Join our Senior Services team as a Kitchen Assistant!

City of Pacifica's Senior Services Division of Parks, Beaches & Recreation is seeking a kitchen assistant to join the Senior Services Food Program.  The center provides meals both on-sight or delivered to seniors in our community Monday through Friday (closed during major holidays).

This is a daytime position, the hours are approximately 29 per week.

Duties include, but not limited to:

          General cleaning

          Dishwashing / pot washing

          Food storage

          Assembles food items

          Light food prep

Locations: Thousand Oaks Community Center

Hourly Rate:  $19.27 - $24.09

Part-time position: up to 35 hours per week

Summary: 
Under general supervision, the Recreation Specialist organizes and conducts specialized recreational programs for the community and provides staff assistance in a specialized program area in accordance with District policies and procedures.

• Plan, organize, and supervise specialized recreation programs for a community area or group
• Liaison with community groups to evaluate needs and formalize program ideas
• Promote participation in scheduled activities and explain specialized program to patrons
• Prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports related to programming
• Assist in conducting training programs for staff in specialized recreation area
• Travel to various sites to conduct programs, deliver equipment and supplies, or attend meetings
• Coordinate the planning, registration, and operations of special events offered by the Unit
• Design and produce flyers or brochures

• May attend and participate in Councils or Associations related to specialized area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial tasks and provides oversight of rental groups, in accordance with District policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist patrons and prospective participants on the phone and in-person
• Assist permit groups with set-up and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment
• Promptly open and unlock facilities or close and secure facilities as scheduled
• Complete facility condition forms following permit group use and incident reports as needed
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions
• Turn athletic field lights off and on for sports groups
• Sell and scan admission tickets special events and/or theater performances

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• Sweep floors, vacuum carpets, and dust or polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Wash windows, clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and sanitize high touch areas often
• Empty waste receptacles and remove any trash or debris found throughout facility
• May assist with conducting recreation classes
• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Issue and collect recreation equipment and supplies used by instructors, participants, or visitors

The City of Thousand Oaks is hiring an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Human Resources Assistant (Hourly City Worker) to join our team! About this role

We are seeking responsible, reliable and enthusiastic individuals to manage and oversee for Adult Sports Leagues. This position will be responsible for staffing and managing all Adult Sport games on a field or in a gym, including scorekeepers and communication with the sport official’s association, and managing the adult sports scheduling and score reporting online. This is a part time, non-benefited position, up to 30 hours per week and limited to 960 hours in a fiscal year (July-June).  You must be available to work Monday-Friday during the hours of 4:30pm-10:15pm and occasional weekends. This position is year-round.

The Crossing Guard position is a temporary position, approximately five hours per day, two (2) hours in the morning and three (2) hours in the afternoon, Monday through Friday.  Crossing Guards work a school year (September through June).  Applicants must be able to work outdoors, have reliable transportation or ability to report to assignment consistently.

Crossing Guards work under the general direction of the Parking Operations Lead Community Service Officer with the Seal Beach Police Department.  Based on the needs of the City, a flexible schedule may be assigned for either a morning or afternoon shift or a combination thereof, or for specific week days, based on the availability of the Crossing Guards and at the discretion of the Police Services Manager.
