The Firefighter-Paramedic protects life, property, and the environment by performing firefighting activities, emergency medical aid, hazardous materials response, and fire prevention duties. The position is also responsible for maintaining fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities.

Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP)

The Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) is a multi-decade, multi-hazard Program led by the Port of San Francisco with the goal of adapting the Bay waterfront along the Port’s 7.5-mile jurisdiction to address multiple hazards including coastal and combined flooding, sea level rise and earthquakes. The Port and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) released the San Francisco Waterfront Coastal Flood Study Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Statement (Flood Study), including a $13.5 billion Draft Plan for adapting the waterfront for public review in February 2024. The Port is also implementing construction to mitigate risks that can be initiated in the near term (Early Projects) funded by Proposition A, the Seawall Earthquake Safety Bond, and other sources.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) Deputy Program Manager - Environmental develops the programmatic strategy for planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, investigation and remediation of hazardous materials, and permitting and environmental review for all WRP activities through 2030 and beyond, including managing staff, consultants, and public and resource agency engagement.

This position is a key leadership position within the WRP, working collaboratively alongside the WRP Deputy Program Manager – Engineering & Project Delivery, WRP Deputy Program Manager – Planning, and WRP Flood Study Project Manager.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Oversees the planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, including the Living Seawall Pilot and the Engineering with Nature Working Group in coordination with the Waterfront Resilience Program Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager. 
• Oversees the planning and execution of investigation and remediation of hazardous materials related to specific Early Projects and the USACE Flood Study.
• Oversees the planning and execution of environmental studies, including environmental review and analysis required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
• As a Program leader, sets the example of the Program culture of caring including, but not limited to, safety, inclusion, diversity, and equity.
• Coordinates input of Port staff into all relevant Early Project and Flood Study permitting and environmental review.
• In consultation with the Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager, develops and oversees the Engagement Plan for the Resource Agency Working Group, which includes a broad range of regulatory and resource agencies with jurisdiction over construction activities in San Francisco Bay.
• Collaborates with Deputy Program Manager – Engineering and Project Delivery to develop messaging and strategy with the permitting agencies (name them) related to Early Projects.
• Coordinates with City Planning Department (Environmental Planning) to conduct CEQA/NEPA for the Early Projects and the Flood Study and subsequent design and construction.
• Manages and approves the deliverables of environmental consultants.
• For the Flood Study, oversees the analysis and selection of the Least Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) under the Clean Water Act.
• Ensures strategic coordination and consultation on resilience permitting and regulatory issues for individual projects.
• Oversees the CEQA/NEPA effort for the USACE Flood Study which will be managed by the Flood Study Project Manager.
• Oversees environmental team input to design and environmental compliance during construction.
• Works collaboratively with all members of the WRP team to identify and resolve issues promptly, escalating issues for resolution to the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Assistant Port Director and the Port Director as required.
• Provides support and guidance to USACE Flood Study team members to deliver the Study.
• Supervises environmental and permitting staff assigned to the Waterfront Resilience Program.

What You’ll Do

The Environmental Compliance Inspector performs inspections and sampling of industrial, commercial and residential sources of discharge to the City’s sanitary sewer and storm drain systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; inspects hazardous materials storage areas; responds to reports of illicit discharges; performs water quality testing; and conducts public outreach activities.  This classification is distinguished from all other technical and professional classifications in the City by its specialized assignments in support of a variety of environmental compliance programs.  The duties of the class involve courteous, effective and tactful interaction with the community to ensure compliance with wastewater and stormwater discharge regulations.  Persons assigned to this class perform or assist in performing all functions associated with the City’s Source Control (Pretreatment and Pollution Prevention) and Stormwater programs.  This position reports to the Regulatory Compliance Manager or higher level department personnel.

