The City of Sebastopol is seeking an engaging, inclusive, and talented leader well-versed in current and long-range planning, affordable housing, and development activities, administers housing and zoning codes, and serves as a liaison to the business community, including developing economic development strategies. Under administrative direction, the Community Development Director oversees all functions and activities of the Community Development Department. In addition, the Community Development Director may also oversee the building, inspection, and code enforcement functions of the City. 

This position coordinates Community Development Department activities with other City departments, officials, contractors, consultants, outside agencies, and the public to ensure cohesive and efficient development and planning processes. The Community Development Director reflects a demonstrative cultural competency working with all community members regardless of cultural differences or circumstances including race, ethnicity, religion, language, gender identity, age, marital and familial status, sexual orientation, diverse physical and learning abilities, socioeconomic status, and other identities. This is an “at will” classification serving at the pleasure of and receiving administrative direction from the City Manager. This role's duties allow for a broad scope of independent decision-making within legal, policy, and regulatory guidelines. It involves exercising general direction and supervision over professional, technical, and administrative support staff.

The City of Rocklin is currently accepting applications for a full-time Landscape Services Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Landscape Services Worker performs a variety of landscapes and/or recreational facility maintenance and repair work; provides maintenance support to the Landscape Services Division; and performs related work as required. Examples of duties are:

• Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction and repair of landscapes, and park facilities such as installing and maintaining signs, erecting safety structures (i.e., barricades), installing park structures (i.e., benches, tables, awnings), building and maintaining fences and removing and pouring concrete.
• Inspects assigned landscape areas for safety, appearance and vandalism.
• Cleans and clears landscapes, facilities, structures and playing fields of debris and potentially dangerous conditions.
• Inspects and repairs playground equipment, picnic tables, barbecues, and other related park equipment.
• Plants, mows, prunes, and maintains turf, trees, shrubs, and plants; clears sites of weeds.
• Prepares and maintains athletic fields and related facilities; grades, fills and shapes baseball diamonds.
• Performs minor maintenance and repairs on equipment of park facilities such as replacing light bulbs, repairing electrical equipment (i.e., scoreboards), and laying conduit and pulling wire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade

AND

One (1) year of experience in the maintenance, modification, and repair of parks, medians, and landscaped areas.

License Requirements

• A valid California Class C driver license or higher with a satisfactory driving record is required at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
•  A valid California Class A driver license with a satisfactory driving record is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• A Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certificate issued by the International Municipal Signal Association (I.M.S.A.), or successful completion of the Traffic Control Technician-CA State Specific Training Course thru the American Traffic Safety Services Association is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• Qualified Pesticide Applicator Certificate issued by the Department of Pesticide Regulation is desirable.

The position description:

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking to one vacancy for the Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) for the Adult Outpatient Department to provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients to
facilitate behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group
settings. The BHS will demonstrate and coach clients to promote and reinforce the use of effective coping
strategies and techniques based on individual needs and treatment plans; perform outreach and
provide linkages and referrals to a variety of behavioral health, community, and social services,
resources, and systems of care.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, family, and collateral rehabilitative support services to facilitate behavior modification including skill building, needs assessment, self-care/safety, and coping strategies and techniques; may provide case management services in the office and in the field.

• Develops, monitors, and evaluates client rehabilitative and case management goals and increases/decreases in targeted behavior according to client needs; monitors goal progress/regression.

• Provides linkages, resources, and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources.

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

• Plans and facilitates and/or co-facilitates group sessions for clients and community members focused on skill building; tracks client attendance and follows-up with individual clients, as necessary.

• Provides advocacy for clients to ensure inclusion in all aspects of the community including socialization, employment, education, and housing to meet client needs.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one individual to serve as a Medical Assistant for the Medication Support Team. The Medical Assistant performs a variety of routine to moderately difficult clerical, administrative, and technical duties in support of licensed medical professionals; takes vital signs, obtains complete client medical histories, and performs various support duties such as entering data and information into various databases and computer systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Assists in the examination, treatment, and care of clients in an outpatient setting, according to instructions from licensed medical staff, Authority procedure, and scope of authority.

• Takes client vital signs, weight and height, and documents basic medical information obtained from client including medical and medication histories; reports any observed abnormalities or changes in client vitals to appropriate staff.

• Receives, logs, and stores oral, injectable, and sample medications; monitors inventory levels and expiration dates; discards of expired medications according to policy.

• Assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a  psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.

• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.

• Participates in interdisciplinary team treatment planning, staff training functions, utilization and peer review activities, and clinical supervision.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Pacifica Police Department is responsible for all functions related to law enforcement and crime prevention and is made up of several divisions that carry out specialized duties to help the department perform as a cohesive whole. THE POSITION

The current opening is for a full-time position and is under the direction of the Police Records Supervisor. The Police Records Clerk will provide a wide variety of clerical, typing, and computer data entry tasks related to Police records; maintaining accurate Police statistics, records, and files; conducting business and transactions with the public, in person and by telephone; is available for occasional night and/or weekend duty as required, and performing other related work as required.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for all Police statistical record keeping.

To perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled horticulture tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of parks, pools, recreation, and cemetery facilities and buildings.  The purpose of this recruitment is to fill a current vacancy in the Community Services Department, as well as establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The City of Woodland is looking to fill a Park Maintenance Worker I/II position in the
Community Services Department. The Ideal Candidate for the current vacancy is someone
who has a good understanding of many aspects of the maintenance of facilities, parks, janitorial, and horticulture. This position requires a “team player” with good interpersonal, time
management, and communication skills. The Ideal Candidate must be highly self-motivated,
able to work independently with minimal oversite, demonstrate good judgement, as well as be
organized, flexible, approachable, resourceful, and a positive team contributor on a
consistent basis. This position will also require the selected candidate work weekends,
standby and overtime as necessary.

Park Maintenance Worker I:

This is an entry-level classification in the park maintenance worker series. Positions in this class normally perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled duties. May be required to work any shift, including a regular work-shift that includes weekends and holidays, and routinely participate in a weeklong stand-by shift. Park Maintenance Worker I will usually exercise less independence, discretion and judgment on matters related to work procedures and methods.

Park Maintenance Worker II:

This is the journey level in the park maintenance worker series. This class differs from Parks Maintenance Worker I in that incumbent performs more complex parks maintenance duties, including the requirement to work any shift, weekends, and holidays, to work independently, exercise judgment, and operate the full range of tools and mechanical equipment related to a specific assignment. The incumbent Park Maintenance Worker II may also be expected to assist in the oversight and training of less experienced personnel. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Park Maintenance I level, or when filled from the outside requires prior work experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

Performing general grounds cleaning, including emptying trash receptacles, mopping, sweeping, and raking City parks, ball field maintenance/set up, and Cemetery as needed. Maintain irrigation, maintain synthetic turf, mow, cultivate, prune, weed, renovate, and fertilize grass, plants, trees, flowers, and shrubs. Operate power mowers, turf groomers, chain saws, rototillers, aerators, hedgers, spreaders, front-end loader, edgers, air compressors, and other equipment. Utilize proper safety precautions related to all performed work, while all safe work procedures i.e., necessary PPE. Drive vehicles and equipment as required. Prepare and maintain athletic fields and related facilities, swimming pools, and cemetery/interment operations.  Regular, predictable, consistent and timely attendance is an essential function of the position, in that the failure of such attendance undermines the City’s ability to provide critical services to the employees, department and the public.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS 

Install, maintain and replace playground equipment and fences; assemble tables, benches and bleachers. Applying fertilizers and spraying various herbicides and pesticides in City park and recreation areas. Respond to inquiries from the general public. Install, maintain and repair irrigation systems. Assist in setting up community services and special events. Maintain, repair and replace plumbing systems and fixtures such as light switches, motors, wall receptacles, faucets, drinking fountains, water heaters, water closet, urinals, water regulators and pressure valves, and building maintenance as required. Work cooperatively with others. Meet all Standby Program requirements; work any shift including weekends and holidays. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Park Maintenance Worker I:

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  Six (6) months of experience in the care and maintenance of landscapes or facilities.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of a valid California Driver’s License.

Park Maintenance Worker II:

Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:  One (1) year of experience performing duties comparable to those of a Park Maintenance Worker I in the City of Woodland.

License and Certificate:  Required upon hire, possession of a California Driver’s License. It is highly desirable to possess a State of California Qualified Applicator Certificate, Category B.

Deferred Compensation:                    
Choice of deferred compensation plans (Traditional and Roth) with 1% City-match effective July 2024.  After successful completion of probation, new hires are also eligible for a 2% City contribution.
