Under general supervision of the Parks Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in maintaining and repairing parks facilities, city buildings, city grounds, swimming pool. 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule; not-to-exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. 

Temporary Parks Maintenance Worker - Employee will be assigned 28 - 40 hours a week until the 1,000 hours are completed or season has concluded. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:  

• Mowing, weed-eating, edges, trimming. 
• Cleaning facilities, playgrounds, swimming pool, restrooms and buildings. 
• Up keeping fields, courts and other facilities. 
• Performing basic maintenance work.
• Up keeping equipment, tools and other supplies in proper condition. 
• Maintaining proper tree pruning and trimming on trees.
• Operating all hand tools required for work including: shovels, rakes, picks, hoes, wrenches, drills.

Salary:
$96,681.00 - $105,865.50 Annually (Engineer I)
$101,653.50 - $122,440.50 Annually (Engineer II)

Description:
There are currently three (3) full-time vacancies between the Engineering and Construction Divisions that will be filled at the Engineer I or Engineer II level. Candidates will be considered for the level(s) for which they meet minimum qualifications.

The Engineer I – II series provides technical support of the assessment of infrastructure, engineering planning, development and construction of capital improvement projects, traffic engineering and operations, and review of private development projects for conformance with County standards and requirements. The Engineer I – II reviews, analyzes, and prepares studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, estimates, schedules, and correspondence related to a variety of projects such as land development, flood control and drainage systems, commercial buildings, roads, traffic control systems, bridges, and other structures.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Director of Finance located in Boulder Creek, CA. The Director of Finance supervises, oversees and manages the activities and operations of the Finance Department including financial reporting, general accounting, purchasing, warehousing and inventory control; budget preparation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, debt administration, revenue management, administration of invested funds and performs other related duties as required.

• Principles and practices of financial analysis.
• Principles and practices of public agency finance, including general and governmental accounting, auditing, and reporting functions.
• Fundamentals of investment management, monitoring of assets, and required reporting.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an experienced leader who will lead, manage, organize, plan and oversee the staff and activities of the Agency’s Innovation and Impact team including developing housing policy, program design, implementation and evaluation. Will work collaboratively with the leadership team and the community to bring meaningful opportunities and impact to the communities SCCHA serves.

The Assistant Director of Innovation and Impact plays an important role in leading the policy work and resident community initiatives, from innovation through evaluation.  This position will oversee and manage the Agency’s Moving to Work (MTW) Plan process in partnership with the leadership team and stakeholders, and requires knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to housing programs. 

As a member of our team, we are looking for a candidate that has a strong understanding and connection to SCCHA’s resident community needs and its supporting partners. Planning, Policy, and Sustainability Division: Transportation Planning & Policy (Multimodal Planning)

This Associate Transportation Specialist position is in the Transportation Planning & Policy team. The position focuses on developing long-range multimodal transportation improvement plans (MTIPs) for planned growth areas in the city. An MTIP is a community-based transportation plan for a study area that builds upon past planning efforts, reflects the priorities of demographically diverse neighborhoods, and defines a path forward for implementing multimodal transportation improvements that address community needs and accommodate future growth. The position works with community members to identify strategies and infrastructure investments that provide safer, more affordable, and healthier mobility options for people of all ages and abilities.

This position reports directly to the Transportation Planning Manager and supervises one Transportation Specialist and interns. The position works directly with six staff in the Transportation Planning & Policy team. The position manages the Multimodal Planning function of the team to deliver MTIPs as well as oversee subsequent planning phases leading to the delivery of planned projects. Constructive, creative, and self-motivated, demonstrating a strong desire and skills to support transportation planning needed to achieve the Envision San José 2040 General Plan Goals and Policies are required. The position requires occasional attendance and participation in public engagement activities in evenings and on weekends.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Plan, coordinate, document, analyze, report, for project management.
• Conduct in-person and virtual public engagement activities including workshops, focus groups, stakeholder interviews, field surveys, transit/bike/walk audits, pop-ups, and pop-ins throughout the city.
• Manage the development of multimodal transportation improvement plans, written reports, memorandums, and presentation materials, etc.
• Analyze information using geographic information system software (e.g., ArcGIS).
• Prepare drawings, figures, methodologies, and documents using design tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, InDesign, Sketchup, and Adobe InDesign and Illustrator).
• Coordinate and oversee the transition from the planning phase to design, construction, and monitoring phases of transportation projects.

