A Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission of the Town of Danville is hereby established. The Commission shall consist of eight (8) regular members, one (1) of which shall be a Youth Commissioner as defined in Section 2-10.12 of this chapter, and one (1) alternate member, all of whom shall be appointed by the Town Council.

The Town Council created the Youth Poet position in April 2022 to serve as a public advocate for the appreciation and advancement of the literary arts, particularly poetry, reading poetry for civic events and dedications.
