The Transit Manager is an important part of the City's transit team that provide services including the Auburn Loop fixed route and Auburn OnDemand ride share programs.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Plans, prioritizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and participates in the daily operations and staff work of the Transit Division, participates in budget development and administration, and selects, trains and evaluates personnel.
• Establishes schedules and methods for providing transit services, schedules drivers and ensures coverage of shifts, coordinates maintenance and allocation of vehicles, provides safety training, and responds to accidents and incidents, conducts investigations, and takes corrective actions.
• Coordinates transportation needs for schools and special events, coordinates transit activities with other divisions and agencies, and performs customer relations tasks, including answering questions and issuing passes.
• Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies and priorities for the Transit Division, ensures compliance with established policies and procedures, and works with local businesses to promote transit services.
• Conducts research, analyzes data and prepares reports to support decision-making, provides staff assistance to higher-level management, identifies opportunities for service improvement, and recommends changes and improvements to standards and procedures.

Class Characteristics

This entry-level classification in the Construction Inspector series reports to a Senior Civil Engineer through a Construction Coordinator in the Construction Inspection Section of the Public Works Engineering Division. It is characterized by the responsibility to learn and to inspect public works construction projects for compliance with codes and specifications. Incumbents' assignments, objectives and work methods are specified; issues of fact are referred to the supervisor; review of work is ongoing and responsibility for achieving work objectives rests with a supervisor. Incumbents' work will gradually be done on a more independent basis subject to occasional review in progress through questions/problems and consultation with the supervisor and the section head. Education/Experience

Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge and skills necessary to satisfactory job performance would be qualifying. The Yuba County Probation Department is seeking to fill a full-time Correctional Technician position at its Youth Detention Facilities. Working under general supervision, the Correctional Technician is responsible for monitoring video and audio systems to maintain the safety and security of both youths and staff within the secure detention areas. Duties of the Locksmith include but are not limited to: servicing, repairing, and maintaining locks, door closers, and related hardware; maintaining stock for replacement of lock units and parts; maintaining repair and maintenance records, key issues, and duplicate key schedules; picking jammed locks using special tools; devising and adjusting master key systems; and planning lock security systems for County facilities.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a locksmith in a commercial, governmental, or industrial setting, with preferred experience in jail locks and electronic lock systems. Familiarity with ADA compliance related to door operators and sliding door mechanics is also preferred. We are seeking individuals from the local Bay Area who have an interest in working for local government and bring relevant government experience to the role.

The Position
Under general direction from the Facilities Services Manager in the Public Works Department, the Lead Gardener provides leadership and direction to the landscape contractors; performs landscape maintenance functions; and operates a wide variety of landscape maintenance equipment. The incumbent is expected to perform the most skilled landscape maintenance, new installations, and repair work and take the lead in solving problems that occur in day-to-day activities.  

This position requires the Lead Gardener to work in person from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There is an option for a 9/80 schedule after the probationary period.

The Position
Under general supervision, Painters perform a large variety of painting and wall covering tasks on County buildings and property. The County buildings include but are not limited to office buildings, public hospitals, secure correctional facilities, and psychiatric facilities. Most work involves repainting and touch-up of interior and exterior surfaces in the facilities.

Working with a small team of highly skilled individuals to provide a safe environment for our patients, their families, and our co-workers, Painters speak with customers regarding their jobs; identify materials and time needed for jobs; purchase painting equipment, materials and supplies; calculate job costs; schedule jobs; and log/record work completed. Jobs may require coordination of work with stationary engineers working in the facilities or working independently. THE POSITION

Under supervision of the Utilities Superintendent, the Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator will be responsible for a variety of operational and general maintenance tasks on the City’s water treatment and distribution systems. Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator II
The Water Treatment/Distribution System Operator II is the journey level class expected to perform the full range of water system activities and related support duties with minimum supervision. Incumbent is responsible for the performance of the division’s complex and difficult assignments and may provide training to entry level staff. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Water Distribution/Treatment System Operator in that the latter is responsible for division supervision and performance of the divisions most complex tasks.
