fire Department's (SJFD) core mission is to serve the community by protecting life, property, and the environment through prevention and response. SJFD is a high-volume, all-hazards fire department providing fire suppression and rescue services that protects approximately 200 square miles, Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support services as well as specialized operations including Urban Search and Rescue, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, and a Hazardous Material Unit with a Decontamination Unit.

The City of Marysville is excited to announce that we are looking for Intern Fire Fighters. Currently, we have 3 positions looking to be filled.
This is a NEW program within the Marysville Fire Department. The Marysville Fire Department is hiring continuously for twelve (12) Firefighter Reserves. These positions will be funded for four (4) years through the SAFER Grant.
For each 24 hour shift worked, you will receive $60 for food and mileage, that will be paid monthly in accordance with the City of Marysville's established pay schedule.
The City of Sunnyvale invites applications for the Public Safety Officer - In Training. The position of Public Safety Officer-In Training is a non-sworn, training classification while incumbents are attending the police and fire academies. Upon successful completion of the police academy, incumbents will be promoted to the sworn, training position of Public Safety Officer I. Upon successful completion of all required training, incumbents will be promoted to the sworn position of Public Safety Officer II.
