The Librarian I/II position available is an hourly, non-benefited, assignment which operates out of the Library|Parks & Recreation Center and may also include shifts at the Grand Avenue Branch Library.

Under the direction of the IS Operations & Support Assistant Manager, the Database Administrator architects, tests, implements, maintains, and documents Agency databases. The database administrator collaborates closely with IS development and Agency operations personnel to provide backend database solutions for custom applications, including real-time, scheduling, and settlement programs. The database administrator troubleshoots and provides solutions for database problems.

Level III
This classification supports and maintains the Agency’s database infrastructure and related applications. Administers all database objects, including but not limited to schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, and views. Performs database re-organizations as needed to improve performance. Performs impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects before implementing significant schema changes. Ensures security for all databases by creating roles and associated privileges. Controls and monitors user access to databases. This is a journey-level position and is given minimal direction in job duties and responsibilities.  

Level IV
Architects and designs the Agency’s database infrastructure and ensures the highest levels of availability. Leads database projects to establish new database architectures. Oversees upgrades and implementations of new databases or related software.   Position can perform all lower level requirements and works independently with very little direction May be called upon to provide reports or present to the Agency’s Information Technology Committee. May direct the work of lower classifications.     

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position requires that the incumbent reports for work on time and maintains satisfactory attendance in accordance with Agency policy; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives to meetings and appointments on time; Performs special assignments for the Assistant Manager, Information Services or others as assigned. Responsibilities:
Design, create and maintain all Oracle databases required for development, testing, and production usage. 

Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot Database server software for both stand-alone instances and Real Application Clusters (RAC). Includes patching both Oracle and Windows. 

Administer all database objects, including schemas, tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, constraints, packages, and procedures. This includes creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) and primary objects (tables, views, indexes). Manage the sharing of resources between applications. 

Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, servers, applications and development tools. Open technical support cases with support as needed and serve as primary support contact for NCPA. 

Perform capacity planning for all databases. Work closely with IS storage and system administration staff to plan and allocate database system storage. 

Experienced with creating, managing, and maintaining data warehouse technologies.

Perform ongoing monitoring and tuning of all database instances and Windows servers to optimize database performance and reliability. 

Plan and implement backup and recovery of Agency databases. Maintain remote standby databases using archive logs.

Implement and enforce security for all of the Databases through creating and maintaining users and roles, and assigning privileges. Control and monitor user access to the database. 

Perform database re-organizations as required to improve performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database. Modify the database structure from information given by application developers. Gather statistics, create indexes, create or expand tablespaces as needed. 

Perform SQL and PL/SQL tuning and performance monitoring. 

Set up and maintain documentation and standards for database practices and procedures. 

Provide technical support to application developers and database users. 

Perform impact analysis of changes to be made to database objects. Approve and implement/oversee significant schema changes and changes to database design. 

Provide support during non-standard hours (on an as-needed basis, on-call 24x7x365). 

Provide a strategic database direction for the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Level III:
Education and/or Experience
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and five or more years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Level IV: 
Education and/or Experience

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Under general supervision of the Parks Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in maintaining and repairing parks facilities, city buildings, city grounds, swimming pool. 

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule; not-to-exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year. 

Temporary Parks Maintenance Worker - Employee will be assigned 28 - 40 hours a week until the 1,000 hours are completed or season has concluded. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Mowing, weed-eating, edges, trimming. 
• Cleaning facilities, playgrounds, swimming pool, restrooms and buildings.

This department is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Power Resources Specialist I/II position to support the Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division.

This position is part of an exciting fast-paced team responsible for mitigating risks and managing a power portfolio comprised of hundreds of megawatts of renewable energy projects.

The selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Evaluate, review, and validate the accuracy of market positions and risk metrics such as mark-to-market, value at risk, gross margin at risk.
• Perform quantitative and analytical data modeling to quantify risks, evaluate risk reduction strategies, aid strategic/ operational decision making and provide insights.
• Update, manage and validate accuracy of Power BI business intelligence dashboards related to energy risk management such as risk limits, forward prices, collateral.
• Execute monthly and ad-hoc data reporting and quantitative modeling tasks.
• Validate and forecast collateral calls from counterparties and the CAISO and verify accuracy of collateral records.
• Collaborate with different divisions and IT department to support the build and implementation of data repository.
• Provide analytical support for power purchase and sale agreements and power supply audits.
• Compile reports, summaries, and presentations to communicate findings to management.
• Understand SJCE Risk Management Policy and Regulations and manage reviews and amendments.
• Support the development of middle office procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate energy market risks and market events. Develop and share knowledge of energy industry trends, new developments, and emerging risks.

The Risk Management and Contracts Administration Division is responsible for providing independent oversight of the risks in transacting for energy products and services as well as ensuring compliance with adopted risk management policies and procedures. This unit provides strategic support to facilitate the development and execution of various contracts, and also manages the contracts administration and settlements function.

Salary Information:

Power Resources Specialist I is $99,503.04 - $121,255.68.

Power Resources Specialist II is $108,282.72-$131,913.60.

This range includes an approximate five (5%) ongoing on-pensionable pay. Actual pay shall be determined by the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The City of Patterson is seeking to fill one (1) part-time vacancy for a Facility Attendant in the Recreation Department and to establish an eligibility list.

Duties include, but are not limited to: under direct supervision, performs a variety of facility related tasks to ensure effective operations at the Recreation and Community Services Complex and related facilities and parks. Prepares facilities for use; works with users during events; provides set-up and arrangements for classes, meetings, and public and private events; registers participants for recreational programs; assists with cleaning and maintaining of Community Services' facilities including removing and disposing of trash, sweeping, and mopping of floors.  Provides staff support for recreation events and programs. 

This is a part-time position with hours up to 19 hours per week.  Must be available to work nights and weekends with varying shifts and schedules.

To perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled horticulture tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of parks, pools, recreation, and cemetery facilities and buildings.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Community Services Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The City of Woodland is looking to fill a Park Maintenance Worker I/II position in the
Community Services Department. The Ideal Candidate for the current vacancy is someone
who has a good understanding of many aspects of the maintenance of facilities, parks, janitorial, and horticulture. This position requires a “team player” with good interpersonal, time
management, and communication skills. The Ideal Candidate must be highly self-motivated,
able to work independently with minimal oversite, demonstrate good judgement, as well as be
organized, flexible, approachable, resourceful, and a positive team contributor on a
consistent basis. This position will also require the selected candidate work weekends,
standby and overtime as necessary.

Park Maintenance Worker I:

This is an entry-level classification in the park maintenance worker series. Positions in this class normally perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties. May be required to work any shift, including a regular work-shift that includes weekends and holidays, and routinely participate in a weeklong stand-by shift. Park Maintenance Worker I will usually exercise less independence, discretion and judgment on matters related to work procedures and methods.

Park Maintenance Worker II:

This is the journey level in the park maintenance worker series. This class differs from Parks Maintenance Worker I in that incumbent performs more complex parks maintenance duties, including the requirement to work any shift, weekends, and holidays, to work independently, exercise judgment, and operate the full range of tools and mechanical equipment related to a specific assignment. The incumbent Park Maintenance Worker II may also be expected to assist in the oversight and training of less experienced personnel. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Park Maintenance I level, or when filled from the outside requires prior work experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Performing general grounds cleaning, including emptying trash receptacles, mopping, sweeping, and raking City parks, ball field maintenance/set up, and Cemetery as needed. Maintain irrigation, maintain synthetic turf, mow, cultivate, prune, weed, renovate, and fertilize grass, plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs. Operate power mowers, turf groomers, chain saws, rototillers, aerators, hedgers, spreaders, front-end loader, edgers, air compressors, and other equipment. Utilize proper safety precautions related to all performed work, while all safe work procedures i.e., necessary PPE. Drive vehicles and equipment as required. Prepare and maintain athletic fields and related facilities, swimming pools, and cemetery/interment operations.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position, in that the failure of such attendance undermines the City’s ability to provide critical services to the employees, department and the public.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