Animal Care Attendants report to the Shelter Manager of Animal Care and Services and are primarily responsible for feeding, caring for, and moving shelter animals; euthanizing animals; and cleaning and disinfecting kennels and cages. Employees may work outside and be exposed to inclement weather, may be exposed to blood borne pathogens while using hypodermic needles on animals, may be exposed to animal scratches and bites, and may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, gases, chemicals, pollens, and other airborne irritants.

This position will undergo training (4-6 weeks) during normal business hours and will be scheduled to work 5 days a week in either a daytime shift OR overnight shift ( e.g . 9:00 pm to 5:30 a m) after training has been completed. This position will be require d to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency animal services assignments.

DEFINITION

• OPERATOR I (COLLECTION)
  Under general supervision or direction, the Operator I (Collection) is responsible for the overall operation of the wastewater collections system, which includes the repair and maintenance of the sewer collection system and pump stations.
   
• OPERATOR II (COLLECTION)
  Under general direction, supervises the operation of the Collections System of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on a designated shift to ensure processing and discharge of wastewater which complies with performance standards of State regulatory agencies; perform any combination of tasks involved with inspection, construction, repair, and preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance of sanitary personnel; prepares logs and other records; performs maintenance tasks as required and other related duties as required.
   

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION REQUIREMENTS

For the Collections System, ability to locate, detect cause, and correct sewer stoppages; detect and perform minor repairs and adjustments to sewer equipment; maintain pumps and related mechanical equipment; and report to work at any time during an emergency.  Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance work and modification to equipment used in a water quality control plant; use various mechanic’s tools with skill and accuracy; available for standby on sewer calls on a rotation basis; follow oral and written directions; maintain working relationships with other employees.  (See Physical Demands section as it relates to Essential Function Requirements.)

  • Operates compressor, air gun tamper, backhoe and other related construction tools.
  • May undertake minor carpentry, plumbing, cement work and electrical.

• OPERATOR II (COLLECTION)
  Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Lead a crew in the safe performance of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of sanitary sewers
  • Respond to service requests, unclog mainline stoppages, and keep records on sewer line cleanings and state of existing problems within the Collections System
  • Repair mainline breaks, replace broken pipe and reconnect pipe sections
  • Operate power rodder, jet truck, backhoe and TV equipment
  • Conduct periodic inspections and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to wastewater pumping stations and equipment
  • Keep daily logs and records on equipment; makes reports to the supervisor
  • Provide technical assistance and prescribe work methods and safety procedures to maintenance workers and utility workers
  • Inspect installation of new sewer lines, laterals and related structures; may study blueprints and specifications preparatory to inspection of construction project
  • Supervises the work of all operating personnel assigned to shift; trains and evaluates performance of shift employees, enforces safety procedures in conformance with policy of plant’s safety program.

The City of Simi Valley has a hiring opportunity for an Inventory Support Specialist.  This position is a key team member in the Sanitation Services Division of Public Works.  An Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels, conducting audits, and maintaining accurate records. They ensure that inventory is accounted for and properly stored, and will be involved in forecasting supply needs and coordinating with suppliers.  Some of the duties will be to maintain up-to-date records of Division assets and warehouse inventories; orders, receives stocks and issues parts and materials using an Enterprise Asset Management Software and interfaces with the Enterprise Resource Program (MUNIS) through the processing of new and completed inventory requests.  Assists in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of Division resources; and performs other administrative related duties for managing and optimizing inventory levels and conducting audits.
