Job Description

Under the supervision of the Piledriver Supervisor I, the Pile Worker performs a variety of manual work in the repair and construction of piers, wharves, and related substructures by removing and replacing decayed and/or damaged caps, stringers, and decking; pulling, driving, framing, and bolting piles; burning old bolts; and repairing docks. Inspects piling underwater, wraps damaged piles and identifies severely damaged piles for replacement. Performs underwater burning, welding, and rigging for underwater projects.

For positions that require diving ability, incumbent must hold a current commercial diving certification. Diving ability includes performing underwater diving work including the ability to inspect underwater piles, wrap damaged piles, cut piles, prep and grout concrete piles, install anodes, designate severely damaged piles for replacement, perform underwater burning, welding, and rigging and familiarity with CAL OSHA regulations related to diving.

The essential duties of the 9330 Pile Worker include but are not limited to:

• Placing, driving, and capping piles.
• Placing stringers, sawing, and laying decking.
• Tearing out decayed and damaged decking, stringers, caps, and pilings.
•  Boring holes and framing timbers.
• Assisting in moving and rigging the piledriver and/or truck crane.
• Assisting in moving and rigging the piledriver by setting up, tearing down, and resetting rigging.
• Making minor repairs to piledriver machinery and equipment.
• Fabricating rigging, both wire rope or synthetic line such as block and tackles, slings, chokers, pennants, and related gear.
• Building, maintaining and using floats, pontoons, or work boats in the maintenance and repair of piers and docks.
• Building and maintaining floats, pontoons, workboats, and rafts.
• Loading and/or unloading piles, timbers, or debris to or from trucks or barges.
• Assisting the dive crew by sending down equipment and tools.
• Using international code of hand signals to signal instructions to the Piledriver Engine Operator.
• Using and maintaining pneumatic and portable gas tools.
• Operating forklifts, vehicles, and boats
• Using and maintaining a wide variety of pneumatic and portable gas tools such as drills, sanders, wrenches, saws, forklifts, torches, boring machines, and other related tools.

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: Some positions require diving ability - for positions that perform underwater diving, candidates are required to pass a medical qualification examination to dive and for the use of a respirator. Sustained physical effort, frequently underwater and under adverse weather conditions such as in rain, rough water, cold temperatures (water and air) and confined spaces; moving large heavy timbers; operating a skiff; and driving Port vehicles; required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and support dive gear and apparatus from 100 to 150 pounds.  

Qualifications

Experience

Four (4) years of verifiable journey-level experience as a pile worker.

For diving positions only: One (1) year of commercial construction diver experience in addition to the experience described above for a total of five (5) years of experience.

License and Certification

Possession of a valid California driver’s license (to be presented at time of appointment). Insurability under the Port’s automobile liability insurance must be maintained throughout employment.

For diving positions only: Possession of a current certification as a commercial diver by an Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE) accredited dive school.

Desirable Qualifications (Ideal Candidate)

The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with wood, steel and concrete pier construction and marine pile driving operations.
• Experience working on a barge crane conducting pile driving operations.
• Experience maintaining floating assets and marina floats.

• Good oral communication skills.

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card

This position requires that the incumbent be qualified for unescorted access to the Port’s Maritime Transportation System (MTS).  An application for a TWIC card may be submitted after employment has commenced.  Employment in this position requires that the incumbent undergo a criminal history check, immigration check and terrorist threat assessment, including FBI fingerprints, in order to determine eligibility for security clearance.  

The incumbent must submit an application for, successfully acquire and maintain a TWIC card. Temporary Maintenance Worker – Parks & Roadsides 

Salary: $20.00/hour

DEFINITION 

Perform a variety of general maintenance services for parks and roadsides and other areas as assigned within the Town.   

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule up to 29 hours per week, which may include weekend work; not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year. The schedule for this position would be Friday through Monday.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Clean up trash in and around Town-maintained park and roadside areas. 
• Operate a variety of equipment, including: half ton and three-quarter ton trucks, Cushman and golf cart (or similar) vehicles, blowers and other two-cycle equipment, and hand tools (i.e., shovel, rake, hoe, etc.). 
• Periodically groom sports fields and bocce ball courts with equipment and/or machinery provided.

