THE DEPARTMENT

The Information Systems and Technology Division is responsible for the City's network infrastructure, cybersecurity, Help Desk support, and daily IT operations. The division supports a full-service city that includes City Administration, Police, Fire, Planning, Public Works, Parks, Beaches, and Recreation departments.

THE POSITION

This is a full-time, professional level position that requires significant administrative, analytical, and technical skills. This position serves as a technical leader, providing complex analytical support.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor physical and virtual network and server infrastructure including hardware, software, real-time monitoring tools, peripherals, and devices ensuring effective performance and proper integration of components and systems with existing architecture; assist in infrastructure changes and upgrades to limit interrupted services.
• Administer automated deployment of software and updates over the network.
• Monitor and maintain security control of City network and server infrastructure; configure and monitor security features and firewall rules; verify and ensure proper user accessibility; identify and address vulnerabilities; research, recommend, and apply security updates as needed.
• Monitor disaster recovery and backup processes and schedules; verify that backups are successful and data can be recovered.
• Ensure database security by preparing access and control policies and procedures and reviewing permissions on a regular basis.
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor City-wide telecommunications systems including voice and data communications infrastructure and equipment; set up and maintain user accounts, access groups, extensions, and voicemail boxes; troubleshoot system-wide outages.
• Work on systems and infrastructure conversion, installation, and maintenance projects, including planning, organizing, and defining project requirements, methods, and end objectives in consultation with end users; coordinate project activities with IT Manager and IT staff, end users, and vendors.
• Maintain information on scheduled systems maintenance, including upgrades and outages.
• Respond to and resolve users’ inquiries and complaints and escalate problems or issues to vendor representatives as needed.
• Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in technology related to systems, network, server, and telecommunications; research, recommend, and evaluate vendor solutions and technologies; implement improvements upon approval.
• Serve as a Disaster Service Worker, as required.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.

This Division Manager will be responsible for approximately 33 staff across three teams. This division is responsible for all operational support of key technology systems such as: Servers, Storage, Data Center, Disaster Recovery, Telephones, and Radios. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is three years of professional level experience in information systems which has included one year of administrative or managerial experience. Experience should include a substantial combination of online applications, data communications, computer operations, operating systems, voice communications and services, and large communications systems.

The Position

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. This position is shared between the Library Department and Parks and Recreation Department and works under the direction of the Community Resource Analyst. The Community Resource Clerk will typically be stationed at the lobby desks on the first and second floors of the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center at 901 Civic Campus Way in South San Francisco, however, may temporarily be assigned to other sites, or to represent the departments at special events. The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC).  The City currently has one opening in this classification, for a position providing programs and services at the GMCLC.

Schedules vary based on the needs of the library system. Both Menlo Park Library locations are open on Saturdays and Sundays, and until 8pm three nights per week. The City of East Palo Alto is seeking a creative, collaborative, and knowledgeable Information Technology (IT) Manager to lead the City’s technology programs. The Information Technology Manager plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and reviews the work of staff performing difficult and complex technical support related to all programs and activities of the Information Technology Division. Under the direct supervision of the IT Director, the IT Support Technician II performs more advanced support for the help desk, applications, and technical support for the Peninsula Library System libraries. The position is part of the Peninsula Library System's IT Unit, called the Peninsula Library Automated Network (PLAN).

This position serves as the primary point of contact for the help desk ticketing system, manages Active Directory accounts, provides desktop support, and offers assistance with Office 365 and list-serv operations.

The position serves as the technical lead for library service applications for the member libraries, including RFID software and hardware, automated material handling and sorting systems (AMH), and providing occasional hands-on support for library check-in equipment. They are responsible for coordinating and managing small to large scale projects.

The IT Support Technician II is the journeyman level position in the IT Support Technician series. The IT Support Technician II works under general supervision and performs higher level IT support duties to support libraries and PLAN.
