Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP)

The Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) is a multi-decade, multi-hazard Program led by the Port of San Francisco with the goal of adapting the Bay waterfront along the Port’s 7.5-mile jurisdiction to address multiple hazards including coastal and combined flooding, sea level rise and earthquakes. The Port and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) released the San Francisco Waterfront Coastal Flood Study Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Statement (Flood Study), including a $13.5 billion Draft Plan for adapting the waterfront for public review in February 2024. The Port is also implementing construction to mitigate risks that can be initiated in the near term (Early Projects) funded by Proposition A, the Seawall Earthquake Safety Bond, and other sources.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) Deputy Program Manager - Environmental develops the programmatic strategy for planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, investigation and remediation of hazardous materials, and permitting and environmental review for all WRP activities through 2030 and beyond, including managing staff, consultants, and public and resource agency engagement.

This position is a key leadership position within the WRP, working collaboratively alongside the WRP Deputy Program Manager – Engineering & Project Delivery, WRP Deputy Program Manager – Planning, and WRP Flood Study Project Manager.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Oversees the planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, including the Living Seawall Pilot and the Engineering with Nature Working Group in coordination with the Waterfront Resilience Program Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager. 
• Oversees the planning and execution of investigation and remediation of hazardous materials related to specific Early Projects and the USACE Flood Study.
• Oversees the planning and execution of environmental studies, including environmental review and analysis required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
• As a Program leader, sets the example of the Program culture of caring including, but not limited to, safety, inclusion, diversity, and equity.
• Coordinates input of Port staff into all relevant Early Project and Flood Study permitting and environmental review.
• In consultation with the Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager, develops and oversees the Engagement Plan for the Resource Agency Working Group, which includes a broad range of regulatory and resource agencies with jurisdiction over construction activities in San Francisco Bay.
• Collaborates with Deputy Program Manager – Engineering and Project Delivery to develop messaging and strategy with the permitting agencies (name them) related to Early Projects.
• Coordinates with City Planning Department (Environmental Planning) to conduct CEQA/NEPA for the Early Projects and the Flood Study and subsequent design and construction.
• Manages and approves the deliverables of environmental consultants.
• For the Flood Study, oversees the analysis and selection of the Least Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) under the Clean Water Act.
• Ensures strategic coordination and consultation on resilience permitting and regulatory issues for individual projects.
• Oversees the CEQA/NEPA effort for the USACE Flood Study which will be managed by the Flood Study Project Manager.
• Oversees environmental team input to design and environmental compliance during construction.
• Works collaboratively with all members of the WRP team to identify and resolve issues promptly, escalating issues for resolution to the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Assistant Port Director and the Port Director as required.
• Provides support and guidance to USACE Flood Study team members to deliver the Study.
• Supervises environmental and permitting staff assigned to the Waterfront Resilience Program.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking for one individual to serve as a Medical Assistant for the Medication Support Team. The Medical Assistant performs a variety of routine to moderately difficult clerical, administrative, and technical duties in support of licensed medical professionals; takes vital signs, obtains complete client medical histories, and performs various support duties such as entering data and information into various databases and computer systems; and performs related duties as assigned.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Assists in the examination, treatment, and care of clients in an outpatient setting, according to instructions from licensed medical staff, Authority procedure, and scope of authority.

• Takes client vital signs, weight and height, and documents basic medical information obtained from client including medical and medication histories; reports any observed abnormalities or changes in client vitals to appropriate staff.

• Receives, logs, and stores oral, injectable, and sample medications; monitors inventory levels and expiration dates; discards of expired medications according to policy.

• Assists and observes clients self-dispense medication as prescribed by a  psychiatrist and administers scheduled injections.

• Conducts medication checks on clients to assess their overall medication management capabilities; takes appropriate action if client poses danger with respect to the use or abuse of medication; observes, evaluates, records, and reports to professional staff changes in client’s condition.

• Participates in interdisciplinary team treatment planning, staff training functions, utilization and peer review activities, and clinical supervision.

San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.
• Scheduling patients in the procedure clinic.

The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships; engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem- solving; and leveraging financial and volunteer resources.  The Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) of HSD specifically supports older residents and their caregivers to live active, healthy lives in the Tri-City community.

Woodside Fire Protection District offers an exceptional Cadet Program for individuals interested in a career in the Fire Service. Cadets gain hands-on experience participating in training and public service events. Cadets work 24-hour shifts and ride-along on emergency calls.

Woodside Cadets will work and be involved in:

Emergency calls, firefighter training, public education events, fire prevention, station duties, CERPP, CPR/first aid training. They must also meet monthly hour requirements and attend monthly training drills.

Occupational Therapist II is the experienced journey level class in this series. Incumbents in this class perform the full range of general therapy treatments with a greater degree of independence and proficiency, additionally applying more specialized and advanced therapy treatments. Some individuals may also assist in providing technical advice and training to less experienced staff.
The ideal candidate has graduated from an accredited occupational therapy curriculum and is licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the California Board of Occupational Therapy and registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
