The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently seeking Extra-Help and Full-Time Animal Care Technicians, in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list.  Under general supervision, Animal Care Technicians assist in the daily maintenance, feeding and care of animals housed in the county’s animal care facility including those subject to quarantine, injured or ill; assist with euthanizations; provide information to the public regarding lost or stray animals; assist with licensing, pet adoptions and community volunteer programs; and perform related work as assigned.  This class is a working level class in the animal care series. 

Animal Care Services is a division of the Sheriff's Department.  Animal Care Services provides services for the unincorporated areas of Yuba County and is located in Olivehurst, California.  Animal Care Services care for lost animals, injured and abandon animals, and a provide variety of services that protect both citizens and animals. Most importantly, they keep lost pets safe and happy so they can be reunited with their owner or adopted into a new family.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
•  Feed, water and care for all animals housed in the animal care facility according to schedules 
and feeding instructions; identify, vaccinate and impound stray animals.
•  Evaluate animal temperament; place animals in appropriate kennels within shelter facility based 
on species, condition and level of observation required.
•  Monitor and observe animals for signs of illness or injury, notify appropriate personnel and 
assist with medical care.
•  Assist with euthanizations and dispose of animals in a humane and prescribed method and in 
accordance with established policies and California laws; handle animal carcasses.
•  Assist with bathing and grooming of animals; clean and disinfect cages, equipment and all other 
areas at the shelter, as necessary.
•  Collect, record and complete forms regarding care, such as weight, size, physical 
condition,
disposition, treatments received and medications given and food intake.

What You’ll Do

The Librarian I/II performs a variety of professional librarian duties in the activities of the library including reference, cataloging, interlibrary loans, collection development, programming and outreach for children's or adult services; and other related work as required. POSITION DESCRIPTION 
 

The City of San Bruno Community Services Departments is hiring for a Library Page position at the San Bruno Public Library. The Library Page position is an entry-level, part-time role with limited benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in playing a key role in the library's daily operations. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work 14-19 hours per week, including weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays, to meet the library's scheduling needs.

 

Under the general supervision of library staff, Library Pages perform routine tasks to maintain the organization of the library collections, including the shelving, sorting, and filing of books, magazines, audiovisual materials, and other library materials. Pages also clean and mend library materials, help set-up for various Library programs, assist in the opening and closing of the Library building for public access, and perform other clerical tasks as needed.

 

This role is physically active and requires regular movement and exertion. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Contract Administrator I is the entry and first working level class in the Contract Administrator series. Initially, under close supervision, incumbents perform basic contract administration duties while learning County and programmatic policies, procedures, and guidelines. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This class is flexibly staffed with the Contract Administrator II and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency, which meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

Contract Administrator II is the fully experienced, journey-level class in this series, capable of independently performing the full range of contract administration duties. Employees are normally given substantial latitude in determining approach, procedures, systems, and methods in accomplishing the work goals. They make basic programmatic decisions that require the exercise of independent judgment and are responsible for coordinating multiple functions or processes. Incumbents at this level are typically assigned the more complex contracts.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

• Support and/or lead complex procurement processes by applying knowledge of spending thresholds and competitive requirements, and County policies.
• Draft clear and comprehensive purchasing documents, including scopes of work, contracts, and amendments.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

The Essentials:

Senior Library Assistant

• Two years of experience performing paraprofessional or technical duties in a library setting equivalent to a Library Assistant II or Library Technician in the City of Mountain View.
• Education equivalent to an associate of arts degree.

Bonus Points:

• May need to possess a valid California Class C Driver License as required by the position.
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is highly desirable.
• Bi-lingual skills in Spanish, Chinese or Russian.

THE POSITION

The main job of a Library Page is putting books, DVDs, CDs, and magazines back on the shelves and preparing the library for opening and closing. The ability to quickly and accurately sort things alphabetically and numerically is required. This is an ideal job for someone who enjoys organizing and who can work quietly on their own.

 

DEFINITION

 

Under supervision, sorts, shelves, straightens, relocates, and searches for library materials, re-orders and organizes materials as needed, provides basic directional information to patrons, performs basic circulation duties using computer software, performs physical tasks to support library programs and procedures, performs closing procedures, and does related work as required.

 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

 

Sorts and shelves materials, assists at public service desks; inspects materials for wear and damage and does basic mending of same; keeps books and periodical shelves in order; assists in taking inventory of books; performs basic custodial tasks as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

 Knowledge of: Basic clerical functions, principles of alphabetical and numerical filing, basic record keeping procedures.

 

Ability to: Sort material quickly and accurately in alphabetic or numeric order; follow oral and written directions; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to library patrons, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

 

Must be physically able to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, kneel, push wheeled carts, lift, reach overhead, go up and down stairs, and use a step stool.

 

Availability for evening and Saturday shifts is required.

 

Age: Minimum age of sixteen.

 

Education: Completion of the tenth grade in high school.
