THE POSITION:

Under general supervision, responsible for protecting the community from dangerous and sick animals; enforcing and investigating local municipal, state, and federal animal laws; preventing the spread of zoonotic diseases; capturing and impounding a variety of animals requiring specialized equipment; euthanizing animals as deemed necessary; providing care and maintenance for animals; picking up and disposing of deceased animals; assisting in licensing; providing humane education to residents in the community and children in schools; and performing other related duties as required.

License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C California Driver's License by the time of appointment.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II (Licensed) on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

Tri-City’s MCCP operates 24/7 to provide crucial support in mobile crises. As such, the schedule will involve a 3/12 shift pattern, consisting of three twelve-hour days per workweek and one alternating eight-hour day every other week. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays.

The specific shift and schedule will be determined by the supervisor; however, the first one to two months of training will follow a 5-day-per-week, 40-hour-per-week schedule

Examples of shifts are included below:

• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, or 8:00 PM - 4:00 AM

Shift Rotation

Availability

• As our Mobile Crisis Care team provides critical support during community crises, it’s essential that members can respond promptly. To ensure timely response, team members must reside within a 30-minute commute to the Authority in heavy traffic. THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for two individuals to fill the positions of Psychiatric Technician I/II whom will provide medication support services both in the field and at the office. This particular position is located within the Adult Outpatient Clinic and will report to the Medication Support Team Manager & the Medication Support Services Supervisor. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services.

Psychiatric Technician I: This is the entry-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform routine medication monitoring, administration, and support, while learning Authority policies and procedures. 

Psychiatric Technician II: This is the journey-level classification in the Psychiatric Technician series. Positions at this level are distinguished from the Psychiatric Technician I by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, working independently, and exercising judgment and initiative. THE POSITION

Tri-City is currently hiring to fill one part-time vacancy for the position of Peer Support Specialist II within the Adult Outpatient (AOP) Department. This position provides peer to peer support services in the office and/or in the field including, but not limited to outreach, support, encouragement, guidance, advocacy, and referrals to external resources and services for clients and their families; builds rapport with clients and their families through sharing stories of lived experience and recovery.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Encourages and supports clients to fully engage in services; provides outreach and assists clients in addressing and overcoming barriers to treatment.

San Mateo County Health is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Edison Clinic Therapist (Psychiatric Social Worker I/II).

Under general supervision, the Clinic Therapist will work approximately 40 hours per week, providing a wide variety of therapeutic services and, if time permits, up to 10 hours of social work case management services. Responsibilities include screening, assessment, evaluation, and psychotherapy, with a focus when appropriate on harm reduction therapeutic interventions and support services for clients in need of, or currently receiving, substance abuse therapy and treatment.

Additional duties include developing and implementing activities related to substance abuse prevention, intervention, and rehabilitation, as well as performing other related work. The position also involves providing social work services to non-therapy clients in support of other on-staff social work case managers.

The Position
The position will be embedded at the Public Health, Policy and Planning Edison Clinic at the San Mateo Medical Center, and possibly one morning per week at the Fair Oaks Health Center, with clinic hours Monday through Friday. 

This position will engage individuals with a range of mental health and substance use disorders to provide a range of services and supports, including but not limited to, diagnosis of issues to be focus of clinical attention, including substance use and other behavioral health needs; screening/assessing clients' needs using assessment criteria to determine medical necessity and identification of key clinical interventions; determination of stage of change; and engaging clients by using Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction practices.

The provider will provide therapy for primary case load, and as a backup also provide case management services, including transportation, client advocacy, client-driven treatment planning, and care coordination with other care providers; navigation of medical and mental health services, including medication assisted treatments; assisting clients with enrolling into benefits, including health coverage for which they are eligible; participate in a multidisciplinary team; use clinical consultation care coordination meetings; and partner with key referral sources and other service providers including but not limited to, San Mateo Medical Center (SMMC) Emergency Department (ED), Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES), and Primary Care and Specialty Clinics, BHRS clinics and programs, Substance Use Disorder treatment providers, including Palm Avenue Detox, shelters, Probation, and Correctional Health.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have significant knowledge, skills, experience, and training in providing therapy as well as case management; assessing and evaluating adult clients with mental health and substance use issues; determining appropriate referrals and recommending treatment plans; documenting in electronic medical records; establishing appropriate clinical relationships; and demonstrating strong understanding of confidentiality and ethics.

Three years of experience in clinical social work, psychotherapy, or a related field, particularly with diverse populations affected by mental health and substance use issues is highly desirable.

Special Requirements:  

• Individuals in this classification assigned to an on-site school program are required to meet any specialized requirements (i.e., Pupil Personnel Services credential) as stipulated by federal and state laws and regulations.

• Establishes constructive relationships with residents, community agencies, property management and related staff.
• Educates residents on service availability, benefits and other application procedures, tenant rights, tools for healthy living and lease compliance.
• Publishes building activities and events through flyers, newsletters and a monthly calendar.
• Leads a wide range of activities designed to build community and provide residents with opportunities for socialization, wellness, education and volunteering.
• Other duties as assigned by the management team.
