DEFINITION

Under the general direction of a Bureau Deputy Fire Chief to participate as a staff member managing a wide range of fire department activities that may include supervising shift assignments; administrative assignments including planning, organizing and directing programs toward accomplishing goals and objectives of the department; to oversee and direct daily operations of the department; and other duties as assigned.

THE POSITION

The City of Pacifica is recruiting for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I/II/III at the Calera Creek Water Recycling Plant. Under direct or general supervision of the Plant Manager or Assistant Superintendent - Operations, operates and controls wastewater treatment plant and reclamation and recycled water facilities; performs preventative and routine corrective maintenance on a variety of equipment, facilities and related appurtenances; and performs related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the full journey-level classification in the wastewater treatment plant operator series. Incumbents independently perform the full range of wastewater treatment and reclamation and recycled water facilities and equipment operations and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant systems and equipment. Positions at this level work independently, exercise judgment and initiative and receive occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise. This class is distinguished from the Lead Plant Operator in that the latter is responsible for providing technical and functional direction to operations staff and is capable of performing the most complex operations and maintenance duties assigned to the division.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

Receives supervision and direction from the Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager or designee. Exercises lead oversight, including provision of technical supervision, assignment of work and/or the training of less experienced staff.

The Administrative Services Supervisor oversees and coordinates the Library’s internal administrative operations that include, but are not limited to, finance, accounting, human resources, and Board Administration. The position supervises and directs administrative staff, and performs complex, confidential, and responsible administrative work. Position Description: 

The County of San Mateo is seeking a capable and multifaceted Assistant Director to assist the Director of the Family Justice Center with strategic planning, program development, and management of the County’s new Center.

Under the Leadership of the Family Justice Center Director, the County is working with community partners and stakeholders to develop a one-stop holistic service and support center for families and survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse. The mission of the Center is to support survivors and their families by creating a single destination to receive crucial services and support.

The San Mateo County Family Justice Center is a County-run multi-agency, multi-disciplinary service center where both public and private partner agencies assign staff on a full-time or part-time basis to provide services from one location. The Center’s focus will be on reducing the number of times survivors tell their story, reducing the number of places they must go for help, and through active collaboration with community-based organizations, increasing the quality of services and support they receive.

This is an opportunity for a committed public servant with extensive program management experience to successfully navigate the opportunities and challenges in developing and building new programs, collaborations, and a space that achieves the County’s goal of providing comprehensive, wrap-around services to victims of violence. The Assistant Director will be instrumental in carrying out the vision and goals by working alongside the Director.

Examples Of Duties

As the Assistant Director, you will have the opportunity to:

· Participate in the planning process to establish the Center which is modeled after successful Family Justice Centers across the country.

· Join in the effort to establish interagency collaborations.

· Engage with survivors to gather input and feedback that will inform the development and operation of the Family Justice Center, ensuring that their experiences and needs shape the center’s services and policies.

· Assist in facilitating focus groups and conducting best practice research as needed.

· Consult with County and external subject matter experts on relevant program issues.

· Participate in securing contracts with outside vendors, consultants, or organizations.

· Provide oversight for the program budget that ensures the accomplishment of program and service objectives within budget restrictions.

· Prepare detailed written reports, policies, procedures, and contracts.

· Assist in completion of phase one of the Family Justice Center

Requirements: 

This project requires extensive research, careful planning, and successful collaborations. As such, the selected Assistant Director will need the following competencies:

AC Transit is seeking a Market Research Project Manager II. Under general direction serves as the project manager leading a variety of complex market research projects, functions, and activities. Incumbents in this position provide actionable data-driven insight informing and aligning strategic business decisions with customer sentiment.

This classification is distinguished from other marketing and communications classifications by the assigned project management responsibilities leading District-wide, market research projects and studies of considerable size and complexity. REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:

Prepares, reviews, and maintains a variety of project-related information and documentation, including project schedules, Statements of Work (SOWs), status reports, detailing issues, risks, and deliverables; monitors agreements and projects for compliance with relevant codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
Attends and participates in professional group meetings and committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of project management and market research. Provides technical and functional direction to professional, technical, and contract staff and participates in the formation, planning, review, and management of assigned projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a field directly related to the area to which assigned. For the Market Research Project Manager position the following are applicable fields of study: business administration, sociology, statistics, market research, communications, public administration, marketing, or a related field. Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the professional field required by the assigned special projects. The Market Research Project Manager position requires experience in developing and implementing market research, marketing, public information, or communications programs with an emphasis on data collection, market analysis, and detailing the customer journey or two (2) years that involved responsibilities at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Project Manager I. Years of experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a two for one basis; two (2) years of experience may be submitted for one (1) year of education).

The Position:
This is complex lead level work involved in a central purchasing department related to the procurement of goods and services, including preparation of formal bid documents, facilitation of the activities of the bid process, selection of vendors, volume buying, inventory, assessing availability and quality of goods and services, and routine to complex procurements for the entire District according to prescribed methods. Public contact is extensive, primarily involving District and college staff at all levels, outside vendors, contractors, outside business representatives, other educational institutions, and external auditors for the purpose of exchanging product, procedural, timeline, and workflow information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to interpret policies and procedures, and to provide input into the resolution of frequent minor and occasional major problems that occur. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Physical Requirements:

The Position:
The Accountant performs professional work involved in first line supervision of accounting functions, complex account development, maintenance, modification, and reporting. Under direction, the position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles to analyze, maintain, reconcile and verify a variety of budgetary, accounting and other fiscal records. The position supervises daily operations in a variety of functional accounting areas and maintains adequate oversight and internal controls over such operations. Public contact is extensive and involves staff at various levels within the organization, local government agencies and other outside entities for the purpose of exchanging technical accounting procedural and policy information. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity are required to analyze data and develop resolutions to a variety of minor and major problems that occur. The consequences of errors in judgment can be costly in employee time, public relations and/or institutional funding; however, administrative controls limit the risk of serious consequences in loss of revenue. An Accountant can direct the work of accounting paraprofessional, clerical and other staff as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses a variety of spreadsheet and other software to analyze complex financial, statistical data
• • Composes and prepares correspondence, recommendations and reports using a variety of computer software
• Posts revenue, abatement, expenses, accounts receivable and liabilities to the ledger
• Monitors and records various investments, certificates of deposit, and other fund instruments as assigned
• Monitors, reconciles and balances expenditure and revenue control accounts and general ledger accounts
• Provides regular financial reports
• Researches, compiles data for, and prepares complex fiscal reports to local, state, and federal agencies as required
• Provides input into the development and modification of database programs, screens, data formats and record keeping
• Prepares cash reconciliations
• Prepares monthly income analysis summaries, cash flow statements, and fund balance statements as needed
• Maintains chart of accounts
• Sets up and maintains database and other online resources of data
• Plans and reviews report data and conclusions with management staff
• Monitors and evaluates performance of internal and external computerized financial record systems and develops recommendations, in conjunction with information technology staff, to implement system improvements and upgrades and to maintain effective integration of systems
