The Public Works Department is recruiting to fill an Associate Engineering position in the City Facilities Architectural Services (CFAS) division, MEP Section. CFAS division MEP section is responsible for the project management and delivery of capital projects for buildings, parks, libraries, public safety facilities and various cultural facilities.

• Coordinates with construction inspectors and attends field meetings to resolve problems arising in the field during the construction of a public improvement project.
• Prepares clearly written and effective reports and Council Memos.
• Tracks and manages project costs using appropriate tools and resources.
• Responsible for permitting, managing, and designing capital projects.

Additional responsibilities specific to the CFAS MEP Section positions:

Associate Engineer (Mechanical - MEP section):

• Able to review and comment on the various mechanical and/or plumbing engineering designs provided by the City's consultants.
• Able to provide mechanical and/or plumbing engineering analysis, calculations, and designs conforming to the California Mechanical and/or Plumbing Code requirements and other local and state standards.
• Able to act as the project manager for various City projects that involve HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Able to provide project scoping and estimate construction costs for budget preparation for projects involving the upgrade/replacement of chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, air-handling units, circulation pumps, ventilation equipment, plumbing equipment, piping/valves, etc.

Associate Engineer (Electrical - MEP section):

• Able to review and comment on the various electrical engineering designs provided by the City's consultants.
• Able to provide electrical engineering analysis, calculations, and designs conforming to the California Electrical Code requirements and other local and state standards.

The City of Lincoln is hiring for the position of Maintenance Worker I/II within the Streets Division of the Public Works Department.  Under general supervision, this position performs the full array of duties assigned to classes in the Maintenance Worker series including maintenance, construction and equipment operation work in one or more Public Works divisions; occasionally assists in the training of lower-level Maintenance Workers; and performs other related duties as required.

Maintenance Worker I

The Maintenance Worker I is the entry level class responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and construction tasks. SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

May exercise technical and functional supervision over assigned staff. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include but are not limited to the following:

• Solid Waste: Operates a variety of collection vehicles and equipment including front, rear and side loaders in the collection and transportation of residential and commercial refuse; drives to landfill site when vehicle is full and unloads material; evaluates and updates assigned routes; cleans, maintains and inspects assigned vehicles; maintains daily logs.
• Fills out reports and work orders; climbs or uses hydraulic aerial devices to top, trim, reshape, strip, treat and remove trees; operates airport fueling vehicles; responds to after-hours call-outs if assigned.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires sitting, standing, walking on level and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, grasping and making repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties. The position also requires both near and far vision when inspecting work and operating assigned equipment. The need to lift, carry and push tools, equipment and supplies weighing 25 pounds or more is also required. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The incumbent may use cleaning and lubricating chemicals, pesticides or herbicides which may expose the employee to fumes, dust and air contaminants. Typical duties and responsibilities include the following:

Airside Operations:

• Respond to emergencies, distressed or disabled aircraft, hazardous materials spills, wildlife or other airfield accidents or incidents

• May perform airfield inspections and other operations duties in support of airside.

• Coordinates cleanup efforts, prepares detailed informational and operational reports related to safety/security incidents, injuries and accidents.

• Use vehicle to patrol the airfield to inspect and observe aircraft, tenants, perimeter fences, gates to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and act to correct deficiencies.

Terminal Management / Customer Service:

• Coordinate common use resources (gates, remote parking, ticket counters, bag belts) to maintain safe, efficient day to day operations.

THE POSITION

Perform professional civil engineering work in the planning, design, technical investigation, and construction of projects in public works, transportation, capital improvements, and structural engineering. An example of duties include:

• Participates in the preparation of plans and specifications for the construction of streets, storm drains, street lighting, traffic signals, buildings and related public works and City building projects; researches project design requirements; performs calculations and prepares estimates of material costs and time considerations.

DEFINITION:

To assist in implementing, coordinating, and evaluating recreation and programs and events, including but not limited to Teen Programs, Youth Programs, After School Programs, Aquatic Programs and events, promotional events, special events and excursions.

