The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for an Assistant Director of Community Development who will be responsible for organizing, managing, and providing direction for all functions and activities of the Community Development Department. This includes planning, permitting, building inspection, code compliance, housing, and special projects. The Assistant Director develops plans, goals, and objectives for the Department and advises the City Manager on matters pertaining to departmental functions.

DEFINITION: Under general supervision the aide assists in planning, organizing, and implementing preschool programming for children ages 3-5 years old. Program hours are M-F PM 8:30am – 1:00pm and/or MWF 8:30am - 1:00pm. Approximately 15 – 30 hours a week. Substitute and floating positions also available 8:30am - 1:00pm.

Labor Relations Unit (Position Code 834) 

Valley Water Telework Program: Eligibility for telework will depend on the type of work performed, operational needs, and the ability for the employee to perform the essential functions of their job duties while teleworking. Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150 miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose, California by their start date.

The General Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in keeping our communities and centers clean, safe, and visually appealing. This position focuses on a specific set of tasks tailored to meet the needs of the Recreation & Community Services Department, differing from the broader responsibilities of a full General Maintenance Worker under the Public Works Department. The Recreation Coordinator or Recreation and Community Services Supervisor is the key point of contact for this position, providing general direction and/or supervision.

1. Field Preparation: Assist t with basic field preparation for baseball and softball, including tasks like dragging the infield play area, marking chalk lines, and other essential setup activities.
2. Groundskeeping: Support keeping the exterior areas of community centers clean and presentable by removing trash and maintaining general tidiness. Assist with watering and care of indoor plants within recreation centers as needed.
3. Facility Cleaning: Perform light janitorial duties, including cleaning restrooms, fitness centers, and lobbies.
4. Events & Equipment Support: Assist with event setup and teardown once events are completed. Maintain special event equipment, furniture and supplies and promptly report any damaged or broken items to a supervisor for replacement.

DEFINITION
Under general direction of the Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Manager oversees and coordinates the day-to-day human resources operations and is expected to perform professional human resources and administrative work. The Human Resources Manager manages, reviews and evaluates the work of subordinate staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is a single position classification in the Human Resources Department responsible for the supervision of staff in a number of program areas including recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, benefits administration, disability and leave management, employee and labor relations, investigations, risk management, human resource information systems and record keeping and retention.

• Plans, directs, and coordinates work activities of staff in the Human Resources Department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: five (5) years of full-time human resources experience including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Additional years of experience in supervising others.
• Possession of a professional credential in Human Resources, such as PHR/SHRM-CP, PHR/SPHR or program specific credentials such as L&D, ARM, CEBS, CPSP, or similar.
• Experience working in a public agency is highly desirable.

The San Rafael Sanitation District is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Construction Inspector to help ensure the quality and safety of our vital sewer infrastructure.  As a Construction Inspector, you'll perform field inspections on sewer system projects including pipelines, pump stations, and other capital improvements to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and District regulations.

• Reviews drawings, maps, plans, and specifications for maintenance projects, capital improvement projects, and private projects.
• Performs field inspection of lateral connection and tests.
• Recommends field changes on construction work.
• Assists in preparation of progress payments.
• Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports.

• Two (2) years of responsible engineering inspection or administrative construction experience is required.  Municipal sewer inspection experience is highly desirable.

ABOUT THE POSITION: Office Assistant I will receive immediate direction from the Senior Administrative Assistant, with additional direction given by the Business Services Supervisor. They provide a variety of clerical support and perform a wide range of customer service-related tasks in a fast paced, high touch environment. This position requires the ability to multi-task and respond to multiple requests from customers with professionalism and courtesy.

SCHEDULE: Staff will have the schedule flexibility to work weekday, weekend, early morning and evening shifts.  Staff may be asked to cover additional, unscheduled shifts due to absences by other Office Assistants.
