DEFINITION

Perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities for the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department, its Director and/or managers and supervisors to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.  The incumbent should be organized, detail oriented, accurate and adept with various computer software.  Perform routine correspondence, field public inquiries, maintain departmental files consistent with the Town’s records retention policy; schedule appointments and meetings, procure supplies, assist with data entry and provide support related to the review, production, and distribution of staff reports.

Receives direction from assigned management personnel. May exercise technical supervision over other clerical positions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform general clerical duties related to assigned functional area, including formatting, copying, collating, compiling, binding and distributing simple and complex reports
• Type, format and edit letters, memoranda, staff reports, marketing materials, and public notifications and other documents.
• Compile and maintain complex, extensive paper, and electronic records and files; act as a resource for other employees on the material in files and records maintained or processed
• Assist with simple analysis as needed such as entering data and creating simple charts in Excel spreadsheets or entering data in the enterprise-wide financial software
• Order and maintain office supply inventories and ensure office equipment in working order
• Determine and manage priorities for multiple tasks to meet assigned deadlines

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:           

• Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
• Working knowledge of enterprise-wide financial software preferred
• Bookkeeping principles and procedures; business mathematics
• Strong command of English language; spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Type accurately at 45 words per minute

Ability to:      

• Communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form
• Understand and follow a variety of oral and written instructions with minimal supervision
• Apply operating rules and procedures of assigned department
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with colleagues

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Experience:

Four years (4) of experience performing duties comparable to those of an Office Assistant, including one year of standard bookkeeping duties.

OR

Two years (2) of experience performing standard clerical duties, including usage of Microsoft Office Suite.

Education:     

The equivalent of the successful completion of twelfth grade; college degree preferred.

DEFINITION

Develop, organize, and implement delivery of recreation and social services to the citizens of Danville in accordance with program objectives set forth by the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department. Perform professional duties in Community Centers, Village Theatre and Art Gallery, and/or Teen Centers, as assigned.

Receives direction from a Program Supervisor.  Exercises supervision over Program Assistants and other program personnel, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plan, implement and evaluate programs, events and services.
• Assist in recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating part-time personnel and volunteers.
• Conduct and attend a variety of training seminars, staff meetings, and community meetings.
• Recruit and orient contractual instructors and develop and monitor contractual service agreements.
• Prepare memos, correspondence, reports and public information in a variety of forms.
• Represent the Recreation, Arts and Community Services Department and Town to citizens, advisory bodies and community organizations and serve in a liaison role, as assigned.
• Conduct outreach activities and interpret Town policies to the public.
• Maintain accurate records and compile program information and other data.
• Assist in monitoring facilities and equipment.
• Prepare and monitor program operating and revenue budgets; monitor expenditures and payroll in accordance with established procedures.
• Assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the Program Supervisor, as needed. 

Specific to Youth/Teen Services:

Program Coordinator will be responsible for implementing a variety of recreational, social and educational programs and services for youth, ages preschool through high school.  Work closely with the Town's Police Services Department, School District, community and human services agencies.  Motivate and facilitate various youth groups.

Specific to Sports & Fitness and Facility Management

Responsible for the development and implementation of sports programming, including aquatics, and organizing a variety of recreational sports leagues for youth and adults.  Work closely with the school district.  Supervises seasonal Aquatics program to include staff training and in-services. Requires a basic understanding of sports terminology, concepts, and rules. Responsible for sports & fitness fee classes offered in the Danville Activity Guide.  Support facility management through facility rentals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

• Principles and practices of recreation programming.
• Human development as it relates to planning recreation and leisure programs and activities for the public.
• Leadership, group dynamics, and facilitation concepts and techniques.
• Safety practices as related to the assigned program/activity area.

Ability to:

• Develop, implement and evaluate innovative programs effectively.
• Supervise and motivate participants, part-time personnel and volunteers.
• Communicate effectively with Town officials, the public, and the media.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
• Monitor program budget.
• Work flexible hours, including nights and/or weekends, as needed.

A Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, public administration, or closely related field.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver's License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. First Aid and CPR certification is required but may be obtained during probationary period.

• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure parts and equipment.

The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The incumbent’s duties include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, batch runs and wire transfers, tracking and maintaining manual and computerized accounting and financial records, establishing and updating vendor records, and performing related duties as assigned. The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem- solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources. 

The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community. With input from local, older adults (age 55 years+) as our guide, the AFS team provides a continuum of supportive services, from health promotion activities to home-based end of life care. AFS has a Senior InfoLine that is answered in 4 languages (Farsi, English, Spanish and Chinese) that is often an entry point.

DefinitionUnder administrative direction from the Human Services Director, plans, organizes and directs a Division of the Human Services Department which provides specialized family services; and serves as a member of the department's management team.

Class Characteristics
This professional management classification in the Human Services Department may be assigned as Youth and Family Services Administrator, Aging and Family Services Administrator or Family Resource Center Administrator. Incumbent follows general guidelines or professional and administrative standards in accomplishing assignments; it is characterized by the responsibility to develop and implement mental and physical health and other social services that support self-sufficiency, strengthen families, help children achieve their optimal development, and help older adults remain independent and engaged in the community for as long as possible. Supervision for the Family Resource Center Administrator is jointly provided by the Human Services Director and leadership team of the Family Resource Center. Review of work is occasional or on a problem basis with incumbents presenting alternative courses for policy decisions. Routine and unusual problems are handled within the context of general plans, broad policies, budgetary limitations and professional standards. Successful performance is measured by total results. This classification is distinguished from Human Services Director by the latter's responsibility to plan, organize and direct the work of the Human Services Department, and from Clinical Supervisor by the latter's responsibility to supervise counseling or social work staff, to monitor the implementation of professional standards, and to provide training and direction to professional staff and interns. The Maintenance Assistant total salary range is $24.74 to $31.56 hourly or $51,459.20 to $65,644.80 annually . The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The Infrastructure Maintenance Division of DOT is looking to fill 16 full-time vacant positions. These positions perform work in the maintenance and repair of concrete, pavement, sewers, landscaping, traffic signs, and traffic markings. Duties include digging holes, trenches, and ditches. They also operate a wide range of hand, mechanical, and power tools, as well as a variety of light and heavy vehicles, trucks, and equipment relevant to work performed, ensuring compliance with safe working practices. Maintenance crews provide services seven days a week. Individuals in this classification may be required to work alternate work shifts, including grave and swing, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for an individual to serve as a Clinical Therapist I/II for the Adult Full-Service Partnership (FSP). The Clinical Therapist I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community with moderate to severe behavioral health clients. The Clinical Therapist will report to a Clinical Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

• Within scope of authority, assesses, diagnoses, and treats a variety of clients with mental health disorders; collaborates with clients and creates individualized treatments plans according to client’s needs and circumstances.

• Initiates and conducts individual, group, and family counseling and biopsychosocial therapy sessions utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities; provides case management services in the office and in the field.

• Performs routine and emergency intake evaluations according to Authority procedure;
  completes appropriate forms and documents relating to the intake process; and prepares medical and demographic case history for use in diagnosis.

• Assists clients and family members in understanding behavioral health diagnosis, contributing factors/causes, effects, prognosis, rehabilitation, and treatment.

• Works with clients to address stressors and barriers to treatment and/or social functioning; identifies and focuses on client strengths and personal resources to effectively engage and treat client.
