Under the direction of the IS Operations & Support Assistant Manager, the Database Administrator architects, tests, implements, maintains, and documents Agency databases. The database administrator collaborates closely with IS development and Agency operations personnel to provide backend database solutions for custom applications, including real-time, scheduling, and settlement programs. The database administrator troubleshoots and provides solutions for database problems.

Level III
This classification supports and maintains the Agency’s database infrastructure and related applications. Administers all database objects, including but not limited to schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, and views. Performs database re-organizations as needed to improve performance. Performs impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects before implementing significant schema changes. Ensures security for all databases by creating roles and associated privileges. Controls and monitors user access to databases. This is a journey-level position and is given minimal direction in job duties and responsibilities.  

Level IV
Architects and designs the Agency’s database infrastructure and ensures the highest levels of availability. Leads database projects to establish new database architectures. Oversees upgrades and implementations of new databases or related software.   Position can perform all lower level requirements and works independently with very little direction May be called upon to provide reports or present to the Agency’s Information Technology Committee. May direct the work of lower classifications.     

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires that the incumbent reports for work on time and maintains satisfactory attendance in accordance with Agency policy; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives to meetings and appointments on time; Performs special assignments for the Assistant Manager, Information Services or others as assigned. Responsibilities:
Design, create and maintain all Oracle databases required for development, testing, and production usage. 

Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Database server software for both stand-alone instances and Real Application Clusters (RAC). Includes patching both Oracle and Windows. 

Administer all database objects, including schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, constraints, packages, and procedures. This includes creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) and primary objects (tables, views, indexes). Manage the sharing of resources between applications. 

Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, servers, applications and development tools. Open technical support cases with support as needed and serve as primary support contact for NCPA. 

Perform capacity planning for all databases. Work closely with IS storage and system administration staff to plan and allocate database system storage. 

Experienced with creating, managing, and maintaining data warehouse technologies.

Perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of all database instances and Windows servers to optimize database performance and reliability. 

Plan and implement backup and recovery of Agency databases. Maintain remote standby databases using archive logs.

Implement and enforce security for all of the Databases through creating and maintaining users and roles, and assigning privileges. Control and monitor user access to the database. 

Perform database re-organizations as required to improve performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database. Modify the database structure from information given by application developers. Gather statistics, create indexes, create or expand tablespaces as needed. 

Perform SQL and PL/SQL tuning and performance monitoring. 

Set up and maintain documentation and standards for database practices and procedures. 

Provide technical support to application developers and database users. 

Perform impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects. Approve and implement/oversee significant schema changes and changes to database design. 

Provide support during non-standard hours (on an as-needed basis, on-call 24x7x365). 

Provide a strategic database direction for the organization.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level III:
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Level IV: 
Education and/or Experience 
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and eight or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community. DefinitionUnder administrative direction from the Human Services Director, plans, organizes and directs a Division of the Human Services Department which provides specialized family services; and serves as a member of the department's management team.

Class Characteristics
This professional management classification in the Human Services Department may be assigned as Youth and Family Services Administrator, Aging and Family Services Administrator or Family Resource Center Administrator. Incumbent follows general guidelines or professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments; it is characterized by the responsibility to develop and implement mental and physical health and other social services that support self-sufficiency, strengthen families, help children achieve their optimal development, and help older adults remain independent and engaged in the community for as long as possible. Supervision for the Family Resource Center Administrator is jointly provided by the Human Services Director and leadership team of the Family Resource Center. Review of work is occasional or on a problem basis with incumbents presenting alternative courses for policy decisions. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Unit (MTU) is seeking a Full-Time Physical Therapist to provide a full range of physical therapy treatments/services to children with physical disabilities from birth to 21 years at special education sites. The children have chronic neuromuscular conditions, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, traumatic brain injury and muscular dystrophy. The incumbents will be working on an interdisciplinary team with parents and other professionals. This is a unique opportunity to work in a friendly and cooperative team environment based at Medical Therapy Units in San Mateo and San Bruno.
 
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited physical therapy curriculum and has at least one year of experience working in pediatrics, with neurological and orthopedic conditions. The ideal candidate is licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California; has experience working with children of all ages; and is able to use an electronic medical record system. Physical therapists without pediatric experience and/or new graduates are encouraged to apply. Physical Therapist I, CCS ($45.61 - $57.03 / Hourly) is the entry level class in this series. This class is flexibly staffed with Physical Therapist II, CCS and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher level class.
 
Physical Therapist II, CCS ($51.12 - $63.90/ Hourly) is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Staff may also provide technical advice and training to less experienced staff.

Licensure/Certification:

Serves as the technical lead on the design and implementation of Valley Water’s most complex and highly integrated Cyber Security systems involving new, unfamiliar, or emerging technologies; to perform the most complex professional level duties in the development, installation, coding, integration, documentation, testing, and maintenance of Cyber Security controls and systems; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cyber Security: monitor and maintain security on infrastructure systems including IT security applications and appliances. The Department: 
The Parks & Recreation Department supports a vibrant, active quality of life for all ages, abilities, and interests of the Santa Clara community through excellent parks and recreational facilities, community services, programs, and events. The Parks Division provides planning, development, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of City parks and open spaces. The Recreation Division provides classes and programs for all ages and abilities. The Position: 
An incumbent in this classification is responsible for the safe operation of an assigned swimming pool, including supervising pool personnel, overseeing conduct of pool events, ensuring  collection and security of revenue, and attendant record keeping.  Candidates must be able to serve a variety of ages, abilities and needs in participants from diverse backgrounds with tact and professionalism.
 
As an as-needed employee, this is an "at-will" position and there is no guarantee of hours. Hours are limited to 999 in a fiscal year or 960 hours in a fiscal year for retired CalPERS annuitants.

The hourly salary range for this position is $21.02 - $27.84. This position will be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
• Education equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade; and
• Three (3) years of experience in swimming pool management, swimming instruction, lifeguarding, or related activity; and
• Must be at least 17 years of age at time of application

Possible Substitution
• One (1) year of experience in lifeguarding and/or swimming instruction with the City of Santa Clara may be substituted for the required three (3) years of experience.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
Possession of the following certificates is required:
• A valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate or Completion of City of Santa Clara Learn to Swim Instruction Program; and
• A valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate; and
• In accordance with State of California law, a valid California Work Permit is required at time of appointment for candidates under the age of 18 who have not graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate of proficiency

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). • Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

We are currently looking for a Clinical Therapist I or II to work on our MHSSA Grant Team within Tri-City's Child & Family Clinic. This position will be a part of a 3 year - federally funded MHSSA Grant Team that is scheduled to end in December 2026. The team is being formed to foster stronger school-community mental health partnerships that can leverage resources to help students succeed.  The Clinical Therapist I/II position will report to a Clinical Supervisor and will work on a multidisciplinary team consisting of other Clinical Therapists and Behavioral Health Specialists in partnership with the school and families.

These positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Work directly with or work with staff who work directly with at high-risk youth, foster youth, youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and youth who have been suspended or expelled from school and their families to provide culturally inclusive and relevant mental health services such as early intervention, suicide prevention, drop-out prevention, evidence based mental health practices and the development and coordination of service plans to address ongoing needs;

 

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.
