San Mateo County Health's Aging and Adult Services Division is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Social Worker II (SW II) to provide a wide variety of services in such areas as information and referral, supportive services, protective services, out-of-home services, health related services, and other welfare within San Mateo County Health and the Human Services Agency.
 
The current vacancy is in the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) / Partners for Independence (PFI) Unit - Community Services (CS) that provides CS services coordination for adults who have complex medical and psychosocial needs and are at-risk for out of home placement.  ECM/PFI CS is a voluntary program that may be offered to San Mateo County residents who have Medi-CAL, who are aged and/or disabled with CalAIM CS needs.  
 
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Social Worker II screens applicants’ eligibility for CalAIM CS services. The SW II will travel throughout the County to conduct home visits to educate eligible clients regarding services, participate at Interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings, coordinate services to assist clients and to perform other duties of the position.

 The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Master's degree in Social Work.
• Excellent communication skills with seniors, cognitive and behavior challenged clients and their caregivers to develop an appropriate respite schedule for clients.
• Experience using comprehensive assessment tools to identify the needs of CalAIM CS applicants/participants. 
• Understanding of human development and behavior within diverse populations.
• Ability to independently develop and implement sound case plans of action.
• Experience balancing client-centered care coordination and the accompanying administrative documentation.
• Familiarity in implementing program regulations.
• Superior organizational skills to manage a large caseload and related documents.
• Proficient computer skills to use several independent data base systems as well as Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technology, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent writing/documentation skills.
• Valid CA driver license is required.
• Fluency in other languages in addition to English is a plus 

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification:

• California class C driver license or equivalent.

Education: Satisfactory completion of 30 semester units of social welfare and/or appropriate behavioral science courses.

Experience: Two years experience performing duties comparable to those of a Social Worker I or higher in San Mateo County. Substitution: Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work.

The Position

The Human Resources IT Manager - HRIS/HRMS (Manager) will possess in-depth knowledge of the functions of human resources in a large, complex organization and how HR programs and software work within a company's culture and infrastructure.

The Big Lift, a collective impact initiative that seeks to increase kindergarten readiness and improve third grade reading proficiency in San Mateo County, is recruiting to fill one Intern Fellow II vacancy.

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provides a variety of office support activities including customer service, telephone and counter reception, document processing, record keeping, data entry and organization, cashiering, and filing; provides information and assistance to staff and the general public; and performs related work as assigned.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

Initially, under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform general office support work such as customer service at the front counter and over the phone, file and records maintenance, data entry, and screening phone calls, visitors, and mail, and directing questions to the appropriate staff. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied, complex, and difficult; and positions exercise judgment and initiative in their assigned tasks, receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. The Redwood City Fire Department is seeking individuals for the position of Cadet Firefighter. The Cadet Firefighter Program is designed to allow students an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of fire department operations. Fire Department Cadets spend a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours per month at the firehouse, participating in calls for service, station duties, and training. Cadets will also be expected to attend department-sponsored community functions outside of their 96-hour monthly commitment. Though the goal is to immerse the cadet into all aspects of fire department life, they are not allowed to participate in situations deemed Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health (IDLH).

This Fire Cadet position is a non-benefited volunteer position.

Under general supervision, an Employee Assistance Counselor provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral of City and County employees experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues. A Counselor conducts seminars, trainings, and consultations on issues related to personal and organizational wellness; prepares records and reports; and performs related duties as required.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Provides clinical assessment, short-term counseling and referral services to employees of the City and County who are experiencing difficulties related to personal or work-related problems, such as stress, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, emotional concerns or relationship issues; provides counseling of family members and significant others as appropriate.
2. Facilitates seminars and trainings for employees and management on personal, interpersonal and organizational issues such as the effective management of stress, anger and emotions, workplace negativity and dealing with difficult people.
3. Assists in evaluation efforts to determine the effectiveness of services provided.
4. Educates employees, supervisors and managers regarding EAP service offerings, how to access services, early identification of personal and workplace problems, and referrals to the program.
5. Provides trauma response, crisis intervention and mediation/conflict resolution services as requested.
6. Collects client and program data for tracking, conducts analysis, and prepares related records and reports as requested.