• Experience scheduling, organizing, assigns, and monitors program volunteers.
• Is able to creates publications and flyers using Microsoft Office or web-based solutions like Canva.

• Experience in planning, coordinating, and directing events, programs, and activities.
• Able to work with others and create relationships with partner non-profit organization.
• Experience collecting data and creating reports from all senior programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Implement, coordinate, and evaluate recreation programs, aquatics programs, special recreation events and services; publicize programs, events and services. Assist with coordination and scheduling of the recreation or aquatics programs.  Promote and maintain safety in the work place. Maintain records and statistical data on programs. Issue, secure and maintain program equipment and supplies.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position, in that Employee must be present to work to complete assigned tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Community resources adaptable to the development of community services programs for specified recreation programs.  Principles of program coordination, training and evaluations.  Emergency procedures, First Aid and CPR.  Safety principles, practices and procedures.

Skill to:

Apply First Aid methods and safety precautions related to assigned programs.  Develop and maintain support for programs from the community and local organizations.  Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.  Oversee train and evaluate assigned staff.  Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of the required duties.  Operate office equipment, including a personal computer.

Ability to:

Develop cooperative public relations with the general public.  Remain calm in stressful situations.  Be consistent when enforcing rules and regulations.  Maintain authority and control over programs.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

Two (2) year of increasing responsible experience in the delivery of recreation services. A Bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

License or Certificates:

When only assigned to recreation duties, the following is required and must be maintained during the course of employment.

• Required upon hire:
  •  Valid California Driver’s license,
• Required within six months of hire,
  • Possession and maintenance of a current American Red Cross First Aid Certificate or equivalent and
  • Current American Red Cross Community CPR Certificate or equivalent

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Management Analyst (Risk Management) provides professional support to risk management programs including: workers' compensation, safety compliance, review and approval of contracts and Certificates of Insurance, risk transfer, and leave and disability administration. 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to coordinate and oversee workers' compensation claims administration including monitoring accepted claims and providing information to claimants, attorneys, and the workers' compensation carrier. You will also serve as a consultant to City departments and employees on Risk Management (workers' compensation, safety, contract insurance) problems and communicate regularly with internal and external parties to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and activities, minimize risk, and advise of claim developments. THE POSITION

The City of Rocklin is looking for two Maintenance Workers to assist in the Parks Division of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Maintenance Worker is a temporary position and incumbents work on an as-needed basis, not to exceed 28 hours per week and up to 999 hours per fiscal year. Temporary employment does not provide any guarantee of continued employment and the City of Rocklin may end the assignment at any time. Temporary employees are not eligible for any other benefits except where required by law, and there is no guarantee of future permanent employment.

An example of duties are:

• Performs flood control measures by clearing creeks of obstructions, keeping drains clean and clear, and preparing sandbags in case of emergency.
• Performs crack sealing of asphalt, and backfilling trenches and excavations on City streets; performs repair, maintenance, and construction of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.
• Removes concrete, builds forms, pours concrete, and performs other concrete work around City buildings as required.
• Empties trash cans, picks up and removes debris, litter, and trash from parks, athletic fields, trails, and landscaped areas throughout the City; removes graffiti and other unwanted markings from City-owned property.
• Plants, mows, prunes, and maintains turf, trees, shrubs, and plants; clears sites of weeds.
• Performs construction and repair of landscapes and other park facilities such as installing and maintaining signs, installing park structures, and installing and maintaining fences.
• Paints or stains and pressure washes and cleans park amenities and fencing.
• May apply pesticide, herbicide and other pest management treatments to vegetation and landscaped areas.
• Makes minor adjustments on service equipment; maintains tools and equipment in working order.
• Operates trucks, trailers, and other automotive equipment as required.
• Maintains logs of daily activities.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Equivalent to graduation from high school
AND
Three (3) months of experience as a laborer in construction, maintenance, or landscaping work
