JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision, Recreation Leaders are responsible for coordinating and conducting a variety of youth recreation activities, and providing general supervision of children or teens at a summer camp, playground program, sports program and/or special events.  Recreation leaders must be available Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and additional hours as assigned.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

1. Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and executing a variety of games, sports and crafts for children of various ages.
    
2. Provide customer service to the public as needed.

CITY CLERK’S OFFICE—WHO WE ARE

The City Clerk’s Office has a critical role in service delivery, and providing  effective information dissemination and communication with the public and City Council. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager and City Clerk, the Assistant City Clerk assists in planning and organizing the daily operations of the City Clerk's office. Serves as the City Clerk in his/her absence by coordinating the preparation of City Council agendas, attending City Council meetings and preparing the action minutes. Provides services as a member of the department’s management team; performs related duties as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

- In the absence of the City Clerk, attend City Council meetings as necessary to perform functions of the City Clerk

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill multiple vacancies for the part-time (20 hours per week) Clinical Therapist I/II position for the Children’s Outpatient Program (COP). The Clinical Therapist I/II is a school partnership (SPT) position and will appeal to bilingual individuals who are passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families and may have or would like experience in a school setting.  The Clinical Therapist I/II will report to the School Partnership Program Supervisor.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide individual, family, collateral and group therapy for children, adolescents, and youth with mental illness;
   
• Provide crisis intervention and case management as needed at the school site in Pomona, California;

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one individual to serve as a Facilities Maintenance Technician II for the Facilities Division within the Operations Department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will to perform maintenance, security, and housekeeping functions to ensure the safety and aesthetics of all Agency facilities.  This position will report to the Facilities Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Maintain agency equipment, property and vehicles;
   
• Perform moderately difficult building maintenance repair work to Agency facilities and Agency housing units & leased properties;
• As assigned, perform unskilled, semi-skilled and/or skilled craft related work in such areas as carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, and refrigeration in the maintenance, repair, and alteration of buildings, facilities, and equipment;

• Monitor access to storage facilities and ensure security and order of storage units; Move and secure furniture, wall fixtures and equipment;

• Respond to work order requests; complete work on a timely basis; prepare and maintain records of performed work and services; Set up and break down for meetings; Completion of the Safety Maintenance Checklist Report;

• Ensure cleanliness of the Agency interior and exteriors premises, which includes cleaning windows, cleaning up spills and foods quickly; and maintain sanitation equipment and supplies;

• Enforce building related codes, including adopted California Building Code, California Mechanical Code, California Plumbing Code, California Electric Code, California Residential Code, California Green Building Code, California Energy Code, and local ordinances.

• Maintain vehicle logs and ensure maintenance, safety and cleanliness of vehicles. Inspects and troubleshoots automotive, and light and heavy duty trucks and equipment to assess their condition and determine repairs; and perform other duties as assigned.

Summary of Duties: Under general direction, plans, organizes, and oversees the daily functions, operations, and activities of the Victim Advocate Program; advocates and coordinates rights and benefits for crime victims and/or witnesses during the various states of follow-up to a crime; facilitates communication among agencies concerned with the investigation of criminal cases involving victims and/or witnesses. 
Distinguishing Characteristics: This position is a journey level position in the Police Department.  Incumbent receives general direction and supervision from Division Chief or designee.  Incumbents are expected to be able to perform assigned duties with only occasional instruction or assistance within a relatively short period of time and work independently out in the field.  May exercise functional supervision over lower level staff and/or volunteers.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

1.    Contacts victims of crimes to provide aid, assistance or referrals to appropriate services and resources to meet their needs; provide status updates to victims throughout case development.
2.    Functions as a liaison to third parties to inform them of the crime, status, victim’s condition, and case progress; meet and confer with detectives, officers, and allied agencies regarding individual cases.
3.    Stays abreast of potential new cases and case developments by reviewing police reports, tracking cases through the court process from filing decisions and arraignment to disposition.
4.    Coordinates onsite advocacy at emergency rooms, police stations and other locations with a focus on non-duplicated reporting, effective and compassionate treatment, and follow-up.
5.    Coordinates with District Attorney’s Office Victim Advocate to ensure transportation for victims as needed for court appearances, medical purposes, counseling or law enforcement.
6.    Maintains contact with the Victim Advocate Program and acts as liaison to assist crime victims and witnesses in applying for aid.
7.    May accompany victims to court proceedings, meetings, and interviews with law enforcement and/or attorneys.
8.    Provides comprehensive staff support to the Police Department related to the Victim Advocate programs and services; coordinates and integrates program services and activities with department divisions such as investigations and patrol with other agencies; develops program partnerships, where applicable, with external agencies and organizations; identified public and private resources to support program objectives.
9.    Develops and maintains information, outreach, and educational materials, including brochures, information packets, flyers, guides, and other documents; conducts workshops and training.
10.    Prepares and maintains statistical reports and records;
11.    Develops and standardizes procedures and methods to improve and continuously monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of the Victim Advocate Program, service delivery methods, and procedures; identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendation to management.
12.    Organizes and maintains various administrative, confidential, reference, and follow-up case files.
13.    Trains volunteers and interns engaged in assisting victims and/or witnesses.
14.    Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: 
1.    Thirty (30) college units from an accredited college or university with major course work in psychology, sociology, social work or closely related and two (2) years of responsible experience in social services/public assistance, criminal justice, or law enforcement agency; or
2.    High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of responsible experience in social services/public assistance, criminal justice, or law enforcement agency.
Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.  Employee will be required to use a City vehicle(s) for business use.
Other Requirements:

