DEFINITION

Under the supervision of the Plant and Equipment Maintenance Manager, does skilled mechanical work in repairing and installing equipment in the Water and Wastewater systems; and performs other duties as assigned.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Installs, replaces and repairs pumps, motors, generators, and auxiliary equipment; levels and aligns equipment to prevent vibration; installs and connects instruments, gauges, tubing, pipes, instrument panels, switches and valves; dismantles pumps, compressors, motors and generators for inspection of worn or broken parts and makes appropriate adjustments, replacements and repairs; keeps written and computerized records of repairs and maintenance services performed; furnishes Plant and Equipment Maintenance Manager with information for parts and inventory control; assists operators and maintenance personnel in the general maintenance of equipment and facilities of the Department of Water and Wastewater Resources; may be required to work under adverse conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:           The installation, operation and repair of pumps, compressors, motors, generators and related equipment; mechanical ability and skill in the use of tools and materials involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment; use of welding equipment and cutting torch; knowledge of pipe and pipe fitting installations; use of appropriate safety equipment and tools and principles of safety and accident prevention.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, the Plant Operator II during an assigned shift is responsible for operation of the wastewater treatment plant and for maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Ability to: Operate equipment used in a water quality control plant, make standard laboratory tests of sewage, receiving waters and sludge and interpret such tests; read and interpret gauges and recording devices reflecting plant operations; adjust treatment processes as indicated by plant conditions; perform mechanical repairs, maintenance work, and modification to equipment used in a water quality control plant; use various mechanic's tools with skill and accuracy; adapt to day, swing or graveyard work shift; follow oral and written directions; perform heavy manual labor involving lifting, carrying, kneeling, crawling and climbing; work in adverse conditions which require exposure to noise, noxious smells, gases, contact with wastewater, and risk of bodily injury; interact positively and cooperate with co-workers, respond politely to customers, work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Job Description

This position performs preventive, routine and emergency maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy and light industrial and marine equipment, related systems and components. The incumbent will operate precision equipment and respond to trouble calls associated with the Port's ferry terminal systems, boats, sewer pumps and other Port related equipment. The nature of this work requires sustained physical effort frequently under adverse weather conditions and/or working in confined spaces. The Position

The Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo seeks a collaborative, innovative problem solver, experienced with housing authority operations for the position of Executive Director to provide exceptional leadership at a high-performing agency.

With general direction from the Department of Housing Director and Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, the Executive Director organizes, coordinates, and directs through management staff all Housing Authority functions and activities; provides policy guidance and strategic direction regarding housing issues; fosters cooperative working relationships with the Board, HACSM staff, the public and other agencies; and performs related work as assigned. What You’ll Do

Under the general direction of the City Clerk, the Deputy City Clerk uses independent judgement to plan, organize, direct, and perform a variety of complex administrative, technical, and supervisory duties in support of the City Clerk Department’s day-to-day operations, primarily legislative operations and contract and process management. The Deputy City Clerk serves as the second in command within the City Clerk’s Department and provides backup to the City Clerk.  The Deputy City Clerk will provide a high level of administrative and technical support to the City Clerk and other departments and perform all duties of the City Clerk in his/her absence. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists the City Clerk in performing the day to day functions of the City Clerk's office; and in the absence of the City Clerk, act as City Clerk, performing such duties as serving as the Clerk of the City Council, maintaining meeting protocols, parliamentary procedures and proper conduct, writing agenda reports, taking minutes, certifying ordinances, resolutions, agreements and other official documents, administer oaths of office and supervise staff.

• Oversees maintenance and development of City-wide records management initiatives.
• Assists the City Clerk in the administration and conduct of municipal elections and special events. Serves as Filing Officer for campaign and conflict of interest finance reporting.
• Serves as liaison to the County Registrar of Voters.
• Attends City Council meetings with the City Clerk to assist with operating the audio / visual / agenda / voting system and take minutes as required.  Responsible for after Council action including producing and maintaining official City records and documents in good order such as resolutions, ordinances, contracts, deeds, correspondence, inter-agency notifications and minutes.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Principal Staff Specialist in the Strategic Incentives Division (SI) Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) full-time, represented position.

The Strategic Incentives Division supports the Air District’s mission by implementing incentive programs (grant programs) that achieve voluntary reductions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases, primarily from on- and off-road vehicles and equipment that operate in the Air District’s jurisdiction. In 2023-2024, the SI Division is administering more than $90 million in new revenue to fund programs and projects that replace older diesel-fueled vehicles and equipment such as school and transit buses, marine vessels, locomotives, trucks, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, and other mobile equipment, with newer, cleaner alternatives, including zero-emission technologies, and install refueling/charging infrastructure that supports the accelerated adoption of zero-emissions vehicles and equipment. Other programs administered support the reduction of single-occupancy vehicle, provide cash and mobility options to residents for turning in their older vehicles, and provide grants to reduce pollution from woodburning devices. The Division develops programs to meet community identified strategies for reducing air quality disparities and that benefit the Bay Area’s most overburdened communities.

About you in the position

The Principal Staff Specialist (AB 617 role) in the SI Division will coordinate the division's efforts in bringing greater equity to grant programs through program development, collaboration with other divisions, and engagement with communities under the AB 617 program. With your in-depth knowledge of the Air District’s emission reduction grant programs, you will lead the division's participation in internal and external AB 617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about air quality improvement incentive programs and mobile sources, participating in community meetings, proposing and guiding discussions on incentive-related emission reduction strategies and actions, developing plans/programs to implement action, and soliciting feedback on strategy implementation. Examples of other tasks include preparing written materials related to grant programs, reports and plans; proposing recommendations for updates to current incentive programs; developing and supporting the development of new programs; assessing impacts of regulatory actions on mobile source categories; presenting to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders; and leading and training staff. This position will require working nights and weekends on occasion to attend community meetings and public events.
