Under general direction from the Library Director and/or Deputy Directors, the Library Services Manager - Employee Services will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert regarding a variety of personnel processes. Education and Experience:

Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources, business or public administration, or a related field, and five (5) years increasingly responsible personnel experience in public sector, including two years experience in a management capacity. A master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.

About the Position

The Public Works Maintenance Worker I is an entry-level classification in the Maintenance Worker series. Assigned duties in this classification are routine tasks requiring no experience or limited experience. Employees at this level perform a limited range of duties under immediate supervision in accordance with established guidelines and procedures and are not expected to perform with the same independence of supervision and judgment on matters related to Town guidelines and procedures as Level II/III.

Employees at this level receive immediate supervision from a manager designated by the City Manager and functional supervision from higher level Maintenance Workers. Incumbents may provide limited direction to less experienced employees in this classification or to seasonal workers.

The City of Dixon is looking to fill one full-time position for a Maintenance Worker I/II in the Public Works Department and to create an eligibility list for future use. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full time)

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Maintenance Worker I:  This is the entry level class in the maintenance worker series. Positions in this class normally perform a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled maintenance tasks. Although trucks and other motorized equipment may be operated by a Maintenance Worker I, the equipment is used on a training basis or for tasks which are repetitious in nature. Under this training concept, positions assigned to the class of Maintenance Worker II which become vacant may reasonably be filled at the Maintenance Worker I level, with the understanding that reassignment to the Maintenance Worker II class may be expected following successful job performance and personal development.

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level in the maintenance worker series. Positions assigned to this class are expected to perform semi‑skilled and skilled public works maintenance activities and to operate light and moderately heavy power‑driven equipment on a continuing basis. All positions allocated to this class require that an incumbent be able to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative to fulfill assigned tasks.
