We are currently looking to fill multiple vacancies for Clinical Therapist I/II with our Child and Family Services Department on our Outpatient, FSP-TAY and School Partnership Teams.

The positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide home, field, office and/or school services; complete all DMH documentation;  Participate in the on-call rotation;

• Perform case management services and conduct mental health assessments, sessions, treatment plans;

• Meet with clients for regular therapeutic interviews, guide clients in understanding of their illness and contributing personal, social and economic factors.; and other duties as assigned.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill an opportunity to serve as a Program Support Assistant II for the Program Support Team.   This position will be located within our Child and Family Services Clinic and will be responsible for administrative/program support, clerical, and office work.  This position will report to the Support Systems Manager.   

A summary of the variety of ongoing duties include, but not limited to:

• Greet and provide general information to clients, visitors, vendors and staff, in person and on the telephone in a professional manner.

• Maintain files and records according to HCFA, FLSA, HIPAA, HITECH ACT and federal and State regulations.

• Perform general clerical duties including copying, filing, data entry; type correspondence, memos, minutes, and agendas; disburse cash and data entry.

• Review charts and other documentation for completeness and internal consistency with Welligent, the Electronic Health Record billing system (EHR), LADMH IS system, Quality Assurance and compliance with policies and procedures and forwards results to the appropriate supervisor.

• Assist clients and utilize de-escalation and basic customer service techniques.  Attend, practice and apply agency wide trainings provided in working with consumers.  

• Assist clients by referring them to sources of information, handing out standard forms and explaining how to complete them, and answering requests for factual information by consulting various available sources.

• Input, update, track and extract information into appropriate databases such as Welligent Electronic Health Record billing system (EHR) and LADMH IS system and files; search records and files for data where judgment and discrimination are required in selecting or abstracting material.

• Maintain records, logs, files, and other forms of information, including various demographic reports, room schedules and leased equipment usage, etc.; and perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance related duties involving manual labor of facilities, parks, storm drains, streets, etc.
• Operate and maintain sewer rodding, compressors and additional pneumatic tools
• Clean out catch-basins and other storm-related preventive maintenance
• Repair irrigation systems, tools, recreation and maintenance equipment
• Operate various motorized equipment such as  a tractor, gang mower, power mower, and other equipment
• Plants, waters, mows, prunes, sprays and maintains hedges, lawns, trees, flowers and shrubs
• Repairs and replaces sewer and storm drainage pipe
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, street construction and pipe-fitting work

The Public Works Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Carpenter /Mill Cabinet Worker.

Under general supervision, Carpenters /Mill Cabinet Workers perform journey-level skilled rough and finished carpentry work, including construction and repair of wooden structures and components; maintain, repair, and replace building hardware; and perform related Carpentry or cabinet making duties as assigned.  

In the area of Construction Carpentry, duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Construct, remodel, maintain, and repair various types of buildings and structures
• Lay out work and cut, fit, and join lumber
• Lay out and build concrete forms; place and finish concrete
• Hang doors and install sash and window glazing
• Install wood flooring and lay floor tiles
• Install ceiling and wall systems
• Maintain, repair, and install wood fixtures and components of buildings
• Operate wood working tools and equipment and maintain them in proper working condition
• Maintain and replace door locks, door closers, and other building hardware
• Build and install interior trim and interior fittings, such as cabinet shelves, partitions, and bookcases
• Assist other trades as directed by supervisor
• Perform roofing repairs and maintenance
• Perform related duties as assigned

 
In the area of Mill-Cabinet Worker, duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lay out work and cut, fit, and join lumber
• Build and install interior trim and finish carpentry work
• Fabricate and install complex finished hardwood cabinetry using non-dimensional hardwoods
• Operate power planers, lathes, saws, routers, and other power tools in working various hardwood shapes into dimensional sizes
• Fabricate and install laminated plastic counters
• Assist other trades as directed by supervisor
• Perform related duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following: 

• Journey-level skills to perform routine repairs such as repairing doors, replacing glass in windows, patching roof leaks, and replacing ceramic and ceiling tiles in our County facilities
• Well-rounded carpentry experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently without assistance

Possession of a California driver license is required
 
There is currently one vacancy within the Department of Public Works in the Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations section.
 
IMPORTANT: Carpenters are required to work at various locations throughout the County of San Mateo including County Facilities/Buildings, San Mateo Medical Center, Hall of Justice, Maguire Correctional Facility, Maple Street Correctional Facility, and Youth Services Center.  Candidates will be required to complete an extensive security clearance package and undergo a thorough background check conducted by the County of San Mateo Sheriff's office prior to hiring. The selected candidate must be cleared to work in a locked facility and around detainees.

QUALIFICATIONS

License: 

• Valid California driver license.

Security Clearance: 

• Ability to pass an extensive background check and maintain jail security clearance.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

• A minimum of 5-years of experience working in trades, or
• Completion of certified apprenticeship program with Journey-level status as a Carpenter or a Mill-Cabinet Worker.