The City of Lincoln is hiring for the position of Maintenance Worker I/II within the Streets Division of the Public Works Department.  Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Maintenance Worker series including maintenance, construction and equipment operation work in one or more Public Works divisions; occasionally assists in the training of lower-level Maintenance Workers; and performs other related duties as required.

Maintenance Worker I

The Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. This classification is alternatively staffed with Maintenance Worker II and incumbents may advance to the higher-level after gaining experience and demonstrating a level of proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Maintenance Worker II

The Maintenance Worker II is the journey level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Maintenance Worker in that the latter performance the more complex assignments and lead responsibilities.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

The Maintenance Worker I receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor.  Incumbents of this class do not routinely exercise supervision.  The Maintenance Worker II receives general supervision from a Public Works Supervisor. May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs maintenance, repair, construction, equipment operation and installation work in streets, water, sewers, refuse collection, parks and buildings.

• Parks and Buildings: Maintains lawns, shrubs, and trees; assists in spraying of herbicides and pesticides; cuts, sprays and removes weeds; clears brush and debris; assists with planting and maintenance of landscaped areas; installs, maintains, repairs and programs irrigation systems; cleans and maintains parks and city buildings; assists in the performance of minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and remodeling tasks.
• Solid Waste: Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Fills out reports and work orders; climbs or uses hydraulic aerial devices to top, trim, reshape, strip, treat and remove trees; operates airport fueling vehicles; responds to after-hours call-outs if assigned.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, operate hydraulic aerial devices, drive motorized vehicles and heavy equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruptions.

This position performs preventive, routine and emergency maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy and light industrial and marine equipment, related systems and components. Typical duties and responsibilities include the following:

Airside Operations:

• Respond to emergencies, distressed or disabled aircraft, hazardous materials spills, wildlife or other airfield accidents or incidents

• May perform airfield inspections and other operations duties in support of airside.

• Coordinates cleanup efforts, prepares detailed informational and operational reports related to safety/security incidents, injuries and accidents.

• Use vehicle to patrol the airfield to inspect and observe aircraft, tenants, perimeter fences, gates to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and act to correct deficiencies.

Terminal Management / Customer Service:

Airport Operations Center:

Program Overview:

The Child Welfare Mental Health (CWMH) team serves children ages 6-17 years old and their families who have a voluntary or court-ordered open case with Children and Family Services (CFS). For all CFS referred youth, we administer the CANS, among other assessment tools. We interview the children, caregivers, and any relevant parties as part of this assessment process. Based on these assessments, we provide various therapeutic services (e.g., individual therapy, family therapy, dyadic therapy, psychiatric evaluations, etc.). When appropriate or upon CFS case closure, CWMH therapist transfers mental health services to other BHRS programs or to our network of community-based agencies/providers.

Position Description:

We are hiring a Bilingual Spanish-speaking clinician to provide assessments, brief crisis/stabilization, therapy, case management services, and treatment summaries to the court for children aged 6-17 years old. The ideal candidate will provide trauma-informed child abuse treatment and work closely with the foster care system.

Our clinicians carry an outpatient caseload and services are community-based. We can conduct therapy at our BHRS therapy offices, but mostly conduct therapy off-site (e.g., at the child’s school, homes, etc) based on what is convenient for the child/family. So, having a car to travel within San Mateo County is necessary to the work. It is important to note that for work-related travel, the candidate can choose to use county cars or if they decide to drive their vehicle, they can also get mileage reimbursement.

We serve residents of San Mateo County who are often of racial/ethnic minorities and low-income status. Our team consists of master’s level clinicians (licensed and unlicensed). Therapists have weekly individual supervision and a weekly clinical staff meeting where cases are discussed. There are ongoing training opportunities to learn skills in a wide variety of modalities (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, NMT, etc.). The work that this team does is critical for the health and well-being of many children and youth in San Mateo County. Although the work often comes with the challenges connected to trauma, it also provides a rich and rewarding experience.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.
