The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Public Health Nurses are assigned to specific programs such as Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, California Children’s Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Foster Care and communicable disease control. Performs related work as assigned.

Public Health Nurse Intern: is a recruiting and training level class established to qualify candidates for duties as a PHN in Yuba County Health & Human Services Department. Under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas while pursuing a Public Health Nurse Certification. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Incumbents who do not successfully complete the PHN certification as prescribed herein may be released from employment.

Deputy District Attorneys perform professional legal services in the prosecution of a variety of criminal and/or civil matters on behalf of the District Attorney and perform other related work as assigned.

Deputy District Attorney I-II-III:

• Level I – This level is assigned to attorneys who have no previous legal experience.  Attorneys at this level work under close supervision. Applicants who have taken the California State Bar Exam this year and are waiting for results are encouraged to apply.

• Level II – This level is assigned to attorneys with at least one year of experience in the practice of law, who have demonstrated sufficient professional knowledge, judgment and skill to begin handling cases under general supervision. 

• Level III – This level is assigned to attorneys with at least four years of experience in the practice of law, who have demonstrated sufficient professional knowledge, judgement and skill to handle the most difficult and complex cases under limited supervision.

Examples of Duties: 

• Reviews and evaluates law enforcement reports and associated information and makes decisions whether to prosecute, negotiate or dismiss.      
• Appears in Superior Court for all criminally related court matters, including, pre-hearing conferences, sentencing, preliminary hearings, motions, and court and jury trials.
• Interviews witnesses and victims of criminal, domestic violence, and other offenses; reviews and evaluates physical evidence, views crime scenes; discusses cases with law enforcement; evaluates cases for settlement purposes and creates strategies for trial.
• Performs legal research regarding a variety of anticipated legal issues; provides advice to law enforcement staff regarding applicable laws, court decisions and legal authorities.
• Prepares a variety of documentation, such as jury instruction packets, motions, sentencing statements, correspondence and other materials.
• Prepares witness lists; organizes and compiles court exhibits and other evidence in preparation for court and trial and provides for legal discovery of such work.
• Prepares and presents cases to the Yuba County Grand Jury.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Registered Nurse in the Public Health Division within the Health and Human Services Department. Under general direction, the Registered Nurse promotes general health in the community through education and outreach; performs a range of nursing tasks such as specimen collection and processing; administering medication/injections, diagnostic skin tests and immunizations; completes appropriate paperwork such as logs, reports, and forms; coordinates the patient’s medical care with private physicians, public facilities and other health centers; reviews laboratory results; assists in monitoring quality assurance, infection control and safety activities; participates in COVID-19 response activities including testing and other activities; administration of general nursing care, including general health screenings; provision of quality nursing care to both adult and pediatric patients in a variety of settings in conjunction with or under the direction of the Public Health Officer. This position is responsible for performing transactional paralegal duties related to legal transactions for the Housing Department. The ideal candidate will be a Paralegal experienced in preparation and/or review of real estate loan documents, closing of escrows for real estate financing transactions (including review of preliminary title reports and title policies), will be detail-oriented with good organizational and computer skills, and will have good writing and analytical skills. Depending upon qualifications, the successful candidate may be hired at the Legal Analyst I or Legal Analyst II level. The annual salary range for a Legal Analyst I is $80,676.96 to $98,083.44, and the annual salary range for a Legal Analyst II is $88,058.88 to $107,016.00. Both ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

The Senior Educational Facilities Planner (Sr. Planner) provides professional planning services that guide the physical development of the campus and assists in strategic development and improvement of buildings and space to support UCSC's mission of research, teaching, and public service. As a senior member of the unit, the Sr. Planner is the resident expert on campus and UC policy regarding capital matters, and provides assistance and support in all areas of planning for CPSM staff, campus leadership. They also act as liaison to the Office of Capital Planning at the UC Office of the President.

The Sr. Planner uses skills as a seasoned, experienced planning professional with a full understanding of industry practices and procedures to resolve a wide range of planning issues; uses advanced planning concepts and objectives to resolve highly complex issues; develops short and long range capital plans, demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for analyzing alternatives and recommending solutions; exhibits high levels of organization; recommends revisions to proceedures and policies to improve efficiency, and is able to operate with considerable independence.

The Sr. Planner provides high-level reports and analysis of campus space needs in an effort to ensure the efficient use of campus space; works with campus leadership and clients to provide in-depth programming, utilization and visioning studies for all types of campus space using a variety of planning tools: metrics, conceptual space plans, and test fit diagrams; coordinates with campus technical experts on the re-use of space; generates and manipulates large data sets, manages databases to comprehensively manage campus capital expenditures, leads and coordinates the annual updates to the multi-year Capital and Seismic Financial Plans, and generates analytics for capital planning, space management and capital outlay.

In addition, the Sr. Planner is responsible for generating or reviewing the technical and budget approval documents created by other planners to ensure that they are accurate and complete; has advanced proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office Suites, and working knowledge of AutoCAD and other communication and presentation software.

Capital Planning and Space Management (CPSM) is a unit within the Division of Business Administration (BAS.) The Division includes a broad and diverse set of operational units that provides and maintains administrative, student development and physical infrastructure that supports the mission of the campus. As a member of BAS, CPSM supports the Office of the Chancellor and Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor in the areas of capital financial planning and policy analysis. In this capacity, CPSM develops and maintains relevant databases, provides analyses of policies and programs, assists in the determination of campus priorities, and in the development of strategies designed to achieve these priorities. CPSM is responsible for capital planning, space management, programming, management and utilization aspects of the campus capital improvement and space management programs; coordinates with the Office of Budget Analysis and Planning regarding the capital budget, and the execution of special studies as may be necessary to enable the Chancellor and Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor to discharge his/her responsibilities in these areas.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in education, business administration, project construction administration, architecture, accounting, city planning, or facilities planning.
• Advanced knowledge / skills in facilities planning, architecture, engineering, or other planning-related fields; previous experience in providing capital planning and space management services, work with clients, develop space-use programs, conceptual space plans and test fit diagrams; and proficient in the preparation of associated presentation and budget approval documents.
