THE POSITION

Under direction of the City Engineer or Assistant City Engineer, a Senior Civil Engineer supervises field and office work in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public infrastructure; manages land development processes; manages and performs engineering analysis; implements programs and administers projects; may supervise a major section in the Engineering Division; and performs other duties as assigned. The Senior Civil Engineer performs and supervises the most complex engineering assignments.

This Senior Civil Engineer position will manage capital projects and may also oversee some development projects.  Examples of projects include:

• Arroyo Trail T 13, 1.5 miles paved trail through Wente Vineyard and LARPD Sycamore Grove properties and includes a 100’ pedestrian bridge.
• Arroyo Las Positas Creek channel widening, flood walls and Airway Blvd Culvert Replacement adjacent to Las Positas Golf course and Livermore Municipal Airport.
• Bridge Preventive Maintenance Program for 19 city bridges
• Manage other city asset programs such as pavement rehabilitation, sidewalk, ADA ramps.

Temporary Maintenance Worker – Parks & Roadsides 

Salary: $20.00/hour

DEFINITION 

Perform a variety of general maintenance services for parks and roadsides and other areas as assigned within the Town.   

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position. 
• Flexible schedule up to 29 hours per week, which may include weekend work; not to exceed 950 hours per calendar year. The schedule for this position would be Friday through Monday. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED 

General supervision is received from the Maintenance Supervisor. May exercise supervision of Work Alternative Program participants as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES 

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:  

• Clean up trash in and around Town-maintained park and roadside areas. 
• Operate a variety of equipment, including: half ton and three-quarter ton trucks, Cushman and golf cart (or similar) vehicles, blowers and other two-cycle equipment, and hand tools (i.e., shovel, rake, hoe, etc.). 
• Periodically groom sports fields and bocce ball courts with equipment and/or machinery provided. 
• Prepare baseball fields and bocce ball courts for league play. 
• Assist Maintenance Services personnel on assigned projects.  

• Perform duties within OSHA standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Knowledge of: 

• Construction and maintenance materials, methods, and terminology. 

• The use, purposes and maintenance of hand tools; and the operation of light and moderately heavy power-driven equipment in performing duties. 

Ability to: 

• Understand and follow oral and written directions. 
• Ability to work both in a supervised and unsupervised environment. 
• Perform manual labor for extended periods of time; and operate under tight deadlines. 
• Lift equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. 
• Work flexible hours. 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION 

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: 

Education: 

Equivalent to completion of the eighth grade. Graduation from high school or equivalent is preferred. 

Experience: 

Landscape and/or irrigation maintenance experience is desirable. 

LICENCE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S) 

Possession of a valid California State Driver’s License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire and good driving record.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

• Provides resources and referrals to address basic needs and other barriers to wellness and recovery including food, housing, clothing, transportation, and other financial resources.

• Assists clients with setting, implementing, and tracking wellness and recovery goals; develops individual Wellness and Recovery Action Plans (WRAP); models and shares effective coping strategies.

• Assists clients and families to understand behavioral health problems and steps to recovery.

We are currently looking for a Clinical Therapist I or II to work on our MHSSA Grant Team within Tri-City's Child & Family Clinic. This position will be a part of a 3 year - federally funded MHSSA Grant Team that is scheduled to end in December 2026. The team is being formed to foster stronger school-community mental health partnerships that can leverage resources to help students succeed.  The Clinical Therapist I/II position will report to a Clinical Supervisor and will work on a multidisciplinary team consisting of other Clinical Therapists and Behavioral Health Specialists in partnership with the school and families.

These positions are responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Work directly with or work with staff who work directly with at high-risk youth, foster youth, youth who identify as LGBTQ+, and youth who have been suspended or expelled from school and their families to provide culturally inclusive and relevant mental health services such as early intervention, suicide prevention, drop-out prevention, evidence based mental health practices and the development and coordination of service plans to address ongoing needs;

• Provides individual, group, and family interventions, rehabilitation, and treatment services including counseling, therapy, case management, and referral and linkage to community services to a variety of clients including high acuity clients.

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is looking to fill one vacancy for the Bilingual Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) for the Adult Outpatient Department to provide a variety of rehabilitative support services to clients to facilitate behavior modification, skill building, and self-care and safety in individual and/or group
settings. The BHS will demonstrate and coach clients to promote and reinforce the use of effective coping
strategies and techniques based on individual needs and treatment plans; perform outreach and
provide linkages and referrals to a variety of behavioral health, community, and social services,
resources, and systems of care.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provides individual, group, family, and collateral rehabilitative support services to facilitate behavior modification including skill building, needs assessment, self-care/safety, and coping strategies and techniques; may provide case management services in the office and in the field.
