The City of Saratoga is currently recruiting to fill a full-time Accounting Technician position within the Administrative Services Department. The incumbent will report to the Finance Manager.

The Accounting Technician, under general supervision, performs journey-level technical and administrative account support duties associated with preparing, maintaining, and processing accounts receivable and accounts payable records and transactions. The incumbent’s duties include reconciling accounts and ledgers, preparing financial reports, batch runs and wire transfers, tracking and maintaining manual and computerized accounting and financial records, establishing and updating vendor records, and performing related duties as assigned. The incumbent will be assigned to the Accounts Payable and Program Procurement Support responsibilities.

Definition
Under general supervision, the Senior Land Surveyor supervises and coordinates the activities of field and office surveying functions and assists the Survey and Mapping Manager with supervisory and administrative functions of the Survey Services Unit.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is a single position classification responsible for assisting the Survey and Mapping Manager in supervising the efforts of subordinate personnel including surveyors, engineering technicians, and consultants. The Senior Land Surveyor can be assigned to any of the following areas: supervision of survey activities in the field for design and construction projects, supervision of office surveying functions such as mapping, writing legal descriptions, and production of accurate calculations used for engineering, real estate and construction activities.

This classification requires that the incumbent be licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California or equivalent and possess specialized knowledge of land surveying techniques and construction surveying, with emphasis on technology such as GPS (Global Positioning System) methodology and instrumentation. This position will supervise professional and/or administrative staff, as well as identify the need for establishing and administering consultant contracts. This position works with other public agencies (e.g., Caltrans, local cities and counties, water district) to establish property exchanges and rights of way for transportation improvements.

Essential Job Functions

Typical Tasks

• Selects, supervises, trains, motivates, assigns, evaluates, counsels and disciplines subordinate personnel;

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient training, education, and experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in surveying science, engineering or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of technical surveying experience, at least three (3) years of which must have been in a position comparable to that of a field surveying Chief of Party and/or office surveying "Lead" Land Surveyor. Directly related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.

Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor in the State of California or equivalent is required at the time of appointment.

You will lead and contribute to the successful preparation and implementation of community-scale air quality plans in partnership with Air District staff, community members, partner organizations, local governments, the California Air Resources Board, and other state agencies. You will work to support community steering committees and other community partners determine how to best improve air quality and reduce health disparities while centering equity and addressing environmental justice. To be successful in this role, you must be a strong team player, have strong communication, project management and analytical skills, and be able to work with people of varied backgrounds and perspectives, including low-income communities of color and communities overburdened by air pollution. The City of Patterson is seeking to fill one (1) part-time vacancy for a Facility Attendant in the Recreation Department and to establish an eligibility list.

The Rent Stabilization Program provides mediation and arbitration services to landlords and tenants in rent-controlled apartments, oversees rent controlled mobile homes and provides information and referrals for non-rent controlled rental units in San José. Under the direction of a Senior Analyst, the position provides information and assistance to the public and staff on many aspects of rent stabilization and rental housing laws, regulations, and procedures. The position may prepare petitions from the public in preparation for hearings under the City's rent stabilization and related ordinances, answer public inquiries to the Rent Stabilization Program, track and analyze data and outcomes, as well as perform other complex tasks required in the administration of housing programs. This position will assist in outreach and education functions and may assist tenants and landlords in accessing eviction prevention resources, including emergency rental assistance and legal services. The position may collect documents and assess eligibility of tenants and landlords for an eviction diversion program. The incumbent will be expected to make public presentations, interact with tenants, property owners, and their representatives and must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with persons from diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds.

Duties of the positions may include:

• Responding to inquiries from the public regarding Apartment Rent Ordinance, Tenant Protection Ordinance, Mobile homes Ordinance, and related rules, regulations and policies and making referrals to other agencies, as appropriate.
• Processing petitions from landlords and tenants and supporting Hearing Officers and mediators throughout the hearing and mediation process. Assisting parties to the petition in developing all information needed for presentation in hearings without bias toward either party.
• Facilitating the resolution of petitions and complaints where possible through voluntary agreements between the parties that are consistent with the City's housing ordinances and policies.
• Tracking and reporting outcomes of petitions.
• Manage relationships and contracts with contract employees providing mediation and arbitration services for the Rent Stabilization Program.
• Assisting landlords in maintaining compliance with City rental housing ordinances through enrollment in the City's rental programs, maintenance of business licenses, and other city and state permit requirements as appropriate.
• Working with developers, contractors and across departments to ensure compliance with Ellis Act and other tenant displacement ordinances

This class is alternately staffed with Maintenance I and incumbents may advance to the higher-level class after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher-level class.

StopWaste is hiring an Energy Council Program Services Specialist to work on Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) programs. The position will conduct community outreach and engage with stakeholders to make energy upgrades and electrify multifamily and single family buildings in Alameda County and the larger Bay Area. It will also work on growing and strengthening the clean energy workforce to help achieve energy and climate goals. The ideal candidate will have deep experience engaging and developing relationships with community partners.
