The City of Vacaville is accepting applications for the position of Legal Services Manager in the City Attorney's Office. Currently, one (1) vacancy exists but this recruitment will also establish an eligibility list to be used for any future vacancies over the next 12-month period.

The Legal Services Manager oversees the administrative and legal support staff and operations of the City Attorney's Office. This role manages legal service processes and projects and coordinates with outside counsel, consultants, agencies and courts. The Legal Services Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient office operations and effective legal services delivery to City departments, City Council, and City Commissions. Duties within this role include, but are not limited to: 

• Develop and oversee policies and procedures and efficient workflows for litigation and claims served on the City, including City department and staff notification, preparing/reviewing correspondence and templates for legal documents, establishing calendaring systems and working closely with in-house attorneys, outside counsel, and the City’s third-party claims administrator.  
• Manage and oversee “Legal Files,” the City Attorney’s Office’s law office management software program, including establishing proper naming conventions, ensuring proper identification of files and documents and accurate data entry, calendaring relevant claims and litigation dates and deadlines.
• Daily management of the “City Attorney General Mailbox” including reviewing and responding to email requests and distributing items to the appropriate office staff.
• Oversee and manage the City Attorney’s Office budget, review and approve/distribute invoices, reconcile invoices regularly and serve as contract manager for the office’s service and supply contracts.
• Direct involvement in recruiting and hiring administrative support staff including preparing or assisting with application information, reviewing submitted applications and participating on interview panels.

Overview:
The Grants and Claims Management Unit with Valley Water is the centralized unit for seeking and managing grants brought in to help fund Valley Water projects. Core components of this work that this position will support include pre-award (seeking grant opportunities, helping to write applications, working with project teams), compliance (ensuring Valley Water can meet state and federal grant terms and conditions, including The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) standards, working with Procurement), and communications with project teams, management, and the Board of Directors. Additional work in the unit includes tracking and reporting awarded grants for reimbursement, which this position may support during high workloads (e.g., end of quarter, annual reporting).

The work will include preparing technical documents such as grant applications, reimbursement packages, work plans, and budgets for grants. The management analyst helps conduct research from internal and external sources on topics related to grant administration. The analyst will organize and maintain grant databases, will assist in identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, and assist in writing grant applications.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. THE POSITION

The City of Rocklin is hiring Academy Graduate Police Officers to join the Rocklin Police Department. Academy Graduate Police Officers will join the department and begin an 18-month program to earn their Basic POST certificate. An example of duties that an Academy Graduate Police Officers will perform under close supervision are:

• Assumes responsibility for the preservation of the public peace and the protection of life and property by preventing crime and enforcing all laws.
• Patrols an assigned area in an automobile, other vehicle, or on foot for the purpose of preventing criminal activity and enforcing traffic laws and regulations; issues citations and makes arrests as necessary; responds to calls for protection of life and property and performs enforcement duties.
• Conducts interviews with victims, complainants, witnesses, and suspects; searches crime scenes for evidence; collects, packages, and preserves evidence; testifies in court.
• Detects, pursues, apprehends, and arrests or detains persons involved in crimes or misconduct; confronts and arrests violent combative subjects; books and transports prisoners; serves warrants and subpoenas.
• Conducts preliminary or follow-up investigations; prepares reports on arrests made, activities performed, and unusual incidents observed.
• Directs traffic and/or performs crowd control during special events and in emergency situations.
• Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints. • Actively develops and fosters community partnerships and demonstrates integrity and professionalism within the organization and community.
• Represents the City and the department in a courteous, professional manner.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by 30 college-level semester units from a regionally accredited educational institution.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C Driver License and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• Certificate of completion from a POST approved California law enforcement academy.

Working Conditions

Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law. Candidates must pass a thorough background investigation.

Must be willing to work emergencies as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Must meet physical, psychological, and background standards established by POST as well as ongoing peace officer requirements pursuant to federal, state, and local legislation. This classification requires wearing respiratory protective equipment at times. When assigned to such work, facial hair must be shaven when it interferes with the safe fitting of respiratory protective equipment. This classification functions as a peace officer within the authority and limits of California Penal Code Sections 830.1(a) and 832.

Applicants will be screened against the minimum requirements. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be invited to attend a Physical Agility Test (PAT). 

Those who receive a passing score on the PAT will be invited to a Structured Oral Examination.

The Principal Accountant will be responsible for leadership and oversight of fiscal management functions for San José Clean Energy (SJCE). The incumbent in this position will lead the Department's fiscal/accounting team and oversee all fiscal management activities for SJCE, including but not limited to the following:

• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and business processes to comply with generally accepted accounting principles and satisfy the financial management requirements associated with long-term power purchase agreements;
• Lead the development of SJCE standalone audited basic financial statements and SJCE financial statements in the City's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report;
• Prepare quarterly financial statements (unaudited);
• Facilitate external auditor inquiries for standalone financials, City Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and Agreed-Upon Procedure engagements;
• Lead the preparation of quarterly financial statements (unaudited);
• Analyze the impact of GASB pronouncements on SJCE's financial statements and develop accounting practices to satisfy GASB pronouncements;

• Manage external auditor inquiries pertaining to SJCE standalone financial statements and City Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Recreation Coordinator I – Facilities is responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of activities, programs, rentals, and special events at multiple Recreation Facilities. Mill Valley Recreation is a 7-day a week operation.

Recreation Coordinator I - Facilities schedule may include weekday, weekend, early morning and evening shifts. Schedule is subject to change depending on facility and supervisor needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Act as the primary point of contact for rental inquiries, promptly responding to emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries regarding facility rentals.
• Facilitate the rental booking process by liaising with internal staff and external parties to schedule rental dates, coordinate setup requirements, and confirm rental agreements.
• Oversee the rental application process by providing interested parties with necessary documentation, rental agreements, and pricing details.
• Collect and review rental applications, ensuring all required information is complete and accurate.
• Provide timely updates to both renters and internal stakeholders regarding rental status, payment deadlines, and any changes to rental arrangements.
• Maintain organized records of rental bookings, payments, and rental agreements, ensuring compliance with rental policies and procedures.

As the Executive Director, your responsibilities will include:

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Three years of experience in a health, social or community services organization, including at least two years of significant responsibility for one or more of the following: program and budget development or coordination of community resources or program evaluation.
