Salary range for this classification is: $144,274.00 - $176,586.02 annually

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

Planning, Building and Code Enforcement position:

The Public Information team works closely in support of each of the Department's divisions to provide information to the public and within the organization. ?The Department is currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Public Information Manager. As the Public Information Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing public information strategies to effectively disseminate information to the public, media, and other stakeholders regarding the department's operations, policies, and initiatives.

Working under the direction of the Director, this includes additional aspects such as developing marketing and communication programs, developing and maintaining effective communication with media, community, and public relations sectors, developing and strengthening community partnerships and commitment to public education, as well as managing marketing and internal/external outreach strategies.

The Division is committed to developing, maintaining, and continually improving the quality of services and the customer experience with the goals mentioned above and the successful applicant will recognize and value these goals and qualities while striving to achieve the objectives and tasks of the classification.

Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services position:

The PRNS Department is seeking an experienced senior communicator with a diverse skillset to establish and guide the strategy for all communications, website, public relations messages, and collateral to represent the PRNS Department to the public. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent writing and presentation skills and have substantial experience with developing and executing effective communication plans using a wide range of appropriate tactics, including traditional and new media. Creativity, good judgment, initiative, and a collaborative attitude are essential, as well as the skills necessary in developing strategic partnerships, including with potential partners and donors, to ensure that equitable access to recreational opportunities are provided to all San José residents.

Typical duties for a position within either department include but are not limited to:
 

• Develop and execute internal and external communication plans, including implementing communication/media strategies, marketing efforts, development updates, and educational resources
• Manage and develop communications strategies for department senior leadership and ensure the alignment of communication plans and messaging with City goals and objectives.
• Build and manage strategic communication channels to reach diverse customer segments and stakeholders, including websites, digital newsletters, social media, blogs, email, and direct mail.
• Develop and manage department's website content and expanding social media strategies and outreach
• Collaborating with department staff to ensure consistent and accurate messaging on all departmental communications.
• Serving as the department's primary spokesperson and media liaison, providing timely and accurate information on departmental activities and initiatives.
• Plan promotional programs to improve customer and community relations and ensure sufficient equity to public
• Develop print and electronic communications
• Work collaboratively and creatively to support public relations efforts, the functions of the department and its related activities
• Evaluate and recommend a communication plan and plan action to be taken in response to an emergency
• Work involves conceptualizing, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating major public information activities, public education, community relations, and special events and projects.

The City of Dixon is accepting applications to fill one (1) full-time position of Transit Driver/Dispatcher and to establish an eligibility list for future use.  

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. May also assist in collecting information relating to the operation of the system; receive ride requests and organize the vehicle pick-ups and drop-offs; and, will work closely with the drivers and Transit Supervisor to ensure coordinated efforts.

The City of Auburn is looking for a Transportation Supervisor to join our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Transportation Supervisor is an important part of the City's transit team that provide services including the Auburn Loop fixed route and Auburn OnDemand ride share programs.

Under direction of the Public Works Director, Transit Manager or designee, the incumbent coordinates, supervises, assigns, reviews and participates in the work of staff responsible for Auburn Transit's daily operations; schedule drivers to ensure routes are completed in a safe and timely manner; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures including providing necessary training and ensuring re-certification of drivers as required; and operates a bus as necessary to cover shifts.

• Establish schedules and methods for providing Auburn Transit services; schedule drivers to ensure routes are completed in a safe and timely manner; coordinate any changes to facilitate coverage for all shifts.
• Coordinates transportation needs for local schools and special events; prepares calendar of trips or special events to be incorporated into the bus timetable; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
• Provide an increasing level of customer service and satisfaction by providing service that is flexible, dependable, and consistent.
• Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.

• Coordinate training for driver certification and maintenance of certification; document all training in the driver training records; act as a liaison with CHP and DMV regarding certification and training record documentation.

• Coordinate maintenance for buses and allocate buses to be used on routes.
• Respond to the scene of transit vehicle accidents and passenger incidents; provide on the scene assistance to drivers and passengers.
• Investigate accidents and incidents; make prompt and accurate reports; review investigation with transit drivers and determine accident preventability and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Act as Safety Liaison with various agencies including police and emergency authorities as necessary.
• Provide regular informational and safety meetings.
• Perform a full range of customer relations; answer questions from the public relating to bus routes and schedule of pick-ups and drop-offs; issue bus passes.
• Work with local businesses to promote the use of Auburn Transit and fulfill the optimal service hours of the route.

The City of Auburn is hiring to fill a part-time, Retired Annuitant Bus Driver I/II position.  Under general supervision, this position operates a bus over designated routes to transport passengers; maintains established schedule; and ensures passenger safety.

The Retired Annuitant position is limited to work no more than 960 hours per fiscal year.  Placement in the class series is dependent upon qualifications.  The salary range for each level is below:

• Bus Driver I:  $45,864 - $58,552
• Bus Driver II:  $48,152 - $61,484

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Collect fares and issue passes to passengers.
• Ensure passenger safety on bus; maintain order among passengers on the bus.
• Render aid to passengers in an emergency.
• Transport passengers on field trips and to special events.
• Make regular inspections of bus including pre-trip safety inspections following established check lists; check belts, oil, and water levels.
• Perform minor repair and maintenance of bus; regularly wash bus, inside and out; maintain cleanliness of bus shelter.
• Maintain daily records of bus operation.
• Perform related duties as required.

The total salary range for the Council Chief of Staff classification is $86,318.44 - $172,058.64. This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience. 

The District 8 Council Office, supporting Councilmember Domingo Candelas, is recruiting for a Chief of Staff position. The position will work closely with the Councilmember and lead the staff support team for the Councilmember. The Chief of Staff is an integral link between the Councilmember and the Mayor and City Council colleagues, City administration, and the community. The Chief of Staff must have excellent oral and written communication skills, effective organizational, analytical, and management skills, and a dedication to public service. The position requires the ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with community members and neighborhood organizations, key stakeholders, and City staff. The Chief of Staff will serve as a liaison to the Councilmember and will regularly represent the Councilmember at City-related meetings and functions. Bilingual language skills (Vietnamese, Chinese and/or Spanish) both oral and written are highly desirable.  

Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to the following:  

• Advises the Councilmember on policy, budget, and community matters. 
• Manages the day-to-day office operations. 
• Supervises staff to implement office projects and achieve identified objectives. 
• Manages staffing to include workloads, training, performance evaluations, and assisting with hiring and corrective or disciplinary actions. 
• Creates and maintains a collaborative team culture within the Councilmember's office. 
• Oversees budgetary, legislative, and strategic planning processes. 
• Manages communications and public relations, interfacing with media, governmental officials, department directors, business leaders, advocacy groups, constituents, and others on behalf of the Councilmember. 
• Responds to other matters as needed.
