San Jose's Human Resources Department offers key strategic support to the City and is responsible for the following core services:

Salary range for this classification is: $131,187.68 - $207,658.10

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The City is seeking a Division Manager to manage all services and activities in the Benefits Division of the Human Resources Department. The Benefits Manager will report to the Director of Human Resources and will be responsible for administering the City of San José's extensive benefits program, which includes insurance programs and other health, financial and professional benefits. The Director and Division Manager will work closely to make recommendations to the City Manager based on their evaluation of all benefits plans.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Sufficient education and increasingly responsible experience to demonstrate possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Development of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree; and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing human resources management and analysis and/or training for a public or private sector organization.

Attainment of experience in a large public agency is preferred.

Staff Specialists perform paraprofessional administrative work of considerable complexity in various areas of public administration. The City of San José, Office of the City Attorney is seeking an entry-level attorney in the Transactional division. Under the direction and supervision of senior management in the Office of the City Attorney, the Associate Deputy City Attorney position will perform basic attorney work benefiting a variety of City Departments while receiving valuable training and experience for a career in public service. The City of Sunnyvale is seeking to fill the position of Public Safety Dispatcher with an energetic and highly motivated individual who possesses excellent customer service, technical and interpersonal skills.

 
Under general supervision of the Senior Public Safety Dispatcher, processes emergency and non-emergency calls for service; dispatches police, fire, medical, rescue, animal control or other emergency equipment, by telephone or radio, utilizing complex technical aids, such as computer aided dispatch systems (CAD); and performs related work as required.

The minimum qualifications required for this position are - Graduation from high school or tested equivalent; and Two years of experience dispatching police and/or fire services for a public safety agency utilizing contemporary dispatching technical tools, including computer aided dispatching systems; or successful completion of probation as a Public Safety Dispatcher-in-Training with the City of Sunnyvale.
