City Manager’s Office
The City Manager's Office is responsible for providing strategic direction and support to all City departments for day-today operations and planning, as well as support to the City Council with its policy making. In this capacity, the City Manager's Office resolves complex administrative matters, performs City-wide policy analysis, directs city-wide emergency
preparedness efforts; drives strategic planning and organizational development; oversees employee relations; directs the preparation of the budget in conformance with the Council's approved priorities and Budget Principles; and advises the Council of the City’s financial outlook. In addition, the City Manager's Office has direct responsibility for economic
development, community outreach and engagement, property management, sustainability, community grants, legislative advocacy, and special projects.  
 
The Management Analyst in the City Manager’s Office will be responsible for supporting executive staff, working on projects and assignments related to City programs, and managing the department’s budget and financials.
 
Responsibilities may include:

• Assist in the preparation and administration of the City Manager’s Office departmental budget and financials.
• Administer and/or support key programs and initiatives that may include the City’s Legislative Advocacy, Minimum Wage, Community Grant, Smoke-Free Santa Clara, and Safety Programs, the City’s service request platform (MySantaClara), organizational development, homelessness response, sustainability, real estate, economic development, employee engagement, and development of an internship program.
• Assist with the coordination of the annual Priority Setting Session.
• Provide staff support for committees and serve as a liaison to external organizations and community groups.
• Respond to Public Records Act requests and other inquiries from the public. 
• Provide contract management for various types of agreements. 
• Review, analyze, and prepare a variety of work products including agenda reports to the City Council, policies, agreements, correspondence, Request for Proposals, and other documents. 

 
Mayor & Council Office
The Mayor and Council Office is a division under the City Manager’s Office. The division manages the scheduling for Mayor and City Councilmembers, oversees the fiscal management of the Mayor and Council Office budget, supports official travel needs, and responds to constituent concerns.
 
The Mayor and Council Office’s Management Analyst supports City Council Committees, other intergovernmental assignments, reviews Public Record Act requests for the Mayor and Council, provides support for legislative matters, develops ceremonial and recognition reports, and supports special events. Additionally, the Management Analyst may write remarks and speeches and may be assigned to support City Manager’s Office projects and initiatives. There will be occasional evening work required at City Council meetings.
 
City Manager’s Office/Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office
The City Manager’s Office also operates as the Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office. The Stadium Authority owns Levi’s Stadium and contracts with the Forty Niners Stadium Management Company (Stadium Manager) for the management of Non-NFL Events and facility operations and maintenance. The Executive Director’s Office is responsible for the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and providing oversight of the Stadium Manager’s responsibilities.
 
The Stadium Authority Management Analyst will assist the Executive Director’s Office with the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and oversight efforts. This may include responding to inquiries from the public and stadium patrons, assisting with the development of the Executive Director’s Office budget, reviewing and preparing a variety of documents including agreements, Requests for Proposals, and agenda reports to the Stadium Authority Board, providing staff support for meetings, coordinating with departments on financial, legal, and/or public safety matters, supporting community outreach and engagement efforts, conducting research, tracking various assignment and project updates, and working on special projects as assigned.
 
Ideal candidates for the City Manager’s Office Management Analyst positions will have the following:

Silicon Valley Power (Electric Department) – 1 position The Electric Department is seeking a Management Analyst to support its Operations Divisions. This position will support the purchasing and contract management activities of the Operations focused Management Team (Purchase Order process management, RFP development and management, budget preparation, contracts management and processing, policy and procedure development and maintenance).  
 
Ideally, candidates will have prior experience working in cross-functional utility teams, utility operations, purchasing and contracts management, and will have a demonstrated aptitude for grasping, conveying, and applying information related to electric or similar technical and dynamic systems as well as interpreting regulations. Experience managing MS SharePoint is highly desirable.
 
Responsibilities may include:

• Develops and manages internal procedures, documents, training materials, and controls related to purchasing guidance and management
• Provides assistance, guidance, and support, in all purchasing and contracts management activities
• Maintains awareness of changes to purchasing codes and guidance by reviewing purchasing updates, maintaining relationships with employees in the finance and purchasing Divisions, meetings, and calls, and reports back potential impacts to the organization

The Redwood City Fire Department is seeking individuals for the position of Cadet Firefighter. The Cadet Firefighter Program is designed to allow students an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of fire department operations. Fire Department Cadets spend a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours per month at the firehouse, participating in calls for service, station duties, and training. Cadets will also be expected to attend department-sponsored community functions outside of their 96-hour monthly commitment. Though the goal is to immerse the cadet into all aspects of fire department life, they are not allowed to participate in situations deemed Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH).

Work Environment/Working Conditions:

Under the supervision of the Volunteer Program Manager in the Visitor Services Department, this position will primarily report out of a designated Midpen field office (Cupertino and/or La Honda), which will include volunteer projects and administrative tasks. This position also works from home approximately one day per week (as approved) and occasionally at the Administration office in Los Altos.  Volunteer initiatives directed by this role may take place across various preserves requiring regular travel to and from the locations.  The Volunteer Program Lead’s schedule requires working at least one weekend day as part of the regular work week schedule, with an option to be on a 9/80 schedule after an initial training period plus occasional evenings and holidays.

 

The Volunteer Program Lead is a fairly independent position that supports the work of one or more departments within the agency, requiring solo work in the field, frequent site visits, and hiking steep terrain in wildland areas with poison oak and wildlife. Field work will also require driving a District truck in remote areas on unimproved dirt roads in inclement weather conditions. Work in the field may also include exposure to loud noise levels, road hazards, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, hazardous physical substances and fumes.

 

Ideal candidates will be comfortable working in these types of field conditions, as well as in an office environment including some full days of program administrative tasks using various software programs and applications on a computer, phone, or tablet.

Additionally, candidates should be familiar with the principles and practices of trail building, construction, repair, and maintenance, including site planning and resource protection as well as the tools and equipment required for maintaining and repairing open spaces and related facilities.

 

This position wears a prescribed District uniform and adheres to strict safety procedures and work habits. Depending on the exposure, employees may be required to wear head, hearing, eye, foot, face, hand, or other protection equipment.

• One (1) year of experience in evaluating, surveying, or monitoring of natural resource systems, OR
• One (1) year of experience in trail construction, maintenance, and/or repair of parks, open spaces, and/or related facilities.  
• Bilingual skills are highly desirable.

Licenses & Certifications Required:  

• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within six (6) months of employment.

Under the supervision of veteran Police Officer's the cadet experiences what it takes to develop important cadet skills. The Position: Under the direction of the Police Support Services Manager, acts as working first-line supervisor overseeing and participating in the preparation, processing, storing, retention, and disposition of police records and property and evidence, and the police and fire dispatching functions; supervises, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for providing assigned Police Department support services and activities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

DUTIES:

• Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and participates in the work of assigned staff in Police Department support services functions including dispatch, records, and property/evidence; assists in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures; reviews and approves work schedules including time off and authorizing timecards.

• Receives, classifies, and prioritizes incoming calls to the dispatch center including 911 calls and business line calls received from citizens requesting service or information; operates a variety of public safety communications equipment including 911 emergency telephone equipment, computer aided dispatch systems, and multi-channel radio systems; dispatches police and fire units and personnel.

• Evaluates response necessary as dictated by a given request for service; determines nature, location, and priority of calls; operates computer aided dispatch system to create calls for service within response criteria guidelines; assigns and dispatches appropriate police, fire, or other emergency vehicles, equipment, and personnel in accordance with policies and procedures; transfers calls to other appropriate agency in accordance with established procedures; obtains and dispatches other support services as necessary.
