The County of Yuba is recruiting for the position of Social Worker III/III Master’s Level in the Child and Adult Protective Services Division of the Health & Human Services Department in an effort to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. Under general supervision, incumbents are fully competent to independently perform the most complex and sensitive social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, access and document abuse and neglect cases; provide counseling and support services to children and parents; refer clients to services; prepare detailed, complex court documents and testify in court as required; and perform related work as assigned. San Mateo County Health's Aging and Adult Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Social Worker II (SW II) to provide a wide variety of services in such areas as information and referral, supportive services, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, and other welfare within San Mateo County Health and the Human Services Agency.
 
The current vacancy is in the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) / Partners for Independence (PFI) Unit - Community Services (CS) that provides CS services coordination for adults who have complex medical and psychosocial needs and are at-risk for out of home placement.  ECM/PFI CS is a voluntary program that may be offered to San Mateo County residents who have Medi-CAL, who are aged and/or disabled with CalAIM CS needs.  
 
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Social Worker II screens applicants’ eligibility for CalAIM CS services. The SW II will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits to educate eligible clients regarding services, participate at Interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, coordinate services to assist clients and to perform other duties of the position.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Senior Traffic Signal Technician performs semi-skilled tasks involving maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of traffic signals, controllers, and street lighting systems; leads and participates in a work crew; and performs other duties as assigned. About the Position

The Public Works Maintenance Worker I is an entry-level classification in the Maintenance Worker series. THE DEPARTMENT:

THE POSITION:

There is one vacant position, and the successful applicant will be offered one of the following positions based on qualifications and experience: Traffic Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer. The Senior Civil Engineer position will have an emphasis in the traffic division. The position will perform the following essential job duties:

• Manage City-wide traffic system.
• Oversee City's traffic signal system and maintenance contracts and directs necessary changes to modify the system.
• Issue work orders to make changes to existing roadway system to improve safety and capacity.
• Perform traffic signal timing and operation.
• Conduct transportation modeling to assess the City's future traffic conditions and subsequently assist to develop policies to evaluate proposed developments.
• Participate in Traffic Coordinating Committee to address complaints, requests for changes, and neighborhood calming techniques and studies.
• Analyze transportation impact studies, recommends mitigation, and recommends project conditions of approval.
• Meet with other department staff to address traffic engineering issues.
• Develop project designs, applies for grant funding, obtains permits from Caltrans and other agencies. Coordinate with other public and private agencies.
• Conduct transportation planning referrals and review.
• Perform accident reconstruction to determine primary collision factor. Determines changes needed in roadway.
• Prepare technical reports for use by City attorneys and advise attorneys on traffic engineering matters.
• Prepare reports and technical applications for grants from Federal and State sources. Make presentations to selection committees.
• Perform complex and detailed analysis of roadway network using sophisticated computer software programs and methodologies.

They will use their communication skills and strengths to advocate for various modes of transportation including bicycle, pedestrian, transit and vehicular. They will be flexible, with the ability to adjust priorities at short notice and respond to emergencies. They will be able to think analytically but also be very decisive when needed.

Prior supervisory and/or municipal engineering experience is desired. The successful candidate will lead by example to foster a positive, creative, and productive work environment for all staff. About the Role

The newly created Community Services Division Director position is an exciting and unique opportunity to build a new division of the City of San Rafael.

The Community Services Division Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the City of San Rafael's efforts to address critical social issues, particularly focusing on homelessness at this time.  Reporting directly to the Assistant City Manager, the Division Director will oversee and develop the newly created Community Services Division, ensuring the effective development and implementation of programs that improve the quality of life for residents in need.

In this role, the Division Director will manage a broad range of responsibilities, from strategic planning and policy development to budget management and interdepartmental and interagency coordination. They will be a key liaison between the City and  our County partners, and various other stakeholders, including public agencies, community organizations, and residents. Their work will involve close collaboration with other City departments, public and private partners, and community groups to advance initiatives that address homelessness and related services.

In their first year, they’ll work to develop the City’s first homelessness strategic plan, setting priorities and policies to guide the City’s work in this space for the next five years.

One of the key, immediate priorities the Division Director will oversee is the implementation of the City’s $6M Encampment Resolution Fund Grant. This includes leading the contractor and staff team operating the City’s planned Sanctioned Camping Program and spearheading the identification of a site for a future interim shelter and/or transitional housing. In addition, they’ll also coordinate the implementation of the City’s Camping on Public Property ordinance.

The Community Services Division Director will directly and indirectly lead a dedicated team, guiding their efforts to deliver high-quality services that meet and respond to the needs of the community. The City of Thousand Oaks has an exciting opportunity! We are seeking a knowledgeable and results oriented Plan Check Supervisor who will be responsible for staff oversight, assigning, reviewing, organizing, and participating in the work of the Plan Check Section staff in the Building Division of the Community Development Department.

Plan check functions include ensuring permits are issued only for those plans that meet all state and local codes regulating life-safety, quality of life, energy conservation, and structural safety standards. This position is responsible for the more technical and complex plan check tasks and serves as a technical resource to staff.

• Plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned plan check staff; develops, implements, and monitors work plans to achieve goals and objectives; supervises and participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating plans, work processes, systems, and procedures to achieve annual goals, objectives, and work standards.
• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets; regularly monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development; recommends compensation and provides other rewards to recognize performance; recommends disciplinary action, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies, in accordance with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
• Participates in the selection of plan check staff; provides or coordinates staff training; works with employees to correct deficiencies.
• Establishes schedules and methods for providing plan check services; identifies resource needs; reviews needs with appropriate management staff; allocates resources accordingly.
• Provides leadership and works with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the department’s and the City’s mission, objectives and values.

• Performs the more difficult and complex engineering tasks related to plan checking; reviews complex and difficult construction plans including those for single- and multiple-family dwellings, residential additions, alterations, and repairs, commercial and industrial structures and buildings as well as additions, alterations and repairs, and other projects.
• Reviews and verifies engineering calculations and architectural plans, grading plans, soil engineering recommendations, and related items to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances as well as seismic design provisions; indicates corrections for both plans and calculations; communicates in writing with engineers, architects, and others regarding plan review findings and proposed corrections.
• Reviews and evaluates the most difficult and complex proposed building plans and specifications to insure that proposed construction complies with building, fire, environmental, flood hazard, design, energy, grading, trades, and related codes.
• Makes code interpretations for, responds to more complicated inquiries from, and provides information to architects, engineers, contractors, building designers, owners, and the general public regarding plan review and other code-related items and issues.
• Explains, interprets, and provides guidance regarding applicable codes, regulations, hand-outs, and related materials to the public, architects, engineers, contractors, developers, owners, staff, and other interested parties; answers questions regarding building codes and requirements and interprets plans for field inspectors; resolves highly complex and sensitive customer service issues, including alternate methods and materials, either personally, by telephone or in writing; maintains records and documents of customer service issues and resolutions.
• Coordinates activities and plan review processing with other City staff and staff from other agencies including counter technicians, planners, inspectors, building officials, engineers, fire inspectors, health department plan checkers, and others; assists other Divisions and Departments, including Planning, Public Works, and Finance, in providing information and answering inquiries regarding various projects, fees, plans examination, code interpretations, internal divisional policy and procedures, determination and calculation of valuations, permit costs, and related fees.
• Performs document research and filing; enters data; prepares and maintains records and produces correspondence and documentation as necessary.
• Performs field inspections and site visits as necessary; visits building and construction sites to make determinations on code compliance, answer inquiries related to plans, and to resolve problems.