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the journey level class within the Business Systems Analyst series and is distinguished from the I level by the assignment of the full range of duties.  Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit.  Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

This class is distinguished from the Senior Business Systems Analyst in that latter performs the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series including assigned responsibilities for major project and program areas and exercising technical and functional supervision.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

• Receives direction from an Information Technology Program Manager.
• May exercise technical and functional supervision over lower level professional, technical and administrative support personnel.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Experience:

Two years of responsible experience performing duties similar to that of a Business Systems Analyst I with the City of Roseville (To perform professional level work in the analysis, design, programming, testing, installation and maintenance of business applications systems and databases.)

AND

Training:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in computer science, information systems, business management, accounting, business information systems, finance or a related field is desirable. Two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for two years of the required education.

License or Certificate:

Possession of a valid California driver’s license upon date of appointment by date of appointment.

SELECTION PROCESS

THE POSITION

The Human Resources Department is accepting applications for the Regular and Full-time position of Business Systems Analyst I in the Information Technology Department.  The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 –5 pm; a flex schedule may be available.

To perform professional level work in the analysis, design, programming, testing, installation and maintenance of business applications systems and databases.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the entry level class in the Business Systems Analyst series.  This class is distinguished from the journey level by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within this series.  Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level.  Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have only limited or no directly related work experience.  Employees work under general supervision while learning job tasks.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

• Receives general supervision from an Information Technology Program Manager.
• May exercise technical and functional supervision over technical and administrative support personnel.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform analytical and technical work through enterprise systems that support assigned City business applications.
• Conduct business analysis; evaluate business processes; determine business needs; identify requirements; and develop business plan analysis.
• Provide and/or ensure follow up on trouble calls and tickets; correspond with or meet customers and vendors as needed to understand and resolve concerns.
• Analyze data and information trends to support system capacity/performance planning or diagnose issues related to assigned systems; compile and prepare reports and documentation on analysis findings.
• Perform installation and configuration duties and related data migration, conversion, and maintenance and extraction work; implement and maintain databases, database tables and database objects; develop database scripts as needed for assigned systems.
• Perform configuration, testing and troubleshooting for network/communications devices and/or interfaces that support assigned systems.
• Provide project management; develop project plans and detailed project objectives; develop and guide project timelines; assess and manage risks; manage issues; develop and manage project budgets.
• Coordinate implementation of the system software, including conversion of data to new systems; work with application support personnel to resolve system problems.
• Assist departments in defining requirements for proposed business applications; review, analyze and evaluate business applications and user needs; translate business objectives into application requirements.
• Develop and participate in the development of Requests for Proposal, Quote, or Information; participate in the selection; and assist with the oversight of consultants and vendors.
• Perform reporting, testing and general maintenance of enterprise systems and identify alternative methods for better operation and use.
• Research, plan, install, configure and test new application systems and interfaces; maintain and upgrade existing application systems and interfaces; apply software updates to servers and schedule periodic server cycling
• Analyze and resolve technology related problems; resolve compatibility problems and troubleshoot system software, hardware and communication problems.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for each application; design backup procedures; and analyze problems with existing applications.
• Work closely with assigned City departments and divisions to understand and identify user computer system and equipment needs; analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define enterprise application needs
• Create, record, and maintain user access and security; provide training to users regarding computer equipment and operating procedures.
• Monitor automated system processes; monitor logs and files for evidence of problems or system failures; ensure business resumption after system failures.
• Research, compile and prepare reports and documentation on program activities; analyze program and develop corrective action, maintain records of findings and corrective actions; prepare periodic status reports.
• May plan, assign, review the work of technical personnel assigned to functional area of assignment.
• Serve as liaison with system software and hardware suppliers and vendors; monitor contracted services for quality and compliance with City standards.
• Represent function on committees, outside organizations, and at staff subcommittees as necessary; coordinate technical support activities with other departments, divisions and outside agencies.
• Answer questions and provide information to the customers, via telephone, e-mail, and written correspondence related to the technical support program/operations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaint.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Training:

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course work in computer science, information systems, business management, accounting, business information systems, finance or a related field is desirable. Two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for two years of the required education.

License or Certificate:

Possession of a valid California driver’s license upon date of appointment by date of appointment.

SELECTION PROCESS

All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a Formula Rate Examination.  The applicant’s experience and education will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula.  Scores from this evaluation will determine applicant ranking and placement on the Employment List.  Supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations.  Final appointment is contingent upon a check of past employment references, passing a City-paid fingerprint check and depending on position applied for a pre-employment medical exam and a drug and alcohol screening test.
