Under general direction of the Superintendent of Libraries, the Supervising Librarian develops, implements and evaluates children and teen services to the public with a focus on community engagement and innovation. He or she provides strong leadership for children and teen services to deliver services, programs and resources in response to community needs. The Supervising Librarian manages a high-performing team of 5 full-time and 2 part-time librarians.

The Milpitas Police Department is a full service department, with 110 employees (86 sworn). The department provides public safety to 71,000 residents in a 14.5 square mile urban area. A wide variety of services include a SWAT Team, K-9 Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Detective Bureau, and Traffic Safety Unit. Most officers work a 4-10 plan.
