The salary range for the Senior Civil Engineer position is $122,746.56 - $149,774.88 annually. In addition to a competitive salary, retirement through CalPERS and generous benefits package, you may be eligible for a hiring incentive and relocation assistance:

• Up to $2,500 upon hire and $2,500 upon successful completion of probation.
• Relocation Assistance up to $2,500 for candidates outside of a 100-mile radius of the city.

About the Position
The AB617 Principal Engineer (AB617 Role) will join a high performing and motivated team of professionals who work in partnership with the communities most impacted by air pollution.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to the successful preparation and implementation of community-scale air quality plans in partnership with Air District staff, community members, partner organizations, local governments, the California Air Resources Board, and other state agencies.  With knowledge of the Air District’s permitting and risk reduction programs, you will lead the division’s participation in internal and external AB617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about stationary sources, emission inventories, permits, and risk reduction; participating in community meetings; proposing and guiding discussions on emission reduction strategies and development of plans and programs to implement environmental justice and civil rights.
 
The Principal Air Quality Engineer for the Engineering Division may perform the other complex and highly specialized air quality engineering work such as, but not limited to, processing permit applications for complex facilities; analyzing air emissions and other metadata; evaluating program effectiveness; and providing project leadership. The Principal Air Quality Engineers review, mentor staff, and provides training. The Principal Air Quality Engineer may also participate or lead complex, sensitive and controversial projects.  The incumbent in this position may provide technical presentations on complex and/or sensitive engineering activities to the Board of Directors, public, industry, or other agencies.  The Principal Air Quality Engineer will also represent the Air District while participating in working groups comprised of public, industry and other agencies. The Public Works Technology Services Division is recruiting a full-time on-site Microsoft Windows Desktop Support Engineer (Network Engineer) . The Desktop Support Engineer an individual contributor role includes day-to-day desktop support , user support, patch management , system administration and maintenance . The City of Foster City is recruiting for a part-time Public Works Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department. The is a part-time non-benefited position working approximately 20 hours per week, and no benefits are provided. 

Important and Essential Responsibilities 
Operates hand and power tools, light and heavy construction equipment and specialized wastewater equipment. Handles and applies chemicals. Maintains, operates, inspects, repairs and installs water distribution system facilities including piping, storage tanks, meters, hydrants, valves, pressure reducing stations, pumping stations, pumps, controls, measuring devices, cathodic protection systems, communication systems, and related appurtenances.

Education and Training Guidelines: 
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education: Completion of a job or technical training program in maintenance or construction; completion of high school or the equivalent. 

Experience: One year of experience in general maintenance or construction. 

Licenses, Certificates, Registration: 

• Possession of a valid California Class "C" Driver’s License and maintain license and a good driving record.

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed for relevant education, experience, training and other job related qualifications. Based upon a review of employment applications received, a limited number of the qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the examination process. 

The process will consist of an Oral Panel Interview. An eligibility list will be established from those who pass the examination process with a score of 70% or higher. Current and future vacancies may be filled from this list. The list will remain in effect for at least one year unless exhausted sooner. 

The department will invite the most qualified candidates from the eligibility list to a final department interview. The Public Works department will make the hiring decision.

We have exciting internship opportunities available at the City of Millbrae’s Public Works Department.  The Public Works Department is looking to hire two (2) interns for the Engineering Division. This is an open-ended internship without a specific term. The working schedule is to be determined based on business needs and candidate availability, and no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in an office environment in close proximity to other workers.  Incumbent shall be exposed to those conditions normally encountered in a business office environment.  Physical demands require frequent standing, reaching, leaning, twisting, grasping, lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.  Must carry moderately heavy boxes up to 50 pounds and/or utilize a dolly.  Incumbent must be able to drive safely to various City sites.  Incumbent must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction.  Incumbent must have the stamina to work long hours and overtime, if assigned, and be willing to work an irregular schedule, which might include evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying hours.
