ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for a versatile Facilities Maintenance Specialist that is knowledgeable and experienced in a diverse set of technical trades.  
 
Under direct supervision of the Facilities Superintendent, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist performs a variety of semi-skilled construction and/or repair work related to electrical wiring, plumbing installations, carpentry work, HVAC, and much more. In this position you must be proficient with basic tools and equipment, and have the capability to diagnose mechanical problems and methodically troubleshoot any issues occurring with building systems, machines, and equipment. Project managements skills and appropriately prioritizing your work is imperative to succeed in this position. Additionally, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist must possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, along with a friendly and outgoing demeanor to provide quality customer service. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting for a versatile financial professional to fill the position of Financial Analyst. The goal of the Finance Department is to provide timely and accurate financial information to city management, city council and the public and administer the city’s assets including cash and investments, in a prudent and responsible manner.
 
Under general supervision of the Finance Director, the Financial Analyst will perform a variety of professional level financial and accounting duties and budget analysis work for the Finance Department. Primary responsibility will include maintenance and administration of the financial system, performance of complex accounting entries and budgetary oversight, coordination of non-routine finance projects, creation and maintenance of financial reports, and analysis of other high-level financial issues. Additional work assignments including assisting other departments are anticipated. This is an exempt, mid-management level position in the Gilroy Management Association employee group.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is recruiting to fill the position of Finance Manager. The goal of the Finance Department is to provide timely and accurate financial information to city management, city council and the public and administer the city’s assets including cash and investments, in a prudent and responsible manner.
 
Under direct supervision of the Finance Director, is directly responsible for functions within the accounting, budget, purchasing, payroll, utility billing, and/or payroll units and in the absence of the Director, assumes the responsibility for all Finance Department operations. The Finance Manager is a confidential, unrepresented, exempt-level position that provides analytical data, information, and reports in support of the City’s labor negotiations function.
 
The incumbent will have many opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills on technology implementation, utility rate studies, and rate setting processes set forth within the parameters of Proposition 218. Additionally, in this position you will have the opportunity to develop leadership abilities and personal management skills.

Qualifications:  Any combination of education and experience providing the job knowledge, skills, and ability for successful job performance will be considered for positions in this classification.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

EDUCATION:    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

EXPERIENCE:  Three (3) years of professional accounting experience performing varied financial analysis, auditing, record-keeping and report preparation duties

THE CONTROLLER'S OFFICE 
The Controller's Office mission is to promote the County's operational effectiveness and ensure its financial transparency and integrity by providing quality accounting, audit, and financial reporting services.
 
THE INTERNAL AUDIT DIVISION 
The Division works to help safeguard County assets and reduce risks.
