San Mateo County Libraries (SMCL) is currently offering an opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed, energetic and flexible manager to join a progressive, future-oriented team. Under general direction from the Library Director and/or Deputy Directors, the Library Services Manager - Employee Services will serve as the organization’s subject matter expert regarding a variety of personnel processes. While this recruitment may be used to fill any Library Services manager vacancies, the current opening is for a Library Services Manager – Employee Services, focused on the employee experience within the Library. Education and Experience:

Any combination of experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources, business or public administration, or a related field, and five (5) years increasingly responsible personnel experience in public sector, including two years experience in a management capacity. A master’s degree in a related field is highly desirable.

The City of Orinda Planning Department seeks a strong customer-service oriented Planning Technician to primarily staff the Planning Counter and process code-enforcement cases.  Depending on experience, the successful candidate may also gain opportunities to assist with various current and long-range planning tasks.  This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Planning.

Circulation Services staff perform a variety of clerical and office support duties in a teamwork-oriented environment.  Primary responsibilities include providing in-person service at a Circulation Desk and over the phone, checking materials in and out, resolving problems such as lost and damaged or claims returned items, and registering or updating library cards.  Hourly Library Aides also assist full-time staff in tracking overdue materials, collection notices, and hold requests.

The City of Redwood City invites applications for Code Enforcement I/II in the Community Development  Department.

THE POSITION

The Code Enforcement Officer I or II is a part of the Building Division in the Community Development Department. This position will be filled at either Officer I or Officer II level, depending on qualifications of the final candidate. Under the direction of the Building Official and with day-to-day supervision by Senior Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Team, this position will work to ensure compliance with the Redwood City Municipal Code, ordinances and zoning regulations; and investigate and document violations. The Code Enforcement Program seeks to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and work environment. These duties will require coordination with other City staff in Community Development, Public Works, Fire and Police Departments, as well as other agencies, and the public.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to: Work closely with homeowners, businesses and community groups to enhance the quality of neighborhoods through public relations, community building, and code enforcement related educational activities; Maintain effective and cooperative relations with the public; Investigate complaints of violations of City code, zoning ordinances, sign regulations and related laws, ordinances, and codes; Document complaints, inspections, actions, administrative remedies and compliance; Issue courtesy notices, notices of violations, correction notices, and stop work orders, as appropriate; Conduct routine follow-up investigations to ensure compliance with applicable codes, notify concerned parties of action taken. Code Enforcement Officer II will be required to handle the more complex type of Code Enforcement violation such as dealing with Zoning and illegal construction cases.

The Position

The City of South San Francisco seeks customer service-oriented individuals to join the Community Resource Team at the new Library | Parks and Recreation Center. The Department

The South San Francisco Public Library is a full-service library committed to delivering quality services to a diverse community.  Library services are available at three sites, including the Main Library (901 Civic Campus Way), the Grand Avenue Library (306 Walnut Avenue) and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (520 Tamarack Lane).  Lifelong literacy services are provided by Project Read at the Main Library and the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center (GMCLC).  The City currently has one opening in this classification, for a position providing programs and services at the GMCLC.
