The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The incumbent’s duties include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, batch runs and wire transfers, tracking and maintaining manual and computerized accounting and financial records, establishing and updating vendor records, and performing related duties as assigned. The incumbent will be assigned to the Accounts Payable and Program Procurement Support responsibilities.

The Technician will have knowledge of and proficiency in: Terminology and practices of financial and account document processing and record-keeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, and business licensing; Methods and techniques or preparing and maintaining records of financial transactions; Methods and techniques of researching and resolving accounting transactional discrepancies; Business arithmetic and basic accounting and financial management knowledge; Record-keeping principles and procedures; Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and ordinances relevant to the area(s) of responsibility; and related areas necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

City offices operate on a 9/80 schedule. This position is located at City Hall, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue; operational hours are 7:30 am-5:00 pm.

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is the county’s largest provider of affordable housing, helping make rental housing safe and affordable for approximately 20,000 low-income households.

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an experienced leader who will lead, manage, organize, plan and oversee the staff and activities of the Agency’s Innovation and Impact team including developing housing policy, program design, implementation and evaluation. Will work collaboratively with the leadership team and the community to bring meaningful opportunities and impact to the communities SCCHA serves.

The Assistant Director of Innovation and Impact plays an important role in leading the policy work and resident community initiatives, from innovation through evaluation.  This position will oversee and manage the Agency’s Moving to Work (MTW) Plan process in partnership with the leadership team and stakeholders, and requires knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to housing programs. 

As a member of our team, we are looking for a candidate that has a strong understanding and connection to SCCHA’s resident community needs and its supporting partners. Direct experience in community engagement, program and policy design and implementation, and evaluation of impact is highly desired. 

What Our Team Is Looking For:

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include: 

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in social services, behavioral sciences, public or business administration or related field.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible management experience in government assistance program and resident services administration and evaluation with three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.  
• A master’s degree is preferred.

SJPL is recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to administer the library's volunteer programs, organize volunteer activities, and provide support and resources to staff who work directly with volunteers on-site and virtually. The role focuses on drawing upon volunteers' knowledge and motivations to strengthen library events and services. The position will coordinate volunteer assignments and use various tools to develop, evaluate, and promote Library volunteer opportunities.

The Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating and leading the library's volunteer recruitment and recognition efforts throughout the year, as well as overseeing the volunteer screening process, including scheduling, and conducting LiveScan background checks.

In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will serve as a liaison for the San Jose Public Library Foundation , who frequently works with corporate donors to develop group volunteering opportunities at SJPL.

This position will:

• Identify, create, and update training materials and procedural guides for both volunteers and staff.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead volunteer events and community outreach opportunities.
• Develop promotional recruitment and storytelling campaigns to increase the number of volunteers.
• Develop recognition activities for the volunteer program.
• Interview, screen, place, and onboard volunteers.
• Utilize Better Impact, the City's online volunteer management software, to collect and analyze statistics on volunteers, and train and support staff in using these tools.
• Collect and analyze statistics on volunteer programs and trainings
• Assist with developing system-wide volunteer programs.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and stakeholders, such as the San José Public Library Foundation, to facilitate volunteer requests and placements.

The Community Development Department of the City of Dixon has been authorized to fill a full-time position of Associate Planner.  This classification performs a variety of highly complex professional work in current planning, housing, advance planning, and environmental planning including research and analysis, report writing, plan review; permit coordination, managing complex projects, data collection and analysis, information dissemination; assists with management of consultant contracts and work programs as assigned and performs field inspection.

Future Salary COLA:  4% increase (eff July 2024)

This is in the professional planning series and competent to independently perform the full scope of duties required, with minimal supervision from the Community Development Director or designee. Supervision received is characterized by general supervisory direction and control intended to define objectives and problems.  Control over work methods is general, rather than detailed in nature.  Supervision given will involve training and providing lead direction to professional, technical and clerical staff.

This classification is distinguished from that of Assistant Planner by the greater complexity and political sensitivity of the assignments received, higher level of experience and knowledge and greater independence.

Exam Process: A limited number of candidates whose applications indicate that they, among those competing, are better qualified in terms of related education, training and experience will be invited to participate in a written exam and an interview process (weighted 100%). The most qualified candidates from this process will be placed on an employment eligibility list. The City of Santa Clara is recruiting for the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer for its Electric Utility, Silicon Valley Power (SVP).  Reporting to the Chief Electric Utility Officer (CEUO), the Electric Utility Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior management position in the City's unclassified service responsible for the oversight and direction for the fiscal, administrative, and managerial operations of the utility. The COO has supervisory and support responsibilities for the utility's divisions: Utility Operations, Customer Development and Project Management, Resource Planning and Customer Engagement, and Business Services. The COO will help guide SVP through the extraordinary period of growth related by doubling the existing capacity of the electrical system to meet new customer demands over the next 10 years. In addition to the expansion, the COO will work to ensure new renewable resources are added to meet the City's and State’s climate goals. The COO is responsible for forecasting service requirements and for planning, organizing and directing assigned resources of the electric utility division in order to meet those requirements. This includes developing and administering the department operations and capital improvement budgets. The COO is expected to exercise critical thinking and detail oriented oversight in ensuring that utility operations are smooth, efficient, and compliant, with responsibility for results including costs, methods, and staffing.
