The Office of the City Manager provides strategic leadership that supports the Mayor and City Council in making public policy decisions and ensures the organization delivers cost-effective services that meet the needs of our community with the highest standards of quality and customer service. The City Manager's Office also serves to guide fiscal and change management, the building and development of our workforce, and the development of long-term, data-driven strategies to invest in the City's future. City Manager Foundational Strategic Support Focus Areas

Delivering Excellent Customer Service. Ensure reliable, empathetic, and solutions-oriented customer service to meet the needs and expectations of customers as they access and navigate City services. Key programs include citywide Customer Relationship Management system implementation, customer service network, and mandatory customer service training.

Closing Racial Inequities. Implement policies and programs to eliminate racial disparities and foster an inclusive, equitable community for all people to thrive. Key programs include budgeting for equity, racial equity action plans, and mandatory racial equity training.

Structurally Balancing the General Fund. Ensure long-term financial stability by aligning revenues and expenditures to sustainably balance the City's budget on an ongoing basis consistent with City Council and community priorities.

Driving Organizational Performance. Deliver equitable community outcomes, effective program performance, and efficient operations through continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability. Key programs include City Service Area performance updates, Focus Area dashboards, and community indicator disaggregation.

Making San José a Great Place to Work. Cultivate a supportive and dynamic work environment that attracts, retains, and grows talented and motivated employees. Key programs include hiring and retention, recruitment process modernization, and workforce learning and development.The Office of the City Manager is currently seeking to fill a full-time Deputy City Manager position.

The annual salary range for this position is up to $342,687. In addition to the abovementioned compensation, this position receives an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. The final candidate's qualifications and experience will determine the actual salary.

The position of Deputy City Manager serves as a key advisor to the City Manager regarding matters related to the administration of the City and assists in the formulation and execution of complex policies and programs to fulfill the goals and objectives of the organization. The position will be responsible for a portfolio of departments related to one or more City Service Areas to assist the City Manager in coordinating, engaging, and monitoring departments, carrying out City Council policy direction, and ensuring service delivery goals. The position will also be the executive sponsor for one or more of the City's focus areas, ensuring appropriate attention and coordination to make significant accomplishments toward these priorities. What You’ll Do

The Senior Management Analyst will perform complex, professional, and sensitive administrative and technical duties in providing staff assistance to the Police Department, including conducting special studies, surveys, and research assignments in a variety of administrative and operational procedures and topics, often with City‑wide and/or major financial impact. The emphasis of the work may be upon financial analyses, grant and contract administration and/or policy development. Successful performance of the work requires a good knowledge of municipal operations and functions in addition to well‑developed communication and analytical skills.  Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• When assigned to the Police Department, may be required to oversee civilian, alternative response-teams (i.e. homeless outreach, clinical crisis response, or other units as determined by the department) and respond in the field to calls for service related to those teams as determined by the department. Several of these teams involve partnerships with outside organizations/community partners where inter-agency collaboration and coordination is key to continued success.
• Compile and analyze data; prepare reports and make recommendations on the formulation of policy and procedure, and staffing and organization changes, often with City‑wide impact.

• Act as the primary point of contact for rental inquiries, promptly responding to emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries regarding facility rentals.

THE POSITION:
This benefitted, full-time position in the Cataloging Department performs original and derived cataloging for materials in all formats and languages; creates metadata for special collections materials; creates and updates authority records; compiles and reviews records for monthly authority control processing; interprets cataloging policies to staff; and serves as back-up for all copy cataloging tasks and other related duties in the Cataloging Department as needed. The position reports to the Librarian III in the Cataloging Department of the Collection Services Division, located at the Rohnert Park Headquarters.

TYPICAL DUTIES include, but are not limited to:

• Performing original and derived cataloging for special collections materials in all formats, local government documents, local author books; local musician/musical group sound recordings; world language materials and other materials in the circulating/reference collections lacking records; assigns Dewey classification numbers
• Researching names, birth dates, street names, etc. in the Library catalog and other databases to create and update authority records and digital projects metadata
• Entering metadata for photos, archival collections and other special collections materials into Excel spreadsheets
• Loading new records and correcting existing records in the Library’s integrated library system (Horizon), digital asset management system (Quartex), archives system (ArchivesSpace) or other platforms
• Compiling information on new records from a series of monthly reports; investigating problems such as missing or malformed call numbers; and searching WorldCat via OCLC Connexion for replacement records
• Preparing and exporting monthly batches of new bibliographic records to Marcive, Inc. for authority processing; retrieving, importing and troubleshooting processed files 
• Managing retrieval of vendor-provided shelf-ready MARC files via FTP, importing files into Horizon and trouble-shooting problems
• Participating in maintenance and enhancements to the public catalog

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with OCLC Connexion, Horizon, Quartex, ArchivesSpace or similar systems
• Knowledge of metadata standards, digital asset management systems
• Multilingual (Spanish especially helpful)
• Basic programming/scripting/Regular Expressions knowledge helpful

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The Technician will have knowledge of and proficiency in: Terminology and practices of financial and account document processing and record-keeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, and business licensing; Methods and techniques or preparing and maintaining records of financial transactions; Methods and techniques of researching and resolving accounting transactional discrepancies; Business arithmetic and basic accounting and financial management knowledge; Record-keeping principles and procedures; Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and ordinances relevant to the area(s) of responsibility; and related areas necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

City offices operate on a 9/80 schedule. This position is located at City Hall, 13777 Fruitvale Avenue; operational hours are 7:30 am-5:00 pm.
