About The Position:

Under direction, the Custodian performs routine manual cleaning tasks in public buildings, schools, other facilities, and surrounding areas.

MAINTENANCE WORKER (Full time)

Working in the Public Works Department, the Maintenance Worker I/II will perform a variety of unskilled, semiskilled and skilled light and heavy duty construction, maintenance and repair work involving public works, sewer and drainage systems, buildings, parking meters, and other facilities.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Maintenance Worker I:  This is the entry level class in the maintenance worker series. Positions in this class normally perform a variety of unskilled and semi‑skilled maintenance tasks. Although trucks and other motorized equipment may be operated by a Maintenance Worker I, the equipment is used on a training basis or for tasks which are repetitious in nature. Under this training concept, positions assigned to the class of Maintenance Worker II which become vacant may reasonably be filled at the Maintenance Worker I level, with the understanding that reassignment to the Maintenance Worker II class may be expected following successful job performance and personal development.

Maintenance Worker II: This is the journey level in the maintenance worker series. Positions assigned to this class are expected to perform semi‑skilled and skilled public works maintenance activities and to operate light and moderately heavy power‑driven equipment on a continuing basis. All positions allocated to this class require that an incumbent be able to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative to fulfill assigned tasks. Maintenance Workers II may also be expected to assist in the supervision and training of less experienced personnel.

What You’ll Do

The Community Services Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the leisure, cultural, and human services activities of the Division and providing highly responsible professional and technical staff assistance. Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Plan, organize, coordinate and direct the work of subordinates in developing and implementing a broad and diversified community recreation and human services program.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the full journey-level classification in the wastewater treatment plant operator series. Incumbents independently perform the full range of wastewater treatment and reclamation and recycled water facilities and equipment operations and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include inspecting and attending to assigned areas in a timely manner to ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant systems and equipment. Positions at this level work independently, exercise judgment and initiative and receive occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise. This class is distinguished from the Lead Plant Operator in that the latter is responsible for providing technical and functional direction to operations staff and is capable of performing the most complex operations and maintenance duties assigned to the division.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED

Receives supervision and direction from the Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager or designee. Exercises lead oversight, including provision of technical supervision, assignment of work and/or the training of less experienced staff.

Under general direction, the Deputy District Attorney I/II/III performs legal work in the enforcement of laws; prosecutes criminal cases as assigned by the District Attorney; advises the general public and law enforcement officers on criminal matters; and does related work as required. The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.