Knowledge of: 

• Standard practices, materials, tools, machines, and equipment used in the carpentry and/or the millworker trade
• Basic provisions of the Uniform Building Code as it relates to carpentry construction standards
• Preparation of dimensional sketches and the fabrication of specified products
• Methods of fire stop caulking

Skill/Ability to: 

• Use hand and power tools
• Read blueprints and work from sketches, plans, and specifications
• Perform layout work
• Estimate labor and material requirements for small jobs
• Follow written and oral instructions
• Keep records
• Work courteously and effectively with the public and with co-workers
• Bend, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
• Lift and carry equipment and supplies used in the course of the work, such as lumber, concrete, and fencing materials
• Obtain and maintain jail security clearance

THE POSITION

Tri-City is actively recruiting to fill a vacancy for Clinical Supervisor I within the Adult Outpatient Program (AOP). This position will be responsible for supervising, planning, organizing and directing the work of clinical, professional, & technical staff & providing mental health services to individuals & families. The Clinical Supervisor I position will report to the Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Coordinate, supervise, and direct the clinical, operational and program activities, inclusive of unit personnel, on a day-to-day basis to meet unit objectives;

• Provide direct services to clients under appropriate scope of practice;

• Consult with Clinical Program Manager regarding program goals, activities, policies, and procedures; make recommendations on programmatic, clinical and administrative policies; regularly update program policies and procedures; and implement and enforce policies and procedures.

• Supervise, train, evaluate, and participate in the selection of student interns, subordinate clinical staff, Mental Health Specialists and Mental Health Workers; and initiate and participate in personnel actions in accordance with the Agency’s human resources practices and procedures.

• Make or review decisions on difficult client assessment and casework matters; supervise the timely and accurate submission of activity logs of assigned staff; and review caseload and task/needs reports for accuracy and timely changes & other duties as assigned.

The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a highly qualified, experienced Community Services Coordinator

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill a full-time vacancy for the position of Community Capacity Organizer within the MHSA Department, PEI Team.   This position will provide advocacy, feedback, outreach and support to help communities access and work more effectively with the systems involved.  This position will report to an MHSA Program Supervisor.   

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Collaborating with local Tri-Cities community members; engaging and organizing a wide range of community groups;

• Identify and evaluate strategies that promote and effect mental health well-being, and to plan ways to expand and sustain these community efforts; assist in required quarterly reports, annual updates, and other analyses and evaluations for assigned MHSA programs;

• Collaborate with Tri-City staff to insure that principles of the Agency’s MHSA PEI Plan are adhered to in the community organizing process; effectively translate communities’ activities and goals into coherent actions steps that can be evaluated and duplicated;

• Responsible for developing and coordinating trainings (for MHSA staff, as well as community stakeholders) and arranging meetings; Function as liaison representative to other departments, community groups, agencies and stakeholders;

• Maintain records and documentation of assigned MHSA/PEI program activities and events;

• Ensure confidentiality and integrity of Protected Health Information (PHI) of clients served by Center to comply with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) regulations and other duties as assigned.

Candidates must have knowledge of: 

• Knowledge of Each Mind Matters and Directing Change (statewide stigma reduction campaign); 

• Effective suicide prevention strategies, campaigns and trainings. 

Candidates must have the ability to:

• Organize and execute local, statewide and national annual campaigns related to stigma reduction and suicide prevention;

• Develop website content and management.

THE POSITION

As a key staff member of the City Manager’s Office, the Public Information Officer (PIO) / Senior Management Analyst works on a diversity of projects and programs across all City departments in support of strategic City objectives. The PIO develops and implements citywide communications and oversees all public engagement, including direct partnerships with residents, businesses and other organizations. The PIO synthesizes complex information and data and prepares an array of compelling informational and marketing materials for public consumption. A high level of political astuteness and the ability to take initiative are important to success in this role. The PIO works in a demanding, fast-paced environment where a sense of humor and a collaborative attitude are important.

DEFINITION

This Public Information Officer (PIO) role is classified as a Senior Management Analyst and is primarily focused on public information and engagement. The PIO works closely with top level City staff to develop and implement communications strategies that   engage with Daly City’s extremely diverse population. The PIO also oversees service-oriented partnerships with Daly City residents and businesses through impact volunteering programs. Under general direction of the City Manager, performs a wide variety of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments; administers a wide variety of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; assists the Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Manager and City Manager as needed; and performs related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assists in program, policy and budget development, implementation, coordination, revision, review, evaluation and monitoring; provides support services for the City Council meetings and speaking before the City Council; participates in interdepartmental task forces and committees; researches, collects, compiles and analyzes financial and other data; prepares recommendations for budget requests, grants, new programs, modification of services and equipment; plans, organizes and coordinates assigned city-wide projects and monitors departmental projects; analyzes, interprets and explains City policies and procedures.

TYPICAL TASKS

1. Determines need for and gathers information from various departments and from outside sources in order to research proposed programs and projects.

2. Analyzes data in order to assess cost, operational feasibility and other aspects of proposed programs and projects.

3. Prepares reports and presentations on all pertinent aspects of proposed programs and projects including budget projection.

4.  Make presentations on assigned projects and programs to the City Council and others.

5. Monitors and coordinates execution of approved projects and programs including preparing all required reports and supervising all related record keeping.

6.  Recommends changes in program emphasis or execution.

7.  Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

8.  Confers with operating staff regarding the implementation of programs and the interpretation and application of policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Senior Management Analysts have comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of municipal budgeting, finance, public administration and organizational development; modern management of departments and organizations; pertinent legislation; interpersonal behavior dynamics.

Ability to: Write and present reports and recommendations; speak before groups; properly interpret, explain and act in accordance with laws, regulations and policies; demonstrate competency in research and analysis, decision making, and management skills; and tactfully relate to the public, departmental managers, employees, other organizations and outside agencies; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: Graduation from a four-year college or university, with major course work in communications, public relations, journalism, English, Public or Business Administration or a related field providing education in writing and public policy. Advanced degree desirable.

Experience: Three to five years of responsible work experience involving public relations and internal / external communications including experience developing and                       implementing a comprehensive communications program. Previous experience in a fiscal or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.
