ABOUT THE POSITION

The City of Redwood City Public Works Services Department invites you to apply for the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker III Equipment Operator in the Right-of-Way Division. The Right-of-Way Division is responsible for maintenance of the City’s public right-of-way including streets and roadways, parking lots, roadway markings and painting, streetlights, traffic signals and signs, and street cleaning.  

The position will report to the Public Works Field Supervisor and will serve as a skilled maintenance worker operating a variety of heavy equipment in the construction and maintenance of public right-of-way- assets, assist in scheduling and reviewing work, perform a variety of skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance, repair streets and sidewalks, and occasionally lead a field crew in assigned work. Work will include the skillful operation of construction and maintenance equipment such as street sweepers, backhoes, paving machines, dump trucks, rollers, trucks, tractors, and skip loaders. The City of Pleasant Hill seeks a Maintenance Worker II to perform journey level skilled and semi-skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and related service activities applied to the areas of general landscaping, grounds maintenance and street maintenance. Receives general supervision from an assigned supervisor; and may receive technical and functional supervision from higher-level maintenance staff. May exercise functional supervision over other Maintenance Workers.

Examples of Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: 
 

• Perform manual unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled tasks in street, park, tree, water and storm drain maintenance, construction and repair. 
• Perform such grounds maintenance as mowing lawns, raking leaves, and planting flowers, shrubs and trees.

THE POSITION

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for the position of Clinical Supervisor I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Street Maintenance Operator I: This is the entry level class in the Street Maintenance Operator series. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters related to established procedures and guidelines as are positions allocated to the II level. Street Maintenance Operator II: This is the full journey level class within the Street Maintenance Operator series. This class is distinguished from the Street Maintenance Operator I by the assignment of the full range of duties assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

1. Handle complaints and answer questions from the public.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Shift Rotation

Availability

• As our Mobile Crisis Care team provides critical support during community crises, it’s essential that members can respond promptly. To ensure timely response, team members must reside within a 30-minute commute to the Authority in heavy traffic. If selected, candidates who do not currently meet this requirement will be expected to relocate within four weeks of accepting the position.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities, including, but are not limited to, the following:

Positions at the Psychiatric Technician I level may perform some of these duties and responsibilities in a learning capacity.

• Under the direction of clinical staff, provides medication management services to a caseload of clients in the office and in the field; ensures the proper acquisition and administration of medication.
• Provides education and training to clients, their families, and/or staff on the proper care and use of medications, including symptoms of, reactions to, or side effects of, specific medications; informs clients of the impact of abuse and/or misuse of medications.

The City is seeking a Cross-Connection Control Specialist to perform a range of technical and specialized duties supporting the City’s water system, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of cross-connection control and backflow prevention programs. This role ensures compliance with safe drinking water standards as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Responsibilities include conducting field investigations, surveys, tests, and audits of work performed by third‑party vendors or contract staff; preparing reports; maintaining records and files; and performing related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process.

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview (weighted 60%) and a practical exercise (weighted 40%). About Maple Street Correctional Center
Designed to create a better environment for incarcerated individuals and staff and to help reduce recidivism, the facility was the first correctional center built as part of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s initiative to shift nonviolent, nonsexual offenders from overcrowded state prisons to county-run facilities. The center accommodates female and lower-risk male incarcerated individuals and is composed of two separate but interconnected buildings with a central administration area.

The facility’s architecture emphasizes safety, rehabilitation, and natural light. Instead of placing cells along the exterior walls as in most jails, the design features a curved glass façade with dayrooms located along windowed areas that open to individual living units. This layout improves supervision while allowing daylight to enter the building, helping the white-painted cells feel more open and spacious.

Each floor has a central core station supporting four housing units. These areas include classrooms, a computer lab, and multipurpose rooms to support educational and rehabilitative programming. Additional design elements include natural ventilation, a large rooftop recreation yard, artwork depicting scenes from nature, and a calming natural color palette.

An attached 88-bed transitional housing facility supports alternative sentencing programs such as day reporting, weekend programs, and other supervised custody arrangements, helping prepare individuals for reentry into the community.

Step 2:  Written Examination: Applicants for the Sheriff’s Correctional Officer have three options for meeting the written examination requirement:

3. Possession of an associate's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university.

Step 3:  Physical Agility Examination – Work Sample Test Battery (WSTB): This exam must be passed with a minimum score of 320 and be dated within twelve (12) months of the date of application. This test mirrors the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) test and is advertised as such on The Academy's website. Applicants can submit scores from either the WSTB or the Correctional Officer test through The Academy. The events for the Correctional Officer test include:

• 99-yard obstacle course in under 23 seconds
• 165-pound body drag for 32-feet in under 7 seconds
• 165-pound body lift for 60 seconds
• 500-yard run in under 2 minutes
• 1.5-mile run in 15 minutes or less

IMPORTANT: When you report for the test, inform The Academy that you are applying to be a Correctional Officer with San Mateo County. San Mateo County Correctional Officer applicants will not be required to participate in climbing the 6-foot chain link fence or 6-foot solid wall portion of the WSTB test.

NOTE: PELLETB test and WSTB results from other training organizations or law enforcement agencies will be accepted so long as they meet California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requirements.

 

 

Examples Of Duties

Sheriff's Correctional Officer duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Receive, search, book, fingerprint, and guard inmates in the correctional facilities.  
• Take custody of inmates’ property.  
• Maintain records of bookings, releases, transfers, money and other functions of the correctional facilities.
• Prepare inmates for court and for release.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

If designated as Correctional Deputy, also perform the following:

• Transport and provide security for inmates at the hospital.
• Transport inmates between custodial facilities.
• Provide security for inmates at court.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.

Education: 

• A high school graduate or passing the General Education Development (GED) test or other high school equivalency test approved by CDE, or completion of at least 30 college units from an accredited or approved institution to apply.
