The Human Resources Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mail Services Driver.  ­­­­­­
 
In general, Mail Services Drivers sort and deliver County and United States mail; operate, adjust, monitor, and maintain mail processing and related equipment; and perform a wide variety of complex and specialized tasks related to the receipt and delivery of mail.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Sort mail, flats, packages, and other materials according to various categories.
• Prepare mail, packages, flats, and other materials for delivery by bundling, wrapping, and weighing.
• Operate mail processing machines such as inserters, postage metering machines, and bundling machines.
• Arrange service and repair calls.
• Maintain records of production and provide information for billing purposes.
• Deliver and pick up mail, packages, freight, and other materials to and from various County agencies and offices on foot or by motor vehicle on established routes and time schedules. 
• Lift and carry heavy packages and move mail and other items using hand trucks or other moving equipment.
• Receive and deliver locked money bags between County departments and monitor related records.
• Maintain working and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Allocate the cost of metered mail to County budget cost centers.

The ideal candidate will be energetic, customer service oriented, a self-starter, and a team player.  In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a good driving record, free of moving violations, have a good record of attendance and punctuality, possess exceptional organizational skills, have strong communication skills, have exceptional customer service skills, and possess the ability to work effectively in a close-contact, team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

License: Possession of a California class C driver license or equivalent.
 
Physical Requirement: Must possess the physical strength to lift boxes of supplies and mail bags weighing up to 70 pounds. Must have enough stamina to stand and walk for several hours.
 
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying, unless otherwise specified. A typical way to qualify is the equivalent to one year of experience in sorting, routing, or processing mail and/or supplies.

• Traffic laws and the safe operation of a motor vehicle.
• Postal regulations, mailing restrictions, rates, and postal transactions.

The Novato Sanitary District is seeking an organized, collaborative, and fast-learning Administrative Services Technician to support a wide range of essential administrative services functions, such as risk management, human resources, purchasing, record management, and general administration. Under general direction of the Administrative Services Manager, the Administrative Services Technician is a confidential position that provides paraprofessional, technical, administrative, and secretarial support to District programs and services. The Administrative Services Technician learns and then applies procedural, program, and compliance knowledge; assumes ongoing, technical responsibilities specific to assigned areas, such as risk management and record management; works with departments and outside agencies to coordinate assigned programs, projects, and services; and performs research and routine analysis on a wide variety of special projects.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate has experience in either of two backgrounds. The first is a background in providing journey-level clerical or technical support in the public or private sector that included interpreting and explaining complex rules and regulations, researching information, and preparing accurate documents and reports. Alternatively, the second is a background in providing advanced office support that included data entry and the processing of forms and records.

In addition to one of these two backgrounds, the ideal candidate is curious and enjoys learning about new systems and functions at a technical level. They appreciate when careful precision and accuracy is necessary to complete a task. The idea candidate is open to helping with functions and tasks that they are not familiar with and will seek out resources and guidance to better understand the function and complete the task accurately. They are also proactive in identifying needs, developing and recommending solutions, and ensuring the solution is fully implemented.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience: A combination of training and experience that demonstrates that a person has obtained the required knowledge and is able to perform the essential duties of the position. A person with the following combined training and experience would typically qualify to compete in a selection process:

• Equivalent to graduation from high school and four (4) years of increasingly responsible journey-level clerical or technical support experience which included responsibility for interpreting and explaining complex rules and regulations, researching information, and preparing accurate documents and reports, or advanced office support work that included data entry and the processing of forms and records.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Management Analyst will perform complex, professional, and sensitive administrative and technical duties in providing staff assistance to the Police Department, including conducting special studies, surveys, and research assignments in a variety of administrative and operational procedures and topics, often with City‑wide and/or major financial impact. The emphasis of the work may be upon financial analyses, grant and contract administration and/or policy development. Successful performance of the work requires a good knowledge of municipal operations and functions in addition to well‑developed communication and analytical skills.  Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• When assigned to the Police Department, may be required to oversee civilian, alternative response-teams (i.e. homeless outreach, clinical crisis response, or other units as determined by the department) and respond in the field to calls for service related to those teams as determined by the department. There is currently one (1) Full-Time 2-Year fixed-term position in the Department of Public Works supporting both the Water Resources and Road Maintenance Divisions.
