THE POSITION

Work Environment:  This position is part of the Planning Department at Midpen’s office in Los Altos, California.  The Planner III will be expected to be available to provide project presentations in the evenings and sometimes on weekends. Under supervision, the Community Service Officer (CSO) performs a wide range of field and office support duties in the patrol and support services divisions within the Marysville Police Department.

This is a specialized, full-time, non-sworn classification. The Community Service Officer has no powers of arrest.

Definition: 
To perform varied and routine non-sworn duties with emphasis on parking enforcement and vehicle abatement program.

Examples of Duties:

• Enforce sections of the Marysville Municipal Code, other enforcement codes; and assist other City Departments in various code enforcement

• Perform traffic control and non-violent crowd control

• Assist Police Officers in routine investigations and respond to and investigate non-injury traffic collisions
