San Jose Animal Care Services, a division in the Public Works Department is currently seeking to fill four (4) full-time Animal Care Attendant vacancies. Both day and night shifts are available.

Animal Care Attendants report to the Shelter Manager of Animal Care and Services and are primarily responsible for feeding, caring for, and moving shelter animals; euthanizing animals; and cleaning and disinfecting kennels and cages. Other duties may include receiving animals brought to the shelter by Animal Control Officers or the public; assisting the public in claiming impounded animals or in adoptions; completing and maintaining animal records; responding to questions regarding age, breed characteristics and treatment of animals; and explaining and interpreting animal control laws, ordinances, regulations, procedures, and policies to the public.

Animal Care Attendants are required to work weekends, holidays, nights, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency animal services assignments during off-duty hours.

Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 100 pounds while handling animals and equipment. Employees may work outside and be exposed to inclement weather, may be exposed to blood borne pathogens while using hypodermic needles on animals, may be exposed to animal scratches and bites, and may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, gases, chemicals, pollens, and other airborne irritants.

This position will undergo training (4-6 weeks) during normal business hours and will be scheduled to work 5 days a week in either a daytime shift OR overnight shift ( e.g . 9:00 pm to 5:30 a m) after training has been completed. This position will be require d to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency animal services assignments.

Animal Care Attendant I : The hourly range for Animal Care Attendant I is $2 5.44 - $ 30.94 approximately .

This range i ncludes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be de termined b y the final candidates' qualifications and experience.

The City of Patterson is currently recruiting to fill one (1) vacancy for a part-time Facility Custodian with the Recreation & Community Services Department and to establish an Eligibility List.

Duties include, but are not limited to: under general supervision, performs routine custodial and cleaning duties in municipal buildings and adjacent grounds; performs related work as assigned.

This is a part time position with hours up to 19 hours per week.  Must be available to work nights and weekends with varying shifts and schedules.  

The City of Patterson is seeking to fill one (1) part-time vacancy for a Facility Attendant in the Recreation Department and to establish an eligibility list.

Duties include, but are not limited to: under direct supervision, performs a variety of facility related tasks to ensure effective operations at the Recreation and Community Services Complex and related facilities and parks. Prepares facilities for use; works with users during events; provides set-up and arrangements for classes, meetings, and public and private events; registers participants for recreational programs; assists with cleaning and maintaining of Community Services' facilities including removing and disposing of trash, sweeping, and mopping of floors.  Provides staff support for recreation events and programs.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Civil Engineer or Project Manager will work under the direction of the City Engineer and/or the Public Works Director and will lead the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Section. This supervisory position will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the implementation of the City’s CIP, including the planning, design, construction, and inspection of a variety of projects.  Responsibilities include supervising employees, directing complex professional-level field and office engineering assignments, developing strategies and schedules for implementing the CIP, assisting with CIP budgeting, and playing a significant role in making a difference in the community!

Both the Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager classifications are exempt, mid-management level positions. The Project Manager classification is distinguished from the Senior Civil Engineer in that a professional engineer license is not required.

Public Works CIP projects involve planning, design, coordination with end users, bid package preparation, and construction management.  Therefore, exceptional organizational and project management skills are imperative to achieve department and City goals. Additionally, successful performance requires the ability to independently implement programs, projects, and policies in conformance with generally accepted standards, including possessing thorough knowledge of contract administration, project management principles and supervisory practices.

The Senior Civil Engineer or Project Manager will manage assigned staff and consultants and assist with budgeting tasks within the Engineering Division. Furthermore, the Senior Civil Engineer/ Project Manager will provide and participate in critical team leadership to ensure that all engineering services, goals, projects, and initiatives meet the high-performance standards of the Department and City.

The City of Sunnyvale’s Department of Public Works is recruiting for two Senior Maintenance Worker positions within the Street Operations division. The City of Sunnyvale is recruiting for one Senior Park Utility Worker: Tree Maintenance in the Department of Public Works.  This position will lead a small crew (2 to 4 person crew), where the incumbent performs the work duties assigned as well as directs and oversees the work of the crew members.

Hours: Casual non-benefited employees are limited to working no more than twenty-five (25) hours per week and no more than 900 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Varying shifts are available including Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Under general supervision, individuals assigned to this classification assist the organization to develop and design reports, websites, social media collateral and other marketing and presentation materials. This classification focuses on the development of written and graphic representation for division or department materials. Individuals in this classification are primarily focused on enhancing the Division’s social media presence, developing all written material, performing administrative tasks, attending fairs and events to promote Recreation Services programs; and perform/ related work as required.

This position is characterized by developing new and innovative marketing collateral with limited structure or routine work. Work assignments are performed in collaboration with various divisions and levels of staff, independently, with responsibility for following through on development. The position requires creative ability, knowledge of how to generate graphics using The Adobe Suite, Canva, Microsoft Publisher, Word and Excel and the ability to exercise a reasonable degree of independent judgment. WORKING CONDITIONS
Position is required to work on the Community Center campus and may not work from home. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination when using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision when reading and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, push and pull files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds also is required. Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:
