The City of San Mateo invites applications for the position of:
Position: Custodian – Per Diem
Salary: $28.07-32.02/ hour
Job Type: Part time, year round
Location: Reports to Park Yard 2001 Pacific Blvd
Then travels in a City Vehicle to various parks
Hours: 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday, times TBD

THE POSITION:
To be responsible for the care, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned buildings and related facilities; and to do related work as required. Closing and cleaning restrooms in the evenings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that would likely provide the required
knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities
would be:
- Six months of experience in janitorial work is desired.
- Equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
- Successfully pass required background checks.
DUTIES:
Knowledge of:
Methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work.
Safe work practices.
Ability to:
Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment.
Use a variety of custodial equipment and materials.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Work a schedule of evenings and/or weekends
