The City of San Dimas is seeking an enthusiastic team player for its Recreation Specialist position to work under direction of the Recreation Coordinator to assist with planning, coordinating, promoting and implementing Kids Fun Club Day Camp program.

Representative Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Assisting with planning, organizing, promotion, and supervision of daily operation of Kids Fund Club Day Camp programs.
    
2. Maintaining accurate records.
    
3. Communicate effectively, orally, and in writing with general public, service partner representatives, and other City departments.
    
4. Completion of reports.
    
5. Limited supervision of part-time personnel and volunteers.
    
6. Monitoring maintenance of facility.

JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision, Recreation Leaders are responsible for coordinating and conducting a variety of youth recreation activities, and providing general supervision of children or teens at a summer camp, playground program, sports program and/or special events.  Recreation leaders must be available Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., and additional hours as assigned.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

1. Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and executing a variety of games, sports and crafts for children of various ages.
    
2. Provide customer service to the public as needed.
    
3. Responsible for the general safety and well-being of the children at the assigned playground.
    
4. Assist the department at other special recreation events as assigned.
    
5. Perform other related duties as required.

The City of Chowchilla is seeking a Parks & Facilities Worker I, under general supervision from the Public Works Supervisor, to provide clean, well-maintained, and attractive parks and facilities and information about park and recreation facilities and services.

THE POSITION

Parks & Facilities Worker I

This is an entry level-level classification. Some positions may require a valid Commercial Applicator’s Certificate, and involve the use of mechanized spraying equipment for the application of pesticides and herbicides.  This class is further distinguished by need for greater independence of judgment and action and because incumbents may act as a lead worker with other Park Workers.   

Prerequisites:   Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for a Parks & Facilities Worker I. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of one year of experience in the care and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities, or related work, valid California Driver License, and a high school diploma or equivalent.   

The City of Belmont Public Works Department is recruiting for the position of Associate Civil Engineer.

The Associate Civil Engineer performs a variety of complex engineering work for design and management of public works projects and oversight of private development and permitted construction, prepares a variety of engineering documents, drawings and specifications, and performs a variety of professional public works and engineering tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.  The current vacancy is in Land Development.

This is the full journey level class within the professional Civil Engineer series.  Employees within this class are distinguished from the Assistant Civil Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Assistant Civil Engineer level, or when filled from the outside, have prior experience. This class is distinguished from the Senior Civil Engineer in that the latter performs the most difficult and responsible duties assigned to the classification including management of the most complex engineering projects or exercising lead direction over lower level staff.

The responsibilities and duties of the Associate Civil Engineer may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform a variety of engineering duties in support of capital improvement projects including road construction, storm drains, sewers, traffic systems and related construction projects.
• Perform design and engineering studies for capital improvement projects; including the preparation of project plans, drawing specifications, cost estimates and project schedules.
• Preparation of Request for Proposals, including scope of work for a variety of engineering projects and studies.  Management of engineering consultant procurement process and oversight of engineering consultants.
• Manage advertisement and award of construction projects including the review of contract bids and proposals; management of construction contracts including participating in the review of contractor work activities; ensures contract compliance with contractual obligations, prepares and reviews change orders and manages contract close out and acceptance.
• Coordinate projects and assignments with businesses, utilities, special districts, and other City departments. Respond to complaints and assists in solving problems related to City projects and policies; provides information to property owners, contractors, engineers, consultants, and the general public on conformance to standards, plans, specifications, and costs.
• Conduct field inspections of capital projects during construction; ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations; provides resolutions to construction problems.
• Perform a variety of engineering calculations and computation; prepare project cost analyses.
• Review and provide plan check comments for private development applications and building, grading, and encroachment permits in accordance with City codes, ordinances, and policies. Review of required studies and coordinates with consultants to provide peer review of special studies.
• Exercise professional engineering judgment in accordance with current accepted practice of civil engineering and appropriate laws and codes.
• Maintain a variety of public works department and engineering division program and project files and records.

PSE – PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER I/II

THE POSITION
The PSE – Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, culverts and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and repair activities or in the various solid waste site activities of the Public Works Agency. This position may operate a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks. The PSE – Public Works Maintenance Worker I is the entry/journey-level class series, and is distinguished from the next higher classification of PSE - Public Works Maintenance Worker II in that the latter is the entry/journey-level responsible to perform a wider range of duties in the assigned maintenance area and is required to have a Class B driver’s license with appropriate endorsements. This position is at-Will, Temporary and scheduled for up to forty (40) hours per week. This recruitment may be used to establish a list to fill future vacancies for the next twelve (12) months.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Experience:            I/II - Some experience in the construction trades or road maintenance is desirable.

Training:        I/II - Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

License or Certificate:    I - Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California Class B driver’s license within one year of employment. II - Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid California Class A driver’s license with proper endorsements within one year of employment.
