The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Community Health Worker Specialist! In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform paraprofessional duties related to preventive and supportive health care services. The current vacant position is in disease investigation, where you will assist in the control of disease outbreaks by conducting interviews with persons diagnosed with reportable diseases, their contacts, and healthcare providers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
THE POSITION
The City is currently seeking General Maintenance Workers. This temporary position works with the City’s maintenance staff to perform: unskilled labor in the parks and landscape medians, street and sidewalk maintenance, street sign maintenance, and building maintenance. Duties include, but are not limited to: raking, emptying trash cans and litter removal, irrigation repair, weeding, edging, street sign maintenance and graffiti removal. Work is closely supervised; work methods are explained in specific terms and work is subject to frequent review.

The City of Newark is seeking an experienced Aquatics Programs Specialist who is well versed with the development and effective implementation of aquatic programs tailored to different age groups and skill levels, such as swimming lessons, water aerobics, lifeguard training, and more. The Specialist will work out of the George M Silliman Community Activity Center.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
THE POSITION
Incumbent will perform sub-professional engineering work in the areas of design, construction, surveying, traffic and land development; to perform office and field duties including drafting, assisting in construction inspection, permit issuance, engineering research and traffic counts.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Division Manager. Functional or technical supervision may also be provided by professional or management level positions.