Install, maintain and replace playground equipment and fences; assemble tables, benches and bleachers. Applying fertilizers and spraying various herbicides and pesticides in City park and recreation areas. Respond to inquiries from the general public. Install, maintain and repair irrigation systems. Assist in setting up community services and special events. Maintain, repair and replace plumbing systems and fixtures such as light switches, motors, wall receptacles, faucets, drinking fountains, water heaters, water closet, urinals, water regulators and pressure valves, and building maintenance as required. Work cooperatively with others. Meet all Standby Program requirements; work any shift including weekends and holidays. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Park Maintenance Worker I:

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  Six (6) months of experience in the care and maintenance of landscapes or facilities.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Park Maintenance Worker II:

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Park Maintenance Worker I in the City of Woodland.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of a California Driver’s License. It is highly desirable to possess a State of California Qualified Applicator Certificate, Category B.

SJPL is recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to administer the library's volunteer programs, organize volunteer activities, and provide support and resources to staff who work directly with volunteers on-site and virtually. The role focuses on drawing upon volunteers' knowledge and motivations to strengthen library events and services. The position will coordinate volunteer assignments and use various tools to develop, evaluate, and promote Library volunteer opportunities.

The Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating and leading the library's volunteer recruitment and recognition efforts throughout the year, as well as overseeing the volunteer screening process, including scheduling, and conducting LiveScan background checks.

In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will serve as a liaison for the San Jose Public Library Foundation , who frequently works with corporate donors to develop group volunteering opportunities at SJPL.

This position will:

• Identify, create, and update training materials and procedural guides for both volunteers and staff.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead volunteer events and community outreach opportunities.
• Develop promotional recruitment and storytelling campaigns to increase the number of volunteers.
• Develop recognition activities for the volunteer program.
• Interview, screen, place, and onboard volunteers.
• Utilize Better Impact, the City's online volunteer management software, to collect and analyze statistics on volunteers, and train and support staff in using these tools.
• Collect and analyze statistics on volunteer programs and trainings
• Assist with developing system-wide volunteer programs.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and stakeholders, such as the San José Public Library Foundation, to facilitate volunteer requests and placements.

The City of Orinda is looking for responsible, courteous individuals who enjoy working in a hands-on environment, can work independently of supervision and have experience dealing tactfully and effectively with members of the public.  The successful applicant will work on a part time basis with a schedule which will include evening and weekend hours, depending upon programs, rentals and events.   

The Facility Attendant performs custodial duties related to the care and cleaning of assigned facilities, performs a wide variety of duties for events, classes and programs, including setting up and tearing down of tables, chairs, equipment and supplies and will perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.

EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting Community Center visitors, serving as a main point of contact during activities and events primarily in evenings, weekends and special events.

Performs custodial duties at assigned facilities which include, but are not limited to cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, stripping and polishing floors; cleaning furniture, woodwork, fixtures, equipment, supplies, doors, windows, walls, walkways, driveways, and facility grounds; disposing of trash.

Set up all necessary equipment and furniture such as tables, chairs, podiums, and A/V equipment for indoor and/or outdoor events.

Inspects facilities and equipment, reports issues in a timely manner to appropriate higher-level staff; performs minor facility maintenance.

Explain and follow City and department policies and procedures.

Provide information and feedback to Facility and Parks Supervisor.

Opens, closes, secures and alarms facilities in compliance with standard procedures.

Supervise and interact with rental guests, responding by assisting with any facility needs.

Assists in monitoring and maintaining equipment and supplies.

May perform clean up duties as needed, including but not limited to:  move and arrange furniture and equipment, restroom cleaning, sweeping and mopping, and garbage pick-up and removal.

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to a High School Diploma.

Experience:  Experience in custodial and facility operations is desirable.

License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License with a demonstrated history of safe driving.

Special Requirements:

Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

Must be willing to work a scheduled variety of hours, which may include evenings, and/or weekends, as needed.

Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to enable the employee to safely lift, move, climb, walk safely on even or uneven grounds, or maneuver in whatever way may be necessary to successfully perform the duties of their position; ability to travel to different sites and locations.

Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment medical exam.  Additionally, individuals working in Parks & Recreation are required to be tested for TB.