The City of Rocklin is currently accepting applications for a full-time Landscape Services Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision, the Landscape Services Worker performs a variety of landscapes and/or recreational facility maintenance and repair work; provides maintenance support to the Landscape Services Division; and performs related work as required. Examples of duties are:

• Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction and repair of landscapes, and park facilities such as installing and maintaining signs, erecting safety structures (i.e., barricades), installing park structures (i.e., benches, tables, awnings), building and maintaining fences and removing and pouring concrete.
• Inspects assigned landscape areas for safety, appearance and vandalism.
• Cleans and clears landscapes, facilities, structures and playing fields of debris and potentially dangerous conditions.
• Inspects and repairs playground equipment, picnic tables, barbecues, and other related park equipment.
• Plants, mows, prunes, and maintains turf, trees, shrubs, and plants; clears sites of weeds.
• Prepares and maintains athletic fields and related facilities; grades, fills and shapes baseball diamonds.
• Performs minor maintenance and repairs on equipment of park facilities such as replacing light bulbs, repairing electrical equipment (i.e., scoreboards), and laying conduit and pulling wire.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade

AND

One (1) year of experience in the maintenance, modification, and repair of parks, medians, and landscaped areas.

License Requirements

• A valid California Class C driver license or higher with a satisfactory driving record is required at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
•  A valid California Class A driver license with a satisfactory driving record is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• A Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certificate issued by the International Municipal Signal Association (I.M.S.A.), or successful completion of the Traffic Control Technician-CA State Specific Training Course thru the American Traffic Safety Services Association is required within twelve (12) months of appointment.
• Qualified Pesticide Applicator Certificate issued by the Department of Pesticide Regulation is desirable.
• A Playground Safety Certificate is desirable.

The Department: 
 The Assistant City Clerk’s Office/City Manager’s Office is recruiting to fill a Deputy City Clerk. The Assistant City Clerk’s Office is organized under the City Clerk’s Office.  The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes the agendas for and attends all meetings of the Council and Authorities Concurrent and Stadium Authority meetings, maintains accurate and up-to-date records of the proceedings of those meetings and makes those records open for public inspection. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk processes and maintains copies of City contracts, ordinances, resolutions and other official documents. The Office of the Assistant City Clerk manages and compiles City records in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule and in response to Public Records Act requests.  The Position: 
 The Deputy City Clerk will report to the Assistant City Clerk and perform highly complex administrative and analytical work. This position will assist the Assistant City Clerk in the administration of the City Clerk's Office. The incumbent will assist in developing, implementing and coordinating projects, programs and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with Public Record Act (PRA) requests and this position will also support projects and programs within the City Manager’s Office. Incumbents in this position will have considerable independence in making judgment related to their assignments and must handle situations with great sensitivity, tact and diplomacy. May supervise or act as lead worker to staff involved in management activities.  
 
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position. The incumbent serves at the discretion of the City Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Any education or experience equivalent to:

• An Associate of Arts degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or closely related field; and
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory or lead administrative/management experience in a City Clerk's Office. 

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or possession of a Certified Municipal Clerk certification or required within two (2) years of hire.

What You’ll Do

• Perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of diesel and gas-powered apparatus, vehicles, hydraulic systems for aerial ladders, and other like equipment.
• Accept assignments received in the form or oral or written communications.
• Determine the nature and extent of needed repairs, prioritize them, and perform necessary repairs.
• Inspect all department vehicles to ensure they meet proper safety protocols and are in standard working order.
• Maintain all vehicles to ensure safe working order for all employees.
• Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and apparatus including performing tune-ups, lube, oil, filter, Inspection, and chassis lubrication.
• Diagnose, service, maintain such things as: fire pumps, relief valves, and other control of plumbing equipment (proper certification required).
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair engines, power train components, transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, hydraulic and pneumatic brake systems, steering and suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform welding and fabricating work when applicable.
• Operate all equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine shop maintenance and clean-up and dispose of hazardous materials according to established procedures.
• Keep records of work assignments for bookkeeping and tracking purposes.
• Potentially respond to unanticipated emergencies to make temporary and/or permanent repairs in the field.
