The Department: The Suisun City Police Department is a progressive and proactive law enforcement agency. As a result of its proximity to neighboring jurisdictions, the employees of the Suisun City Police Department remain extremely busy as they address the needs of the community. The Position: Under supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher I) or general supervision (Public Safety Dispatcher II)  the incumbent performs a variety of duties involved in receiving, evaluating, prioritizing, and relaying calls for emergency and non-emergency public safety assistance; dispatches appropriate units and coordinates response of emergency personnel; maintains, processes, and distributes police records; operates a variety of telecommunications equipment, including radio, telephone, and CAD systems; and performs a wide variety of specialized clerical duties involved in the preparation, maintenance, and release of materials related to law enforcement activities.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Pacifica Police Department is responsible for all functions related to law enforcement and crime prevention and is made up of several divisions that carry out specialized duties to help the department perform as a cohesive whole. Staff includes thirty-eight (38) full-time positions consisting of the Police Chief, 2 Captains, 7 Sergeants, 6 Corporals, 17 Officers, a Records Supervisor, a Records Clerk, an Evidence Technician, a .5 Property Clerk, 2 .5 grant-funded Community Service Officers and an Administrative Assistant.

THE POSITION

The current opening is for a full-time position and is under the direction of the Police Records Supervisor. The Police Records Clerk will provide a wide variety of clerical, typing, and computer data entry tasks related to Police records; maintaining accurate Police statistics, records, and files; conducting business and transactions with the public, in person and by telephone; is available for occasional night and/or weekend duty as required, and performing other related work as required.

BASIC EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for all Police statistical record keeping.
• Perform a variety of data entry, typing, and clerical work related to all phases of the Police operation,  such as preparing forms, ordering department supplies, and making appointments.
• Prepare correspondence and compile information for reports.
• Direct requests to proper agencies and departments.
• Enter, update, and maintain data while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of all information.
• Coordinate service of subpoenas.
• Compile data for Public Records Act requests.
• Approve and prepare reports for the District Attorney.
• Assist the public both in person and by telephone, requiring knowledge of rules and procedures.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The City of Patterson’s Public Works Department is seeking to fill (1) full-time Electrical & Instrumentation Technician I or II position within the Public Works department and to establish an eligibility list.  Duties include but are not limited to: Under supervision, performs skilled electrical and mechanical work related to the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment associated with the Wastewater Treatment Facility, Water Distribution System, Sewer/Storm Collections pumping stations, Telemetry/SCADA system, Traffic Signal and Street Light System, and related facilities.  Performs related work as assigned.

The County of Yuba is currently accepting Full-Time applications for the position of Office Assistant. The current vacancy exists in the Probation Department. PARKING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/COMMUNITY SERVICES OFFICER

The Parking Enforcement Officer (PEO) performs a variety of law enforcement support duties with the majority of responsibilities involving enforcement of parking rules and regulations in an assigned area while driving a parking enforcement scooter or car or walking on foot. Duties include  reporting defective street signs, pavement markings and parking meters; providing information to the public concerning city geography, location of buildings, public transit stations and stops, and city functions and offices, impounding and providing for the storage of vehicles as necessary, responding to low priority city ordinance violations, assisting with simple evidence collection as needed, assisting with report taking as necessary, and performing related work as required to assist the patrol staff.   

The PEO will use a computer to make entries, update and make corrections to information and keep a variety of detailed logs and files, while also using a variety of law enforcement communication equipment.  In addition to issuing warnings and citations, the PEO may testify in court regarding citations issued and other events.  These duties will be performed under general supervision and when assigned, working with other staff. The majority of the workday will be spent on the field (i.e., outside) in various weather conditions.

A typical schedule is four 10-hour days per week including weekends, nights, and holidays.  The PEO is a physically demanding position as stooping, lifting, kneeling and reaching overhead and forward is required daily.

Under direct supervision, Wastewater Collection Systems Workers perform a variety of routine to skilled work in the construction, modification, maintenance, and repair of City infrastructure, including wastewater collection, stormwater and drainage, and related systems. The successful candidate will use and operate a variety of manual and power tools and light to heavy power-driven equipment to perform skilled and specialized work on drainage, collection, and related systems, and appurtenances, and performs related work as required. The department may hire at either the I or the II level depending on the skills, certifications, licenses held by candidates in the pool of qualified applicants.

This position performs a variety of complex and specialized technical work in the Cooperative Extension Department as the primary administrative support for the 4-H youth development program. Assists in coordinating and implementing assigned program tasks and special events that require a thorough knowledge of the terminology, procedures, and practices, business letter writing and report preparation. Designs and presents general and technical correspondence, and promotional materials; designs and develops forms, tracking systems, databases, and spreadsheets. Supplies individuals with information, copies of documents and records, etc. The position is at-will, temporary, part-time and scheduled for twenty-four (24) hours per week. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Establishes files; maintains accurate and detailed records; verifies the accuracy of information; researches discrepancies and notifies appropriate personnel or agency.
• Word processes and proofreads a variety of documents; enters a variety of departmental data into the computer; retrieves information as needed; operates various printers.
• Compiles data for use in reports and/or managerial decision-making.
• Performs routine clerical duties as required, including but not limited to typing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, retrieving files, entering computer data, completing and processing various forms, maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, assembling materials, faxing information, answering the telephone, greeting and assisting customers / clients, processing mail, etc.
