Role description

Under direction, the Custodian performs routine manual cleaning tasks in public buildings, schools, other facilities, and surrounding areas. 

Examples of essential duties include but not limited to the following:

• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, spots and waxes floors; vacuums and cleans rugs and carpets.
• Cleans, dusts and polishes cabinets, furniture and woodwork; empties and cleans waste receptacles and ashtrays.
• Cleans stairways and hallways; cleans and disinfects restrooms and replenishes supplies; may perform minor duties in unplugging sinks and toilets; cleans offices and lobbies; cleans ceilings, walls, window shades, light fixtures and venetian blinds.
• Assists in moving and arranging furniture and equipment.
• Turns out lights and locks doors and windows.
• Operates scrubbers, buffers, waxers and related electrical appliances and equipment; may tend simple, low pressure heating and ventilating systems; may check water levels in gauges and periodically perform routine servicing to boilers and pumps.
• In recreational areas, cleans auditoriums, gymnasiums, club houses and locker rooms; picks up papers and rubbish in play areas; hangs flags and decorations; reports evidences of vandalism, broken plumbing, windows, doors, locks, etc.
• May wash interior glass partitions and interior and exterior windows which can be easily reached from floor or ground level.
• As school custodian, may supervise and maintain order among students during recess periods; distributes milk or other refreshments to students; performs minor duties in repairing  chairs, desks and toys.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Position

The position requires an individual to provide responsible professional, administrative, and technical assistance to support the City Manager’s Office which includes City Clerk functions. The individual will provide administrative support and general reception for the Town Hall. THE DEPARTMENT

The Information Systems and Technology Division is responsible for the City's network infrastructure, cybersecurity, Help Desk support, and daily IT operations. The division supports a full-service city that includes City Administration, Police, Fire, Planning, Public Works, Parks, Beaches, and Recreation departments.

 

THE POSITION

This is a full-time, professional level position that requires significant administrative, analytical, and technical skills. This position serves as a technical leader, providing complex analytical support.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and monitor physical and virtual network and server infrastructure including hardware, software, real-time monitoring tools, peripherals, and devices ensuring effective performance and proper integration of components and systems with existing architecture; assist in infrastructure changes and upgrades to limit interrupted services.
• Administer automated deployment of software and updates over the network.

preparedness efforts; drives strategic planning and organizational development; oversees employee relations; directs the preparation of the budget in conformance with the Council's approved priorities and Budget Principles; and advises the Council of the City’s financial outlook. In addition, the City Manager's Office has direct responsibility for economic

The Mayor and Council Office’s Management Analyst supports City Council Committees, other intergovernmental assignments, reviews Public Record Act requests for the Mayor and Council, provides support for legislative matters, develops ceremonial and recognition reports, and supports special events. Additionally, the Management Analyst may write remarks and speeches and may be assigned to support City Manager’s Office projects and initiatives. There will be occasional evening work required at City Council meetings.
 
City Manager’s Office/Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office
The City Manager’s Office also operates as the Stadium Authority Executive Director’s Office. The Stadium Authority owns Levi’s Stadium and contracts with the Forty Niners Stadium Management Company (Stadium Manager) for the management of Non-NFL Events and facility operations and maintenance. The Executive Director’s Office is responsible for the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and providing oversight of the Stadium Manager’s responsibilities.
 
The Stadium Authority Management Analyst will assist the Executive Director’s Office with the day-to-day management of Stadium Authority operations and oversight efforts. DEFINITION
Under general direction, the Housing Community Development Manager is responsible for the operation of the Division of Housing and Community Development which includes the supervision of technical staff and policy development and program implementation of the CDBG program, housing rehabilitation programs, and affordable housing programs for the City and Housing Development and Finance Agency.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Oversee the operation of the City's Community Development Block Grant program,
including all reporting to HUD, monitoring of expenditures, preparation and issuance of Requests for Proposals, preparation of funding recommendations, coordination with Public Works on infrastructure projects, and preparation and monitoring of contract/programs; oversee the operation of City housing rehabilitation programs; oversee the operation of the City's and Agency's affordable housing efforts including creation of new affordable ownership and rental units, acquisition and preservation of existing housing, applying for funding, and monitoring of existing units and contracts related to these tasks. Oversee an expanded focus on complex financial analysis, legal research, drafting of regulatory documents and ongoing creation of new programs in response to new affordable housing challenges. Ability to: Communicate competently both orally and in writing; prepare cogent analyses and concise written reports for presentation to City Council and the Redevelopment Agency; maintain effective working relationship with Council, Agency, City and other agency staff, and the public; and provide clear supervision, direction, and feedback to staff. interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: A Bachelor of Art or Science degree from a four-year college or university, in
Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics, Planning or related field. A
Master's Degree is desirable.

Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible experience with community
development programs, one year of which must have been served as full-time supervisor. Experience with affordable housing development and finance is highly desirable. Experience in municipal government is desirable. Experience with microcomputers desirable.

License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.
