This is an on call, temporary, non-benefited position in our Urban Search and Rescue Warehouse in East Palo Alto working between 10-30 hours a week. This is an entry-level position. The After School Instructor will plan, prepare, and instruct recreation activities (Instructor Aides will assist). Activities may include art, cooking, dance, pre-school program and other program areas. Programs are designed for children ages 6–12 years of age (school grades 2nd to 6th). Job site placement: Brier, Cabrillo, or Grimmer Elementary.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (These duties are a general description and are not all inclusive.)
Instruct children and adults (primarily 5-12 years of age) in beginning to intermediate sports camps or programs, such as Badminton, Basketball, Baseball, Cricket, Football, Softball, Soccer, Tennis, etc. Class content should provide basic and/or more advanced game mechanics, strategies, and the rules of sports, depending on the student level of skill. Class must emphasize the importance of good sportsmanship and team play. The goal is to have fun and develop a skill.
