About the Position: The incumbent will be a part of a collaborative, three-person Grants Program team within Administrative Services. Midpen aims to recruit and retain employees who embody professionalism, accountability, and respect, who value working in a purpose-driven agency that aspires to contribute to an inclusive, diverse and equitable community.
The Grants Program identifies and secures external funding and manages a small Grantmaking Program. In this role, the Senior Technician supports the entirety of the grant lifecycle, including identifying funding opportunities, application review and editing, and, once awarded, developing funding agreements, monitoring compliance with the grant agreements, and working with Midpen departments to submit reimbursement requests, reports, and project deliverables. Additionally, the Senior Technician supports the administration of a small grantmaking program. Other duties include administrative and record-keeping functions, including editing board reports, meeting scheduling, contract management, invoice processing, and data management. This is an advanced journey-level classification, where you will be asked to perform detailed and technical work accurately and in a timely manner.

Work Environment: This position is part of Administrative Services at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California. Midpen offers a hybrid office/telecommute work schedule for this position.

Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: equivalent to the completion of twelfth (12th) grade supplemented by college-level coursework in accounting or finance and five (5) years of experience in the maintenance of financial and accounting records, budgeting, grants support, procurement support, or financial support experience. Prior experience in the public sector is highly desired.
Licenses & Certifications Required: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
